Malpe

Me and my 3 beaties travelled across the west cost of india.i was really exited to go to the beach.

We stayed in malpe at my friends grannys place.so staying was cost free

Malpe is small port in udupi. with long beach.

My visit here was really amazing. I entered the beach through the port and there is a ship building company called Trada. Really huge crize ships are built here.we have been here at sun rise and set.i just cannot explain how good the beach is. You can also see a small glimpse of the st Mary's island.

Things to remember before you visit;

You can expect very less people on weekday. Clear sky's and empty beach for perfect photos with besties.

Easy transport available regularly from udupi.buses are really fast and cheap.you can also hire a taxi. We choose the bus.

There are some food stalls and carts at the beach.evenings more stalls will add up.

Very less public facilities here like there are no public toilets.you can find good hotels to stay overlooking the beach. I would recommend paradise lagoon as its quite popular.

Overall its a very nice beach to visit.

I have visited Malpe on last year with my family. We have stayed hotels nearby the beach sides. Transports are very few here.The hotels are expensive. The food which was available near the beach were charging high, egg chow men cost us 130 INR and cup of tea cost us 15 INR. the beach has not been maintained well, there plastic and polythene bags surrounds the beach. Common people were doing lactine in the beaches, the governing body or management should restrict such activities here and provides available clean toilets for the common people. Even there were no coastal guards were available in the beach. So we found not safe to go deep in the water. I haven't enjoyed in this beach. Since its a beautiful beach the management should need to make more safety in the beaches by providing life guards.

Very clean beach when compared to other indian beaches. Nice place to take bath and laze around the shore. More vendors selling fish and chats but the prices could be little.

We can have water sports games like boat riding, jetski, banana ride, parasailingetc. We can enjoy the sunset, sea food like fish, chats etc. The beach has a lots of sea shells.

The beach is highly recommended for every one who travelling to udipi.

Wow what a place in udupi .actually udupi mangalore famous for beach and in udupi very near beach is maple beach and we have enjoy a lot here

I visited this place with my friends and we enjoyed a lot .very huge beach and its very nice transportation have near to beach and very large parking place and near so many restaurant is there we they can provide see foods and other fish fry varieties food .that was just yummy

and before enter in to beach we get one big gandhijis structure mad by rock it was just wow to see

local people was very good they usually talk in tulu language and some people know Kannada also

near we get soo many accommodation facility with cheap price

very much safety .always police will surrounded to beach

we can also enjoy horse ride and camel ride there

Karnataka people especially from old Mysore state really feel at home when they visit udupi because this

place is pure vegetarian town and also it is really very modern.

YES UDUPI PEOPLE HAVE BECOME VERY MODERN.

Modern happens because the people of udupi are WANDERERS to seek work or do business outside the state of karnataka.

UDUPI IS THE BIRTHPLACE FOR FAMOUS BANKS.

yes Canara bank, sydicate bank, corporation bank, Life insurance of india head office was in udupi, vijaya bank I am sure many more banks may be still in the list that got established.

All these banks started with a capital of not more than ONE THOUSAND RUPEES and today to open an account you need to deposit minimum of 1000 rs.

WHAT IS SO SPECIAL IN UDUPI.

Udupi is not at all a business nor industrial belt and it is famous for EDUCATION, Hospital and ofcourse the great all india known udupi krishna temple.

WHAT NEXT.

Every place from udupi is very easy accessble and a visitor can stay for one week time and enjoy visiting places of interest and since the staying is not very costly one can make a fixed stay of ten days and visit the places easily returnable in the evening to the hotel booked and it is damn cheap feel also.

NOT ONE SO MANY PLACES OF INTEREST SORROUND YOU NOT TO MISS UDUPI.

Yes the most intersting part of UDUPI unlike Bangalore where you feel congested, suffocated and also irritated by travel of dense vehicles, here the night is so peacefull, hotels have plenty of food of choice for your appetite and the nearness of the sea beach anytime of the day or night make life so easy, careless.

YES YOU LOVE THE FEEL OF CARELESSNESS LIFE IN UDUPI FOR TENDAYS.

I am really suggesting you especially north indians who can base their stay at udupi without carrying main luggage and keep it in the room safely and the feel to come back to udupi of joyfull visit near places of udupi make a family feel SO AT HOME.

WHY.

udupi is blessed with very near places which really worth seeing and shortened visit and since you are just one or two hours from udupi it is very easy to come back, because all the place you visit is on

NATIONAL HIGH WAY .

PLENTY OF BUSES TO ANY PLACE WORTH TO VISIT.

I can say places of interest is just 60 kms from udupi from left to right to north to south direction of udupi, this way let me start from MANGALORE.

MANGALORE IS 60 kms from udupi and the Bus journey is very very fast and the road is very good and every 1 minute there is a bus to go to Mangalore.

You dont need a car at all, Bus can take you to any destination at ease and people never come into your privacy.

SEA BEACH IS JUST 5 KM FROM MAIN BUSSTAND.

If you happen to stay near to the beach place, the distance will be far less to reach Malpe beach,

MALPE BEACH.

Very beautiful and very nice and very gracious and SAINT MARY ISLANDS IS SO NEAR FOR BOAT RIDE.

yes half day one can journey into SAINT MARY ISLAND from MALPE beach, there is boats running and it is damn cheap.

CARRY LOT OF FOOD AND ENJOY EATING AT SAINT MARY ISLAND.

Yes it is fun fun fun filled with family members enjoying, singing and dancing and feel the joy of BLUE WATER RUSHING TOWARDS YOUR FEET.

MALPE BEACH HAS NOW HAS VERY GOOD RESTAURANT.

Though udupi is temple place to visit for orthodox indians but also it is equally very ENJOYABLE FOR ANY TYPE OF INDIANS FOR FUN FUN FILLED DAY ANDNIGHTS.

udupi being a small town family members can explore the place individually.

YES IT IS EASY NOT TO GET LOST.

You have MARAVANTHE BEACH, KUNDAPURA BEACH AND ALSO GANESHA TEMPLE .

Daily you can make darshan of temple and get the blessing of god krishna and make short visit to all the places that is very easy to find out.

YOU DONT HAVE TO MAKE ANY EFFORT SINCE BUSES ARE THERE ALL THE TIME.

WALK WALK INSIDE THE TOWN AND THERE IS A GREAT FEEL OF HOW NICE TO WALK AND FEEL AT HOME.

Udupi has got narrow lane type of houses constructed and it is all fun to walk and feel each home is single type with compound .VEGETARIAN WILL REALLY RELISH BECAUSE IT IS SO SOUTH INDIAN FOOD.

DIANA HOTEL FAMOUS REALLY.

Just visit diana hotel and though this small town has it it has culture that suits to you.

EAT MASALA DOSA, IDLIS, FAMOUS COFFEE DRINK AND FORGET TIME.

Eating along with family group the joy of MASALA DOSA ITS SMELL MAKE YOU TO EAT NOT TWO BUT THREE. Yes masala dosa is really tasty with coconut chutney.

Malpe beach is one of the good beaches in coastal karnataka.It is 5 k.m. from udupi town.Udupi town is famous for Sri Krishna temple.The udupi district is 425 km from Bangalore.

If you are planning to cover mangalore udupi kolluru Dharmastals etc then better take your own vehicle so that you use your time in better way than planning other mode of travel.Malpe has fisheries port so you can vist the port too but for beach you need to travel 2 km north from malpe where you can see clean beach.

Sundays lot of local people will visit this beach. The other place you can visit is Saint maries island.For that you have to keep one day.there are private boats availble .Udupi has lot of good hotels like kediyoor karavali Sharada etc. You get fresh fish foods here in udupi hotels.If you like Mangalore preparation like kori roti fish fry then you can try all this udupi hotels.

We had been to the Malpe beach, Udupi in March .. not the best time .. since it was very hot in the afternoons ..Ideal time would Nov - Feb !

It was a 7-hr drive from ban galore by car. there was a stretch of really bad road in between, rest f the journey was good.

We checked in Paradise Isle Beach Resort.. decent place to stay ..

The first impression about the beach --> the water was so clear and blue .. felt like dipping in whole day.. We stayed at the beach till sunset which was beautiful..

Had some snacks the restaurant at the beach side and took a stroll... Being a weekend it was very crowded with the local people and all sorts of roadside sales ..

The next morning, we decided to indulge in some water sports.. Sadly there were no Parasailing and Banana Boat ride.. So we could just enjoy Bumpy Boat ride..which was different and fun.. And rode the water scooter which was a thrilling experience ..

We could not go to the St Mary's Island ..which is an hour from the Malpe beach .. heard that its beautiful too  ..

A great place and beach getaway for friends and family .. but one should avoid weekends if you need serene and peaceful holiday

The pristine beauty of the Malpe Beach is complemented by peaceful surroundings; which makes it a favorite holiday spot. Malpe beach is 392 km from Bangalore and 66 km north of Mangalore.This beach is quite different. It's a long, broad, town beach, undeveloped but likely to grow when a large beach-hotel, under construction, is completed. It has the best restaurants available in the famed area. A short drive from an Udupi restaurant in the town brings us to the fishing harbor where one can board a tourist ferry. Chugging across a bay, towing a speedboat behind us. Heading for the uninhabited St. Mary's Island, when the ferry anchors offshore, one can climb into the speedboat, beached on the island, and can hop ashore. Its unique rocks are black and thrust up out of the golden sand like stacked Turkish cigarettes as defiantly dramatic as they are ancient. This is neither swimming nor a strolling beach. It's a beach to be gazed and wondered at; and it's the only one of its kind in India.
