Manipal hospital not good
Nov 08, 2016 11:37 PM 17241 Views (via Mobile)

Hello there companions My father has been a consistent patient at Manipal and I truly value the group of specialists there for their devotion and duty. They had reliably chipped away at getting my father through an extremely muddled surgery, treatment and the antagonistic impacts. As of late I conceded in Manipal healing center on crisis because of serious stomach torment. On the external side the healing center is enormous with numerous pro specialists accessible in numerous offices.

Good doctors but nurses lack expertise.
Oct 23, 2016 03:59 PM 20626 Views (via Mobile)

My 6 months old baby was admitted here to treat urine infection. I can mention some good and bad aspects of this hospital.

good:

doctors are good, paediatric emergency personnel were good.

Nurses assigned to paediatric high dependency ward were good.

bad:

doctors manually write the prescription. My doctor though experienced, had not mentioned properly what dosage need to be given which lead to confusion when showed prescription to duty doctor.

Its very difficult to get private rooms. my baby haf to share the room with kids having dengue and malaria.

nurses assigned to other wards which are not high dependency lacked expertise. My baby was on iv infusion for 10 days. On 6th day when iv medicine started leaking from her hands, we observed(we checked not nurses) and informed these nurses and they came to know that baby's hands were swollen and due to that veins were not accepting fluid. Then they startef finding vein in herright hand. They pricked her twice on the right hand and then when they were not able to get the vein they shiftedto leg and prickef there as well. It was such a torture to see a small baby being subjected to such inhuman behaviour. My baby suffered because of these nurses inexperience. These nurses were giving different dosages each time forthe same medicine.I had even detected drip being leaked because the nurse had not attached it properly.

Unethical behaviour

I want to share my worst life time experience and it is with Manipal hospital, Bangalore(Old Airport Road).

I am 28 years old and found to be completely fit and healthy with no running medications. I went to OPD of Manipal Hospital on 18th Aug night 9.00 pm for continuous vomiting. I was suffering from vomiting that day with severe acidity and that happened due to eating outside food. We went to OPD, the doctors over there started treating me, put saline. That time, my BP was very low and that was due to dehydration as I was vomiting since morning. But, they took that issue so unusual and started doing lot of tests as ECG, Echo, sonography, blood tests etc. One of the doctor is saying its abnormal pregnancy and other is coming and saying its some infection stomach. No one knows what to do? They are putting injections, drips, everywhere on my body. It was going on uptill 3.00 am. Then they took me for CT scan and finally they decided that I need close monitoring and admitted me in Intensive Care Unit(ICU).

We are unable to get, what they are doing and I was normal and was in all senses and telling them continuously that I am fine. But, they were making their own stories and telling me that I am not fine. At 4.00 am, they admitted me in ICU. And till then, they were unable to stop me acidity and vomiting. I told the ICU doctor to give me medicine for vomiting and then they gave me. And then they told me to put on ventilator. Ventilator? As if I am dying. A young girl who is feeling perfectly fine and suddenly someone is saying that u need ventilator…Its ridiculous. I refused to do that but they insisted me to do for 3hours. I did it.

In morning, I was perfectly fine. My vomiting stopped. Then again in morning cardiologists’ team came, they did Echo, ECG again and reported that there is some heart infection. Then other team came, and told, it might be Dengue. And they told to do MRI. And, I was continuously telling doctors that its food poisoning as I ate outside food but they were not ready to listen me. But, I refused. And, I was keep asking my nurse about the reports. All were normal. All blood tests were normal.

We realized that they are just making money from us. Then in evening, we decided to get discharge. Then attendant doctor refused to discharge me. But my husband and I was adamant to give me discharge. Doctor told my husband that anything can happen to me, its on your own risk you are moving out. He wanted to frighten us. But, we refused and we told them to discharge, And I told nurse to call doctor to see me and give some medicines or prescription, but doctor refused to come. I have not seen such doctor with no heart and no courtesy for his patients. He didn’t come to meet me and prescribe me any medicines rather he told you are absolutely fine and you don’t need anything. If I didnt need anything then why he kept me in ICU?

And, then I visited other physician and she gave me just 2 medicines and I was perfectly fine. But, because of so many injections, drips I felt more weak and recovered from that weakness in 15 days.

This was totally nightmare for me and my family. Horrible experience. I will never enter in that hospital again. They just ask in beginning that you are having insurance and if they know this, they start treating you with unwanted tests and medicines and just charge you high and earn money. They charged with Rs 95, 000/- for just one day. The bill detailed charges for 3 times echo and 3 time secg. In one day they are doing 3 times same test and charging again and again. I Have not seen such treatment. They are looting people and playing with their body.

I and my significant other are extremely grateful to Dr Vasan and Dr Bina Vasan. We experienced for two IVF cycles at some other doctor's facility in Bangalore yet neglected to imagine in both. At that point our neighbor proposed Manipal Ankur as they themselves experienced IVF their and which was fruitful at first cycle itself. In spite of the fact that we had lost all trust still we went if all else fails. Amid our visit Dr Bina clarified every one of the reasons for fruitlessness which were never disclosed to us in past clinic. She proposed me to visit Dr Vasan for my registration too. Dr Vasan likewise clarified the treatment arrange and composed few pharmaceuticals. After the primary visit itself we were sure that we have arrived up at the right entryway. A week ago we were honored with a child kid. For us Dr Vasan and Dr Bina Vasan are God sent points. On account of Dr Vasan and Dr Bina Vasan.

Dr Hemanth Kalyan -First Visit Highly Disappointed
Sep 07, 2016 07:52 PM 25032 Views

Hi,

Booked an appointment on Sep 5th to my mother for knee pain. The appointment was cancelled due to doctor unavailability. They didn't adjust the appointment to later days and asked us to walk in directly. Reached hospital on 7th Sep at 12:30 PM, and waited for more than 3.5 hrs, until my mother name was called up. Surprisingly, there was a junior doctor who didn't examine much and asked us to get x-ray done. This will take another 2 hours easily and the doctor would leave for the day. We showed him the x-ray which was taken 2 months back, but insisted to take new x-ray.

Really Frustrated, and left without consulting the main doctor. I hope the doctor may be good, but treating of the patients is really bad.

My question is, if it is junior doctor who is going to examine first, would have done that much earlier, instead of waiting nearly 4 hours. X-ray would have been taken by that time. No proper process followed, staff recommendation are sent on priority. We have seen nearly 2-3 cases in our entire 3.5 hrs waiting time.

I highly recommend not to visit the Orthopedic department. Any ones with high patience are only recommended.

Dr Hemant Kalyan - Disappointed
Sep 01, 2016 07:42 AM 24482 Views

We have visited Mr Hemant Kalyan on August 31'st for the second opinion on the issue developed on Wife's ankle, we have waited for an hour to meet him which is fine. He takes more than 40 appointments in a day apart from attending other things. He spent just 2 mins and then pretty much asking us to leave indirectly. We are not happy with the time he is spending with the people. We almost stopped visiting Manipal long time back and this made  one more reason to think again.

Thanks

Satish

Dr Girish ENT Manipal is a worthless doctor
Aug 30, 2016 01:03 PM 23918 Views

Went with my 4 year old suffering from ear pain yesterday morning. I am horrified to see such a doctor at Manipal who is least concerned about the patients problem. He was surrounded by Interns, and he seemed not at all interested to explain us the problem and the treatment. Everything we asked he kept on saying that his interns would explain. To our horror the first thing he suggested was microsurgery with full anaesthesia right away rather than suggesting any medicines. When we pestered that we dont want any surgery then he reluctantly wrote medicines. Very unprofessional doctor who seemed bit drowsy and drunk. The interns started explaining us with graphs/big books etc. which was meaningless. Please dont even think of consulting such stupid doctors and at the end Manipal hospitals sucks now.

Poor Customer services & Management
Jul 07, 2016 02:16 PM 36328 Views (via Mobile)

Ì have visited Manipal, Bangalore, HAL Road from West Bengal for Executive Health Check up for my parents& me. I am extremely sorry to state that I have never seen such kind of poor customer services& after paying a hell lot of money, hospital's staffs behaving towards us in a such manner that we felt extremely down for that. On the next day of visit, my dad had cunsultation with neurology department, the coordinator there asked us to wait for 1.30 hrs, where as we have waited more than 4 hrs, & the doctor is not bother to attain us, till then! I personally requested to the coordinator that we have flight on today, and we are waiting for more than 4 hrs, then only she disclosed that doctor is out side for his personal work& if we have a flight then they can return back my money! Total wastage of money, time, self respect. IT'S A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.

Peculiar doctor....
Jun 28, 2016 08:23 PM 25035 Views

I am used to friendly doctors, who tell you about your situation, what precautions to take to not further complicate the situation and give you hope for the future with the right prescriptions.

Manipal hospital on old airport road is a total different ball game.I was advised to meet this doctor, so I paid a hefty sum and had to wait for the longest time even though I took an appointment. Very unprofessional behaviour from the staff.and finally was summoned by this stone faced doctor  who ordered me to speak and after I finished telling him my issues. he scribbled some thing on the paper and said take these for a month and come n see me after.he dint bother to explain my condition .

What medicine was prescribed and when I asked him about any side effects his face twisted n he blurted out. Do u want the medicine or not.I was in total shock. So I left disappointed n threw his prescription in the bin. I'm now being treated at Vikram hospital where they treat patients like human beings and credit them with some intellect.

I and my wife are very thankful to Dr Vasan and Dr Bina Vasan. We underwent for two IVF cycles at some other hospital in Bangalore but failed to conceive in both. Then our neighbor suggested Manipal Ankur as they themselves underwent IVF their and which was successful at first cycle itself.

Though we had lost all hope still we went as a last resort. During our visit Dr Bina explained all the causes of infertility which were never explained to us in previous hospital.

She suggested me to visit Dr Vasan for my check-up also. Dr Vasan also explained the treatment plan and wrote few medicines. After the first visit itself we were confident that we have landed up at the right door.

Last week we were blessed with a baby boy. For us Dr Vasan and Dr Bina Vasan are God sent angles. Thanks again to Dr Vasan and Dr Bina Vasan.

I live close to hospital so on obviously that's the first place we go when we need any medication  No doubt the the staff here are very irresponsible and insensible. I have has very bad experience with Dr Isaac Methew(respiratory related), whose medication nearly took my father to death bed due to wrong diagonosisAnkur fertility clinics there are big cheaters. They  charge you handsomely but never give you Ultrasound report of ovaries so that you don't take it other doctors for second opinion.Hemant Kalyan is again big vulture there, only prescribes surgery for everything. Tthere are few dr who are very good and sensible .Dr Iynger(heart surgeon), Dr Chakravorthy in orthopaedics and Dr Guruprasad in pulmonary  and Anil want EYes. I have had good experience with them

High cost of test And bad billing service
Apr 11, 2016 01:09 PM 32220 Views

Some days ago I went Manipal Hospital in bangalore for some of my problem. I never seen this type of hospital before. All the facilities of this hospital is very good except the billing procedure. This hospital is too clean. A huge number of faculties provide a very good service. They help patient for registration with different sector. Here registration fee and doctor visit fee is not high but we need to pay a huge amount for any test. The most worst thing is billing. At billing section different steps is available, and for that a huge time waste for that. We completed all things in less time than the billing time. I think its need to change the billing procedure and charges for any test.

Bill is not proper that sucked me to hell
Apr 11, 2016 12:54 PM 22990 Views

My father is admitted to hospital on 30th March 2016 and discharged on 4th April 2016. During these days he was kept in ICU for 1 day.

They uses different sizes of the masks until it fits correctly and they charge for each one of them, instead of using the correct size mask(each NIV mask cost 3040). The total bill had come for 131226/- out of which the insurance company approve only 87068/-(I have 10% Co-pay).

The reason insurance company is giving is no where the hospital bill mentioned as ICU and ideally bed charges should be clubbed with nursing charges, as no mention of ICU and separate nursing charges have crossed average per day bed charge limit of 4000/-. They are not paying16, 000/-, which is utter irresponsibility of the hospital. Being Manipal hospital, we expect their staff is aware of handling the bill properly, but I only realize that they are only trained to mint patient mint patients mint patients. Hope this will give some awareness to the people who will be cautious and checked their bills properly every day, otherwise the patient has to ay the cost through out, irrespective of whether they have insurance or not.

Regards,

Prasad.

Not a positive experience
Apr 07, 2016 10:02 AM 24676 Views

I had consulted Dr Namita Joshi at Manipal Ankur for the first time when I moved in Bangalore. She and one other doctor(don't remember her name) scanned me twice(for a loong time) and told me that they are not sure about the problem so asked me that they will have to do hysteroscopy as soon as possible and that I don't hv much time(cost for it being 35k).  She also wrote some problem(major one) as their guess in the ultrasound report. I took some time and consulted 2 other doctors, and there was no such problem which was mentioned. And I never had to go through hysteroscopy with other doctor.

We pay enormous amount of money when we visit doctors/ clinics. Please choose your doctor judiciously. There are many good doctors out there.

Worst Doctors. Never Considers About Patients Well
Mar 17, 2016 01:20 PM 29071 Views (via Mobile)

Hello,

Me and my dad went CKD treatment in Vijayawada branch and specialist is great and he clarified me about the treatment and we approve of the treatment and began taking the treatment however the other specialist supporting staff in this branch doctor's facility is not in the least great and they don't have legitimate learning and involvement in the treatment.

Principally the Billing office and Insurance office staff(Ramamohan or Ramu and Mahesh) are exceptionally impulsive, impolite and mind less at any rate they are in the charging so they ought to be cash minded however you ought to offer appreciation to the patients and the patient relatives or relatives.

Ex: Doctor composed a solution for Thyroid issue and doctor's facility nurture just purchased the medication and provided for patient and told that it's for Sugar sickness and use it day by day and patient began utilizing it and following 2 days we desired specialist visit with every one of the drugs and remedy given by attendant isn't right.

My dad experiencing dialysis treatment under protection assert twice every week, in the last charging they are charging 300 rupees for specialist alongside dialysis, dialyses unit and day care cost as an additional despite the fact that there is not specialist visit and addressed him why are charging this and he said it's healing facility arrangement.

How might you be able to charge a cash for specialist in the dialysis time? Shouldn't something be said about dialysis expense of 1500? Why are charging Day Care 500? Each time he is to go for Initial Estimated case of 16000 rupees and he did this for 3 times and all of a sudden this time he sent a case demand for 21500 without educating to the patient or patient relatives and asked him for what valid reason you sent a solicitation like that without illuminating to us then he(ramamohan or Ramu) addressed that we can't respond in due order regarding every one of your inquiries, we don't have time, this is the doctor's facility approach and in the event that you are intrigued and take the treatment.

Today on 29-Jan-2015 my dad has an arrangement for dialysis in the morning 7 AM and we came to doctor's facility at 6:45 AM for the treatment and they approached us to pay the money for the treatment despite the fact that the Insurance claim endorsed before one day and the staff people(Mahesh and Ramamohan) began playing recreations for 60 minutes lastly I need to pay money to under go treatment.

I said them that will raise protestation on you all and they addressed like this "grievances are not unfamiliar to us, nobody will make a move"
