Manipal Hospital, Kodihalli, Bangalore Reviews

It's all about money, pal!

This hospital is less like a hospital and more like a hotel. Yeah, it's clean and all, you don't need to wait a in a queue, free wi-fi, etc etc. But, behind this great facade are some of the most incompetent and money-minded doctors and administrators. So, I had a full ACL(knee ligament) tear and consulted Dr. Manoj Kumar. He delayed my surgery for a month. Throughout the consultation, he was so f-ing rude and instead of helping someone in acute pain, he acted arrogantly and said I'm doing a drama. He did not even recommend pre-operative physiotherapy, due to which I took so long to recover. He did not teach me how to use the crutches properly. I had a similar experience with the physiotherapy department too where the therapist was just experimenting new techniques on me and charged 800 Rs for 30-minute consultation.

He is the Masiha for his patients.

I am thankful whole heartedly to him for his successful surgery and treatment of my wife and to his Assistant Dr. Ramya and the whole nursing staff of 7th Floor D block, Manipal Hospital for their best service during her stay in the hospital.

Apathy, at the cost of a life!

Couldn't rate them anything less than 1 star. They ultimately killed my father. He had suffered a cardiac arrest at home and the MARS number was bloody unresponsive. We then took him to the Manipal in Whitefield in an OLA and he suffered the second cardiac arrest on the way. The excuse for the non availability of ambulance was that the driver was not available. They then took almost 35 minutes to admit him into ER room as I had to fill the admission forms. They then started to revive his heart beat which took another 15 - 17 minutes. Since my dad did not get oxygen or blood supply to the brain for close to an hour, he was declared brain dead after a week of keeping him in the ventilator. The insurance was outrightedly rejected saying there was no tie up with Mediassist. There was a freaking quack Dr. Ajith at the CCU who would not answer more than 2 questions of you when asked about the health of the patient. He just is very arrogant and shows off his attitude to every single person meeting him. He has a feel of being on the top of the world. Ultimately I had to lose my father for no fault of his. Shame on these fellas

Human Touch

September 2016, a month which introduced the word CANCER in our life. As I sat transfixed staring at my dad's report, I read one of the many boards adorning Manipal Hospital walls.

It's not a full stop, it's a comma!

Our journey to fight this dreaded ailment commenced with the most positive team of doctors. Right from the word go, it was all about confidence .

Dr Rajshekhar C Jaka along with Dr Vadhiraja and Dr Amit Rauthan, not to forget the first doctor I met, Dr Zaveri infused us with such a positive feel that the dreaded word'CANCER' became just an ailment like any other, which could be easily dealt with.

Half the battle is won when the mind says, " You can do it. "

An excellent Oncology  team backed with a fabulous set of nursing and support staff, Manipal's oncology department needs a thumbs up  for their approach, treatment and most importantly, the human touch.   Ever smiling, kind, gentle and considerate doctors and nursing  staff Sneha Fara, Anisha Mohan and Jibi George to name a few who helped my father all through the recuperation phase, Manipal oncology department is doing a great job.

Not to forget the ever so helpful Usha Samuel, front desk, 8th floor along with Rani, Pradeep and Preeti from the billing department who ensured that the discharge papers were in place, without much ado!

Together we can fight CANCER

My brother is admitted in Dr Malathi Manipal. Dr thought my brother consumed poison or it should be pits. After 24 hours Drs said it's look like pits& no poison consumed. Admitted on 28 Jan with insurance policy& claim is registered from by end. As per insurance desk, claim is denied due lack of clarification of type of disease& how long it last, etc on 30-Jan which is not communicated any one of us still discharge on 2 Feb. Insurance desk is not interested in Manipal didn't ask dr or Nursing staff on clarification& give me the all the paper with explanation. Later I checked with dr& nurse assisted further. If insurance desk in Manipal is not interest in resolve the issue. What the point of have it only want money. I don't recommend Malathi Manipal in Jaya Nagar, Bengaluru

A good dentist
Feb 02, 2017 06:59 PM 35093 Views

I had a dental issue for which I had get operated in my mouth. The dentist had a detailed check and suggested me to have a surgery the next day. The staff was very co-operative and got all my tests and formalities done the same day. I had a major problem even I could not open mouth properly. The staff was very courteous and caring. The surgery was quite reasonable for my pocket and I did not feel the financial pressure. The infrastructure is a bit low on the side and it's a crowded place, we need to check with the cutomer support executives to get the right guidence.

I have been to Manipal Hospital couple of times with friends and relatives. Very talented doctors and staff. Facilities are very good. Once my friend's son's platelet count started dropping suddenly. A local hospital was not able to resolve it despite admitting him for 24 hours. Someone told my friend about Manipal. We went there, and withing 2 days, they made everything normal, and the kid was playing and back to normal self. Since that time, I have noticed 3 to 4 similar incidents which all prove very good service extended by the hospital.

Best place to go for any illness. right from a normal security person to doctor, all have been kind and helpful.

Most important persons to play with our body are doctor and nurse.

Doctor LT HOLLA is the best doctor I've come across in the hospital.

Keep going the great job you guys have been doing. Appreciated.

Superb doctor - Dr. Manohar KN
Jan 05, 2017 08:00 PM 18731 Views

I am overall very happy with the way Manipal Hospital has been treating me as I go there for my routine check-ups every 6 months. Dr. Manohar KN deserves a special mention as he was able to diagnose my condition correctly initially. I just went to him for a second opinion after my first doctor at a different hospital recommended surgery. He advised that a surgery was not required at this point and further referred me to another excellent specialist in Manipal itself, who was an expert in treating my condition. It was Dr. Manohar who initially showed the path of treatment to follow and I'm extremely happy that an unnecessary surgery was avoided.

Dr Manohar KN - Saved my life
Jan 04, 2017 05:47 PM 17790 Views

Few years back, I was hospitalised in a nursing home in Thippasandra and there I developed a major complications during my pregnancy. Due to lack of facilities I was asked to shift immediately to Manipal Hospital. It was Dr Manohar under whom I was admitted, he was truly a god for us at that point of time, he went to the extent of donating his own blood for me which matched my group and helped us out in getting the best possible treatment needed at that point of time. We were not sure whether I would come out of the MICU and my family can never forget the critical situation from which Dr Manohar had helped us out since then. I can honestly say that he is the doctor who saved my life and may god give him long life so he can save many more lives.

Dr. Manohar KN, with a healing touch...
Jan 04, 2017 04:53 PM 16799 Views

We as family have been consulting him for several years for his ethical practices of his knowledge with a healing touch towards us. Whether its my staff in the business or friends across I always use to recommend him because of his entire approach towards the patients. It just happened that several months of gap in seeing him, I happened to take one of my staff from the office with a Dengue suspision and the moment I entered his room he mentioned, "Something wrong, cause you look Hypothyroid?" I was in a shock and couldn't believe. He strongly recommended that I should do a test the same day. The next day when I get the results he was absolutely spot on with his diagnosis by the look itself.

I am so thankful to his presence of mind, knowledge and care towards his patients. Which helped me to find out at the early stage that I had Hypothyroid which I am being treated as well. He is certainly a gem & a great asset not just to the hospital but also to the society in the way he treats his patients.

Dr. T.P.Rekha - Gynac in Manipal Hospital
Jan 04, 2017 08:43 AM 17313 Views (via Mobile)

I got my both deliveries done by Dr T P Rekha and she is one of the best gynecologist at manipal . She has an excellent decision making ability, very talented and very experience lady. she knows what needs to be done in the complicated situation, she is very polite humble and sweet lady with a smiling face, very friendly with her staff members. But as far as her work is concern she cannot entertain any kind of jokes to be crack or any kind of carelessness with her patients. She usually seems to be very serious while listening to her patient that doesn't mean that she has an attitude. She helped us over the phone calls also. Usually doctors never help u over the phone. She never asked for any test or any scan if it's not needed.

One of my relatives had given me her reference. I always recommend her to all my friends and relatives.

Waste of Money, very bad treatment
Dec 28, 2016 04:14 PM 35145 Views

I was having dust allergy, so went to consult doctor girish rai in manipal hospital, he asked me to get MRI and xray to my nose and lungs, after getting reports he said there is septal deviation in my nose so immediate surgery is needed, and if not done immediately he said it may be converted to sinusitis and also after the sugery the allergic reaction will be cured he assured, worried me accepted to undergo the surgery, even after surgery my condition is not improved I went to him again, he is simply saying surgery will not cure allergic reaction but will just enable free breathing and asked me to take avamys spray, Avamys is a basic treatment which should be given in first, but instead of this corporate hospital targets he made me to undergo surgery which is a total waste, he is a cheater doctor, please dont go to him. I paid around 700rs to meet a specialist doctor but all the examination in done by his assistants. I would have rated below one star if it is available

Best Sergon for ACL.
Dec 27, 2016 06:49 PM 16891 Views (via Mobile)

After few reviews from ortho physicians and very positive feedback from my friend who is back to ground after ACL, I blindly decided to go for it from Dr. Hemanth Kalyan. I was lucky to get an appointment in 2 Weeks for a surgery. I met him in Osicare first and completed my previous operative tests.

I was admitted one day prior to surgery.

Even under the busy schedule of surgery, the doctor came to me and briefed about the process for 5 minutes. It gave me more clarity and all fears were out.

He has a great team and the surgery was performed by him.He was not in a hurry though there were few more lined up. It went almost close to 1.5 hours and the total process took not less than 5 hours. The great doctor who thanked all his team members post surgery and walked away to attend the next case.

I would like to thank the whole ortho team and special thanks to Dr. Hemanth Kalyan and he deserves all appreciations.

Now about the ward, don't have more expectations with brand Manipal and assume things. Very few sisters and brothers are dedicated to work and are skilled. To name them Anish is the best. Me and my roommates were waiting for his shift. He is very fast and complete the work before he starts another. Multitasking and service perfection and commitment. I did not find any other good brothers and sisters among those who attend me(not sure if Christmas vacation was the reason).

Also Dr. Hemanth discharged me one day prior to Christmas as promised. Today is my 5th day experience post surgery. I am getting more and more movements on my leg and have done 110degrees with 4days physiotherapy. Yes. It pains a little while you work out . but thats OK.

Overall I would highly recommend Dr. Hemanth Kalyan and his team. All the very best.

VERY BAD HOSPITAL EXPERIENCE
Dec 20, 2016 06:28 PM 33913 Views

This year October month I had gone through a surgery on my Neck. I had to did this as it was Epidermal cyst. I thought that Manipal Hospital is a good option, but my experience change my mind. I had two cyst but they only remove one cyst. Later I came to know that. They charged 60000 for my surgery as it was not that much a difficult one. Infrastructure here was okay. I was admitted there for two days. Doctor was available for checkup twice a day which I think is good. Medical care is on average. Staff nurses were not available all the time. Sometime nurses shows rude behavior, that is so rude.

Waste of money very poor service
Dec 16, 2016 10:29 AM 34003 Views

Recently I have gone through appendix operation, really bad experience with Manipal hospital. They have admitted me before 2 days and no doctor came for visit only nurse was there, I was suffering from pain and these nurse was giving pain killers for that, also they didn't allow my friends to come over and see me before operation. my final bill was 1, 25, 000 that was too much for appendix as compered to other hospitals in Bangalore. very poor service nurses were behaving like they are king of their kingdom. I would not suggest anyone to go waste their money over there. take care friends and be careful from fake hospitals

Dr. Manohar KN
Dec 03, 2016 08:05 PM 19253 Views

I think he is a quack. Please avoid this doctor. I had an appointment at 1 PM at Manipal Old Madras Road. I could see Dr. Manohar loitering around in the waiting area but he didnt enter the chamber. He went into the doctors room at around 145PM only . A family went inside although I was the first patient to be consulted. I immediately went to the receptionist and told her about this unprofessionalism and the receptionist told me that they are known to the doctor.

Finally my turn came. I told him my problem and he checked me. He gave me some medicines and told me that if my problem doesnt improve in 3-4 days I have to do some USG and Liver tests. My problem didn't improve in 3 - 4 days and I went to another doctor . He prescribed me some other medicines which has nothing to do with what Dr. Manohar prescribed and I am better now. I realised that this Dr.Manohar is not proficient enough to even attend to basic ailments. He shuffled through my earlier prescriptions and even advised me to change doctors that I am consulting for some of my other ailments but did a bad job of what I went to him for. He is a Kannada SIRi - I dont know what it has got to do with his profession but when a doctor flaunts titles that has nothing to do with his profession one should treat him with suspect. All in all a bad doctor and highly avoidable

Worst Hospital Experience
Nov 16, 2016 12:23 PM 19056 Views

Had my mother admitted for breathing complication @ Manipal Kodihalli. what we had to endure was of worst experiences.

Overly charged Rates, we are coaxed into taking up non-relevant tests, Doctor's are inexperienced and pretend know everything(I am from a family of Doctors). Shabbily kept room(thou you are charged for A/C. the A/C is never switched on).

Linen of bad quality. place stinks. they rip you off your money.

"MoneyPal" aptly suits them better.

Very unprofessional and Inexperienced
Nov 14, 2016 03:23 AM 31808 Views (via Mobile)

I went for my health checkup at Manipal Hospital, had a terrible experience and now thinking about whether the report information is mine or somebody else's! There is disarray and absence of coordination in the procedures, doctors are fairly inexperienced and don't seem, by all accounts, to be skillful. The samples gathered are brought with such easygoing quality that I was questioning on the off chance that they will mix up the samples. When I went for conclusive consultation, the specialist said that my report was mixed up with the report of another patient. I am currently thinking that I ought to go for another round of checkup at a more dependable hospital.
