Savior Soap for Chikungunya
Feb 22, 2010 10:56 PM 23844 Views

You might wonder what relation there between Margo soap and this cruel Chikungunya fever . So, let me explain my experience with the “ Margo Soap". In Chennai for the past few months (during winter), the Chikungunya fever was almost doubled from average. I myself, being a victim to this fever saw it gone with usual medications, but believe me, the after math was really, really painful.

The post Chikungunya fever gave lot of pain to each and every joint which I haven’t experienced before. The Doctors were not in a position to give a proper medical suggestion but, simply advised to wait for few months so that the pain in those joints might go off by itself. I started to go regular walking in early mornings, so it gave me a sense of freshness and improved my total system. But, the pain was not eliminated completely and some how, I started practicing to tolerate it. Meantime, I contacted my friends and relatives, who were also affected by this same virus, to understand some post treatment cure to this problem. But, to my complete dissatisfaction they gave me no solution. In fact, all of them were in the same condition as mine.

Some guys suggested some “Homeo” treatment and some others suggested trying eating “dry fish dishes” (Karuvaadu in Tamil) as some of the people got better after trying those methods. But, I haven’t tried both and started to look for some other means.

So, I started to study various health related books and also surfed the internet extensively to get some clue, to come out of this nasty problem. There, the name “Neem” attracted me, as I saw several resources stressed its benefits for various ailments. So, I thought of buying “Margo soap” in order to give me an added herbal protection. In the beginning was really skeptical and started using it without much confidence.

From the “day One” itself, I felt the difference throughout. There was a “distinct fresh feeling” which I haven’t experienced before. In the evening the mosquito bites were also lessened due to its natural action on the skin. Acnes were reduced from the third day itself and it gave, a real nourishment to the skin. The “fifth day” I felt a noticeable difference in the body pain. The Joint pain reduced to a great extent and I couldn’t able to believe my self. The power of Neem was quiet strong and gave a powerful relief from the joint pains, which I was experiencing for several months. I thank God for showing me this wonderful soap as a cure. The Margo soap really”Works”.

I don’t know how Doctors going to interpret my review but, here I only shared my true experience. All I thought was, my review might help " some one, who believes"

An excellent bath soap for all reasons / seasons!!
Feb 05, 2008 04:50 AM 21342 Views

I

have been using this bath soap in India for the last several years, say, 30!

Its an excellent bath soap for any season and even with hard water!  You have

the satisfaction of having a purposeful bath: cleanliness, freshness and healthy

skin: swear, no pimples! The packaging of'numbers' is intelligent, enticing

the greedy users to take care of occasional non-availability!

It suits all types of skins- oily, dry.  and all hues of users. With all this, its highly economical.

Unfortunately, I am missing it in USA for the last two months, not knowing

where to buy! Boy, why are you missing? and where are you sold?

It is such a good soap, easily comparable with the best of breed available here: it must be made

available in all famous Stores and Marts across the globe in general and US in

particular. It really deserves that placement.

After all, you can’t deny it for'us' in'US'!

Underrated!!!

I was such a dissatisfied girl as far as soaps are concerned, trying out all soaps available under the sun...Trust me, I havent left any thing untried...Yes even the Khadi gram udyog soaps :). All that search stopped when I tried margo. This was 2 years back...And now I cant dream of a day when I dont smell the neem scent.

The only thing that should ever deter anyone from buying this soap is that it smells not too good and probarbly is bitter. But other than that, Its the best thing for your skin. Much better than most expensive soap, the sheer simplicity of ths soap is lovable. Acne....You forget them once you use margo.

Most of the skin problems arise from the harmful chemicals that soap manufacturers add to make the soap smell 'flowery' or 'sandal' etc. And the 'herbal' soaps are not actually completely herbal. They contain perfumes and most of them just make it smell herbal. Margo is one soap, that to my satisfaction smelt authentically natural. It oozes of neem, literally.

Probably this sounds like an ad for the soap. But surely there are lot of pros to this soap.

  1. Body odor vanishes considerably after the usage of this soap.

  2. The smell really feels cleaning....You feel pure after the bath.

  3. Acne vanish. I mean it.

  4. Absolutely anyone can use it. It is very mild. Except ofcourse you are the few delicate darlings whose skin reacts to every other thing

  5. Very high quality for the price we pay

  6. Has been recommended by derm docs all over.

Best thing to use after you come home after a long day....and from pollution.

If your skin feels dry after using it...just dab a little creme...and its solved.

Just that you need to keep a stock when it comes tot he market... Not available in all small shops nearby ( atleast where I stay :) )

Margo – Old, but Dependable Brand among Toil
Jul 12, 2004 05:14 PM 20421 Views

In our younger days (several decades back), Margo was a popular toilet soap- patronized by all most every one in five households in Calcutta (now Kolkata). Traditionally, we had grown up with it ? its typical green colour and fragrance had kept an imprint in our minds. We have been told by elders the importance and efficacy of this soap for bathing, being its origin from famous all cure - Neem tree. Though we did not understand its significance as much, till we re-discovered it in its recent strong emergence.

Calcutta Chemical was known mostly for its Margo soap and Neem toothpaste, the advantages they exploited when going was good. With emergence of competition, they lacked the management skill to sustain in market place against competition and finally sold it out to Shaw Wallace Group, who, in turn, sold their interests to present acquirer, Henkel Spic India Ltd.(HSIL).

Margo soap, in its present disposition, vigorously marketed by HSIL has once again getting recognised on national scale and finding its place in the households in metropolis and cities alike while competing against major FMCG giants like P&G, HLL etc apart from regional players. The intensity of competition, though, continues in soaps and Margo as a brand has registered volume growth in its target segments, as communicated by HSIL. This acquisition has enabled the company to expand its product range and strengthen its position in the toilet soap.

Neem ? a well researched tree of our country is now advocated around the world for its medicinal and germicidal properties. It has been known to us for ages, particularly in villages. This tree, as a whole ? leaves, bark, fruit etc have been of great help to our rural household remedies and also Ayuruveda stream of medicine and consequent treatment of ailments.

Margo is known to be beneficial for maintaining skin health as Neem per say, has the inherent quality to be germicide. It has distinct green colour and fragrance that are soothing to many like me. It is good for young and old, unless one is fussy of a specific variety. It has now become my personal preference as toilet soap.

Bathing experience with Margo soap
Jul 09, 2004 02:37 PM 22719 Views

Bathing is an important activity to be done by every human being. May be in Chennai, Tamilnadu, everyday bathing may not be possible. In general bathing is an indispensable activity for us in South India. That too, bathing with Margo soap is healthy habit.

As Margo soap is made from Neem oil, it acts as a disinfectant. It eradicates all the illeffects of micro organisms which are produced during sweating of our skin.

I use this soap for the past twenty two years. As the bath after using Margo soap gives me great relief from sweating smell I am using this soap for the past twenty two years.

The alternate brands are not so effective. Some brands are having smell only but they are not effective in removing the bad odour.

All can buy this soap as the soap mainly made from Neem oil. It is recommended usage for every body who can afford to buy it.

For a healthier and odour free skin, go for Margo.

Be beautiful..naturally!!

There are a million things to worry about, without having to think about the kind of soap we use. Many of us usually tend to continue using the soap that we have been using for years, not bothering to try new soaps that have gained entry into the market. Some of us, tend to use brands that are currently in vogue.

But its a fact that there are very few soaps in the market that have absolutely NO chemical ingredients in them, thus ensuring the safety and purity of our skin. Margo falls in the league of such soaps.

Its basically Ayurvedic in nature, containing herbal ingredients, rather than chemical ones. A dominant ingredient being ''Neem''. As u all might be aware that Neem has rejuvinating properties and Neem products have always been used for skin care and as a remedy for skin diseases. I had read somewhere that the English term for the Neem tree is''Margosa''..well that explains the name 'Margo'.

I myself began to use Margo a few months ago.Living in Mumbai's hot climate, and required to travel regularly, I often have had to deal with a few customary pimples that show up.

As I was very apprehensive of using acne treatment creams, that have chemicals in them, I preferred to treat my skin in a more natural way. I opted to use herbal products, which even if did not cure, at least wouldn't cause any harm to my skin.I initiallly started using ''Chandrika'', a soap that been used in our country since many years. Although fairly effective, it tends to become very mushy after its first contact with water itself. That was the sole reason that prompted me to try another soap 'Medemix',also herbal in nature...but it didn't help me much.

Finally I opted to try Margo.

When I started using Margo, its obvious effects on my skin were visible after 2-3 days iyself. After 2-3 weeks of prolonged use,my skin had cleared considerably. Margo tends to give ur skin ,a kind of healthy glow that can be attained only after all the oily grime and dust on ur skin is cleared off. Margo cleanses your skin from within, thus giving it a very nourished look,at the same time keepin it well moisturised to prevent dryness.

Margo can be used, just as you would use any other soap. Its effects can be seen, after washing your face after removal of make-up, or even after an extremely tiring outing in the sun. As it does not contain any harsh chemicals, it can be used by ppl of all ages, from children to adults. I have profited a lot from it, I hope it does wonders for your skin too...

The endorsement slogan of Margo aptly describes it as ''Complete skin care from nature.''....I wholeheartedly agree :)
