Firstly, the flight starting from Bangalore was 1 hour late, Lufthansa flight crew smartly threw a crap veg role with coffee/coke at 5:00 in the morning, i am pretty sure everyone was tired checking in since 10:00pm indian time and only 25% of passengers had that waste veg role. Soon the flight attendant asked everyone to close the window slide and announced that they will serve breakfast 2 hours prior to landing in frankfurt. few people woke ip early, hungry asking for something to eat … and all lufthansa crew clearlg rejected saying we will serve later, serve later … kids starving from hinger and crew was clear racial saying we will serve later. what next ? 45 minutes before landing crew started serving bad bad breakfast no option of veg or non veg and within 10 minutes they tan to pick up the served plates as the flight was about to land … did not allow passengers to eat ! One of the worst racist behavior towards all economy class passengers. Damn ! this is 2nd time i am experiencing such act by any airline and i have flown many (over 500k miles)

I had an unfortunate encounter with Lufthansa's customer service, which significantly marred my overall experience. I want to highlight that this review pertains specifically to their call center and counter customer service, not their in-flight service.


Here's the sequence of events that transpired:




  1. Failed Online Booking: When attempting to purchase two tickets on their website, the site froze upon clicking "purchase." No success page was displayed.




  2. Immediate Contact: In response, I promptly called the airline to clarify the situation. They assured me that no flights had been booked.




  3. Successful Booking on Expedia: To secure our travel, we successfully purchased the tickets through Expedia.




  4. Unexpected Charge: Shockingly, a week later, an unexplained charge of$3500 appeared on our credit card from the initial unsuccessful Lufthansa booking.




  5. Unhelpful Customer Service: Contacting Lufthansa, I was informed that it was too late to cancel the flight. Despite our numerous attempts to resolve the issue, the customer service representatives seemed uninterested in assisting, consistently deflecting responsibility.




  6. Disputed Charge: We sought resolution through Amex, but our efforts were futile due to a lack of proof for the original call.




  7. Airport Frustration: Upon arrival at the airport, we encountered further frustration. Lufthansa's representatives continued evading responsibility, resulting in wasted time and no resolution.




  8. Traveling with Extra Seats: Ultimately, my wife and I were left traveling with four seats, a predicament that was entirely avoidable.






In retrospect, it is evident that Lufthansa's customer service approach is deeply flawed. Their apparent lack of concern for the considerable inconvenience and financial burden placed on customers raises serious questions about their commitment to providing satisfactory service.


Regrettably, this ordeal has left an indelible mark on our perception of Lufthansa. We unequivocally will not consider flying with them again in the future.

Flew this summer with Lufthansa(short and long haul). 3 out of 4 of the flights were delayed by over 40 minutes. According to their announcements, the turn around times of their schedules are too tight – not allowing them to run on schedule Nor to service them properly between flights – the toilets on 2 of the planes had not been cleaned properly, with dirty surfaces and smelling of urine. Unfortunately their running late resulted in us missing a connection, for which cost us over 300 pounds I arranging alternative travel(with 2 young children). The new business model of the Airline appears to be run a service which is late – they know that under the EU Directive they do not have to compensate for delays over 3 hours, and are making the most of this to ruin their customers travel plan and holidays. Do yourself a favour and try another Airline that can run a service on time. Avoid the stress and unplanned expense of flying with Lufthansa.

Hi, I have had such an ordeal at the Bengaluru airport with the Lufthansa official telling me I could not fly to the UK(for which I have a valid Visa) because I do not gave a transit visa to fly through Frankfurt. My travel agent did not inform me of this requirement and after being chucked out of the airport I could find this information easily except on the German site. If the transit visa requirement is mandatory why is not mentioned when the ticket is booked? I now see many people have had this issue. why has Lufthansa not made this requirement explicit in their booking site? Is this a new way to do shady business? I hopeLufthansa responds to my query. I hope you will process my refund request.

Indian Nationals Must avoid this airline

I was denied boarding while flying to Mumbai from London because of lack of transit visa even though I have UK residence permit. This is due to new Brexit rule. I was stranded on airport with family and had to buy a very expensive ticket. Their customer support doesn't get connected saying they are "very busy". Their counter at airport was utter chaotic with lots of customers facing issues and missing flights, denied boarding. They should be no n operational with such type of service. Please avoid this airline. I had a horrible experience of life and will never use it.

Horrifying experience with Lufthansa 3 weeks back in April 2022. I had to travel to Birmingham UK through Lufthansa via Munich with my 14 year old daughter. Web check in was already done, it was 11:30 at night and I had travelled to Mumbai with my daughter from Chandigarh. At the baggage drop counter, we were denied to fly through Lufthansa as they said rules have come that travelling through Germany requires transit visa. Being a lady with a kid, I requested authorities to guide me with the process but all I got was cold rude response and they just mentioned to book another flight. There I was stranded at airport with no clue what to do next. I tried calling customer support, but no response. I requested Lufthansa staff even the senior authorities there to call at customer care and to guide me but they dealt with me like deaf ears.


I had to book another flight then which proved to be very costly as it was last minute. It was such a horrifying experience, how did they allow web checkin? Why couldnt they assist a lady travelling with a child who did not even belong to that city? Why did lufthansa staff not call at customer support even though I requested them 100 times?


I will never ever book this flight again due to the hassle faced at airport and due to such pathetic customer service!

I had booked BOM-MAN_BOM on Lufthansa in March, but had to cancel the tickets because of Covid-19 pandemic. The Lufthansa site said full refund. However, in spite of two reminders, I have not received anything.


Their India phone number, 1800-102-5838 does not work. After a few options, you seem to be connected to a human, but the phone quickly cuts off. I have never been able to get through.

I was told on March 10 that Lufthansa would refund my money for a cancelled flight. Today is April 2, over 3 weeks later, and I still have not received my money. When I called today, I was told to “be patient.” Tell me, why did United Airlines (despite whatever you might think of United) refund my money for the identical flight 2 days later?! How much time does it take to credit my credit card?! Why is Lufthansa intentionally hanging on to my money?

I would like to file a complaint about the flight with Lufthansa on 28/12/2019


Flight LH 507(GRU 18:45 To Frankfurt)


Seat 27A window I have paid extra for more legroom 100€


I noticed before my flight starts that the entertainment screen arm was broken and I have contacted one of the cabin crew to check that as it's a 12-hour flight I also couldn't check safety flight instructions or simply watch a movie as it keeps dropping off.


I requested to change my seat and I was told it's not possible and I was left without any help to fix the issue or change to a similar seat as I have paid extra 100€ for that seat and expected everything working.


It's very frustrating this situation as I have to purchase in-flight Internet to be able to have entertainment.

I wish I could give it 0 stars. Lufthansa is a pathetic airline which should not be allowed in any other country.


My wife was traveling through Lufthansa on 3rd july from Delhi to San Francisco via Frankfurt. Flight from Delhi to Frankfurt got delayed by 2.5 hrs due to which connecting flight was missed. After talking to several people new flight was booked on next day which means my wife had to stay in Franfurt airport for 24 hrs. While the new flight was being booked everyone was getting stay and food but only Indian were being denied for stay and food but rest everyone who were US citizen or citizen of other country were granted stay and food. They said you they will not provide the stay to my wife. Moreover, the airport closes at 6:30 PM, so you won't see anyone at the airport too.


I had to book a stay for my wife for which I payed. After the trip when I called the airlines they said to submit a reimbursement. After submitting the reimbursement if was a long to and fro where they reply after 5 days saying same thing that they won't reimburse because they flight delay happened because of AIR TRAFFIC control and they are not liable for that. Stupid reason from stupid airlines.


Pathetic airlines. 0 star airline.


If you want to your travel to be pleasant don't choose this airline(specially Indians).

Terrible experience with this airline. Their online check-in is a joke. I purchased the premium economy seat (2 seats configuration at the end) & did an online check-in 20 hrs before. However, I was given middle seat in the middle 4 seat configuration. Absolutely cattle class.


The food they serve is another apathy to mankind. Quality as well as quantity is way below what Emirates offers. Qatar too.


The vent for air flow was missing. One's at the mercy of the cabin crew, for the temperature they set. Not way to self select.


The media content they offer is more of an afterthought. Begs a lot to be desired.


After travelling in multiple airlines I feel Emirates & jet to offer best experience.

I usually travel by emirates but this time I chose Lufthansa to try a different airline. Worst ever experience. They never landed in time both ways. While returning my flight got delayed by an hour for no reason, boarding started right time but he took off an hour late and never made it to right time. Though my complete booking of travel is through Lufthansa they never considered to wait for already checked in people to board the flight even for 10 min extra!! Disgusting service. I had to take 2 different flights again to reach my destination adding 10 hours extra travel time!!!

I've actually stopped using Lufthansa for over ten years now. When they changed my assigned seat without notice and gave it to someone else and threaten to remove me from the plane if I refused to sit in the middle where the new seat was assigned.


This year, my mom, wanted to visit my brother on the way home, and since my brother lives in Frankfurt, she booked a ticket on Lufthansa. Big mistake.


On international flights, on one of the routes, you are allowed two 23kg luggage and for the rest you have to pay. The information on Luf. website is very confusing, they have routing sections, and numbers but no clear explanation from point A to B. So, I called the customer service number and asked what the cost would be. She took my reservation number, checked the flight and came back with the quote that it would cost$125.00


Fast forward, at the airport, at the checking counter, looking to checkin the extra bag and we are asked to pay$230. Obv. at this point, there is nothing you can do, except pay. You know how whenever you try to reason with them, they turn into an emotionless parrot, and keep repeating themselves? It must be some sort of a training and brain-washing techniques that apparently all these companies' employees go through. So, anyway, I paid.


Then I wrote a complaint to Luf. After two weeks of no reply and sending two emails, I got a canned response, this time the parrot could write.:-)


Useless, incompetent people. Now, my mom will never fly Luf.

My flight was from frankfurt to mumbai and the Flight crew members were so disrespectful aggressive full of racial attitude towards Indian travellers ...I ever experienced such fascism in any international flight.They charging too much and behaving bad in return. Since then I avoid travelling from lufthansa.

Hi friends I want to share my personal experience about Lufthansa.


Worth of an airline is best judges not when everything is going smoothly but when things screw up.


About 30 passengers who left from AD( DC) to Chennai on January 25th were put thru lots of troubl. Flight delayed in DC causing the connections miss in Frankfurt.


No Laftansa official to help with acco or food till someone went and help themself. Plus irritating statements like You R travelling in the cheapest class, we can't provide accommodation for you. Finally these folks stayed in a hotel spending their own money pretty ridiculous. isn't it? !


My parents were and they have had enough with the Frankfurt stopover just on their return. Plus added to all this when they get to Chennai after 24 hour delay, no baggage. Thankfully They brought the bags from later.


The problem Isn't that the flight was delayed. But the treatment meted out to folks when something like this happens.


Moral of the trip: If you are sure everything is gonna be fine? use Luftt else please please please make other flight arrangements.

It was a great feeling when I got selected to represent my country in mr. universe bodybuilding championship held in italy in oct 2014. we were all 9 sports persons got selected and we were about to decide for the best airlines in our budget class. when we went for opting for the same to a travel agent's office in connaught place and at the time he showed us the comparisons of travel fare between so many airlines we were not having any option but to opt for air lufthansa only. and while flying with lufthansa the amazing world class quality of their services they offered with the proper professional behavior with a great cooperation too. I would love to book my next tickets with lufthansa very soon.

The ticket was avalible in there online and agent through.the check counter was the easy to check the material veru fast.


In side the airline the seat was very confortable to seat extra large space in the economy class also the first class the too much amazing service provide in side the airlines.


To serve the food quality was too much fresh and good healthy food to serve the pessenger to airlines.


The captain to news 1hs by hrs also the seat screen the enterminent was too much good.enjoy in the airlines.


The air hosted was very good to care the pessenger in the crew tha all staff waa really good in crew.


The lufthasan provide service our world wide to country to country that waa too much good service provide.
