Maharaja Fatehsingh Museum And Laxmi Vilas Palace, Vadodara

The Laxmi Vilas Palace is a monument that depicts royalty, wealth, power and beauty in the true sense. It is one of the grandest monuments in India, which has a mix of architectural styles to add to its mystic beauty.

It was built as a place of residence for Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad, in the Indo - Saracenic style of architecture. This means that elements from Indian, Islamic and Gothic style were used in this.

It has been preserved very well, and a portion of it is still occupied by today's royals. Hence, not all of the palace is open for viewing.

However, it is a huge property, that also has an enormous durbar of a double-storeyed height, a lake, a golf course, a step-well and so much more,
