It was late noon already & after attending a lengthy and boring meeting at the railway diesel shed located in krishnarajapuram, I decided to drive into gopalan mall on old madras road where I could get to park my car, have lunch & relax a bit. This mall had many food joints & as fate would attract me - the yummy looking full size posters of burgers were too tempting to resist. I simply walked into mcdonalds to tickle up my taste buds. I just got bowled over by the giant size menu displayed over the counters & ordered egg burger, a mc-aloo tikki burger & medium sized french fries. The girl at the order counter was somehow convincing me to opt for a meal plan but I was clearly not interested. The staff are aptly trained to coax you in to ordering some stuff that is more expensive than you may think so.
I receive my token & bill for Rs. 155/= and in just two minutes my order was ready. I was at the counter and witnessed my burgers being thrown down by a guy from the back, a girl then hand covered it with tissue paper, she then quickly put some french fries into a paper cup, placed these in a tray and slid it across to me. she even chucked a couple of ketchup packets & called for the next token.i did not like this hurried approach & it appeared to me that mcdonalds was doing me a favor by serving my so called meal. Where is the passion & where is the love? I wondered!
Sat down and opened up the half baked burger, nothing great about it and nothing in there too. just a small piece of baked potato fry, some mayonnaise hesitantly filled & an outer onion ring placed. the size of the burger that you actually get is far too small from the one magnified on the wall poster. mcdonalds just want you to eat the crap without much ketchup actually. Try tearing those extra thick ketchup sachets with oily hands - its nearly impossible & frustrating too. Even if you successfully tore one of those you are bound to stain your shirt.
The ambience, cleanliness, hygene & the smiling staff are some of the reasons that tend to lure you in. I walked out grumpy because I wasted my time and money on junk food & worst - I was still hungry!
Overall I would never recommend this american chain of money makers. Regret to see the younger generation wasting their time and money here.
- Thank You! We appreciate your effort.
