Breezy music
May 10, 2005 11:58 AM 2405 Views

Lucky's music is by the Heavy metallic Adnan Sami .

The first track is ' Jaan Meri Jaa Rahi Sanam '. Lyrics wise the no. is impressiveand of high quality and overall the number will definitely be a pathbreaker.

' Sun Zara ' => Sonu Nigam is at his best in conveying pain of separation through his vocals.

' Sun Zara ' remix=> cannot categorise this as a remix. it is far far better than what we hear today. it has excellent musical arrangements.

' Lucky Lips '=> This particular phrase I think has been lifted from some old english song, dont remember which one. Neverthless excellent music and bursting the charts right now.

' Hum Deewane ' =>After such lovely songs come this no. which is OK but pale in comparison with the previous numbers.

' Chori Chori ' =>Phew!! Back to melody again. Excellent no. and well sung by sonu nigam.

'Shayad Yahi To Pyar Hai ' =>by Lataji and Adnan himself. A slow but soothing number. A perfect end to exceelent album.

Why is there no time for love?
Mar 28, 2005 10:33 AM 4827 Views

How does it feel to be loved?

LOVE...

These people are lucky, in a way, to experience this one syllable which can mean everything to them. ‘These people’ are me, you and us. Will love exist forever? Where is the place of music in love? How much can someone love someone else? Is love really being given the importance it deserves? And how many are faking the love? Questions and answers cannot exist so much on something we cannot touch but can only be felt by the heart by all living things.

‘Lucky’ came at a time which redefined the purpose of music in Bollywood. Adnan Sami exposed to the musical world, melodies, remixes and the finest music. When was the last time we heard something different from the Maliks, the Rahmans and the Jatin-Lalits. Accept the change or I should better say; please appreciate the smooth transition to a more romantically intellectual music. Sameer scraped all his old lyrical textbooks and wrote something which amazed me.

+++++

Shayad Yahi To Pyar Hai:Romantic Energy- The Many Questions of Love Blended In Music…

Did you know? It’s the second album after many years where both Ashaji and Lataji are featuring together. The first one recently was Page 3.

Bewildering of whether this is love or what is it; the confusion of emotions are vocally expressed with soulful lyrics by both singers. The mix of romantic instrumental notes coupled with the ever-soothing background score creates the perfect timing for both to render without pressure

Adnan Sami: He sings as the romanticist with great passion about his answers for love.

Lata Mangeshkar: Lataji sounds very different from Veer-Zaara and truly excels. Her vocal cords are used without pressure.

Music Arrangements:Tranquil instruments with the right variation in the chords of the violins, an adequate flute flow and an easy touch on the piano. Superb orchestral follow-up for the antras.

+++++

Lucky Lips: Let’s bring jazz to Bollywood Music but wait…

Did you know? The chorus is partially lifted from the British Band ‘Wham!’s track ‘Everything She Wants’!

A modern cabaret piece with a fresh tune and yes it starts with a Colonial Cousins style. Then there is the sparkling chorus punctuated by dramatic pounds on the tabla. It is packaged to be sexy and entertains.

Asha Bhonsle: Why did it take so long to do it like RD Burman? Yes listening to this rather jazz Indian fusion, it seems that Ashaji is singing in the Burman mood.

Music Arrangements: The piece amalgamates all the elements of a bar jazz track; the soft piano, the repeated tabla and the fusion must-have. His orchestration is vivid throughout.

+++++

Jaan Meri Jaa Rahi Sanam: Emmm….heard before!

Did you know? The song carries the same feel as the Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s romantic songs in Kachche Dhaage. Why this influence?

Lost in the mountains, with birds flying in the blue sky and calves running around; both lovers try to show how much they are deep in love.

Udit Narayan: After singing a lot of songs for the sake of money, Udit finally sings the right song suited for his voice. His voice extracts the best romantic pronunciations.

Anuradha Paudwal: Who would think that it’s Anuradha singing? Her voice is innocent.

Music Arrangements : Excellent with an exact dose to make it the right filmi romantic song.

+++++

Sun Zara: Will the love really listen such a song and lyrics?

Did you know? The start consists of some kind of Gregorian Chants and the synthetic flute- a strong inspiration from ‘Sadeness’- Enigma.

The song can said to be different but I cannot agree on the word ‘different’. The tune itself is new to Bollywood music. In technical terms, no raag has been used but the use of different notes in such a way is not heard often.

Sonu Nigam: Feeling a bit sleepy while singing. He could have put more soul to it but he managed to finish the song decently.

Adnan Sami Version: You can spot the difference when a composer sings his own tune. The quality is better in terms of singing; the delivering of the lines is accurate and the breath pauses are controlled meticulously. Excellent singing!!!

Music Arrangements: Highly Westernized with shades of European influence all over. The acoustics and the jazzy feel once again. The violin is orchestrated with great care.

+++++

Hum Deewane: Typical Bollywood Song

Did you know? Adnan Sami likes using lots of Arabian and Middle East musical notes in all his songs, including previously released albums.

‘Hum Deewane’: The two words which are present in the minds of all lyricists. Have these two words already made it to the title of a film? A fast pace track.

Sonu Nigam: One of these standard songs he is used to sing.

Anuradha Paudwal: She is just accompanying Sonu.

Music Arrangements: Arabian influence with a well used chorus. Variety of instruments used.

+++++

Chori Chori: Easy words = So-So song

Did you know? Although this song seems simple, the mukhda is quite long and not easy to compose.

Yeah it’s about these standard hindi flim songs which started from the 90s. Both are already in their most lovable state and showing how happy they are.

Sonu Nigam: A rather better effort from Judge Sonu.

Alka Yagnik: She is an expert when it comes to these songs.

Music Arrangements: Sami just put the bare efforts for this song. In short, a song arranged quickly. Instruments include the violins and the usual interludes.

+++++

REMIXES!!!

Lubov Mix: The Sun Zara Mix by Adnan Sami

A 3m43s track: better than 5 remixes being played everyday. Echoing the two words, ‘Sun Zara’ in a very jazzy mix once again. The percussions with this inner peace music with the multiple uses of the violins and the guitars really free the imagination. [No it’s not the best I have heard but a close competitor with Rahman’s themes and creativity on mixing. The ‘Taal Se Taal Mila’(Taal)- Western Remix is a gem by Rahman]

Lucky Lips – Bolshoi Mix - Asha Bhonsle

70’s percussions and style, Asha’s remix voice and the sound effects make this remix an absolute must-listen. Subtle ambiences are throughout the piece. Also contains deeply chilled sounds!

+++++

Why should you buy the album?

  1. Adnan makes a move from his albums and try to give new shapes to romantic songs.

  2. He made Lataji sings one of the best songs ever given to her in recent times.

  3. A Bollywood soundtrack with excellent remixes, rarely heard.

  4. It is an audio tonic for souls aching for deeper meaning, romantic inner peace and great beats.

Lucky: No Time For Love (?)

Yes there is time for love. With such heart-touching melodies, remixes and singing, surely, Adnan Sami shows that when we put love with music, there is a vital connection.

Teri Kasam - it is good.
Feb 17, 2005 04:35 PM 3135 Views

When I heard his private pop albums like “Tera chehra” and “Teri Kasam”, I thought why bollywood didn’t embrace him as a composer for movies yet. As most of the movies in bollywood are turning out to be romantic melodramas, the style of composition of Adnan Sami would justify any love based movies and moreover it will enhance the love theme beyond what is written in the script. And now my thought has come true with this album “Lucky”. And Adnan’s favorite Sameer has penned the https://lyrics. The album has totally 9 songs which includes two remixes and a repeat song. The album has got right mix of both melodious and foot tapping numbers.

Love for Music To Music for Love

Adnan has his own style of composing songs. With adequate knowledge in Indian classical, western classical and modern music, the style of his composition emerges out to be a new sound that we can hear only from Adnan. One should love music very much to create an immortal music for love and its pain. Adnan has got that love and has taken immense effort and pain to compose some of lovable tracks on melodious love.

Tune

He ropes in an excellent tune at first and then starts to give it a shape with his skills on orchestrations and arrangements. Life of song lies in its tune and melody and not on the orchestration and the instruments is what I believe. My belief is verified true when I hear the songs of Adnan, just hum the tune of his song, you will get all the effect required. And that is why some of the unplugged versions of his songs are more soulful and touching than songs with lot of instruments. Having said that, I don’t mean that instruments are not necessary, a proper choice and usage of instruments and orchestrations will add beauty to the tune. Adnan is excellent in this department especially. You could hear lot of instruments layered parallel doing things differently but when put together merges into a single sound flowing in the air, pouring deep emotions in our soul and thus adds value and beauty to the song.

Instruments

The most heard instrument in his songs is tabla; he is still widening the ways of using this instrument and with it he sets a unique rhythm to the songs. Listen how differently the table is put to use in all the six songs of varied situations and emotions in this album. This variety in tabla usage makes his songs unique.

The Solo Violin is one instrument which can dig our hearts deep and fill it with emotions. Having understood that, he uses it to maximum when needed to sound the pain of love and separation which he does effectively in the song “Sun Zara”.

If a solo violin can dig a well in our hearts to fill the emotions, a group violin orchestration can dig a lake in our hearts and create an ambience of the song in addition to the emotion. Adnan uses such group violins best along with the vocals in the background to enhance the impact of the https://lyrics. Also some of the stand alone orchestral pieces in the preludes and interludes in his songs are awesome that completely transports you to a different world. Almost all the songs in this album have got group violins either in the background or in the preludes and interludes. The one that I liked the most is that of “Shayad Yahi” song.

Piano pieces are for subtlety and it mostly resonates the sound of silence that emerges when two souls speaks out with their eyes out of pure love. The piano pieces are good in “Jaan Meri sanam” song.

Flute is the favorite sound of most of music lovers which adds divinity when used in love songs. The soothing sound of it can elevate even a mediocre tune. Flute pieces in “Jaan Meri” and “Shayad Yahi” are just great.

He has also used lot of strings like Sitar, Guitar etc., at apt places along with other above mentioned instruments and this is where the arrangements comes into play. The positioning and sequencing of the instruments at proper places in very important element of this magic work called music composition. A flute with group violin orchestra ending with a guitar and transporting the tune to a solo violin with piano and all sorts of permutations and combinations with instruments have to be tried to make the song sound more vibrant and sparkling. Adnan is a master in this art too and does it finely. His mastery is evident in the way Adnan used guitar and flute in “Jaan Meri” song, sitar, flute and veena in “Shayad yahi” song, guitar and solo violins in “Sun Zara” song.

Fast and Peppy

Adnan apart from love songs has composed two peppy foot tapping numbers “Lucky Lips” and “Chori Chori”. “Deewane” song is a complete misfit in the album, but I liked the tempo and the orchestrations of that song too but the only problem with that song was the age old beat and rhythm typical of bollywood music. I should add more on “Lucky Lips” song which is very different among the lot. The basic rhythm, funky guitar and beats make the song instantly catchy. It pulls your legs to tap and nerves to shake your body instantly.

Remix

And Adnan proves that he is good in western music too. The remixes are worth listening and are equal good as its original version. The western beats and synthesizers are used at an optimum level so that it doesn’t disturb the soul of the songs. “Sun Zara” remix is almost like an instrumental with Adnan’s voice sounding at a distance. “Lucky Lips” remix is sure to be a chart buster.

Other Singers in Adnan’s Music?

I always wanted to listen to other singers in Adnan’s music and this wish also comes true with this album. This album is real treat with singers being at their best. Udit is at his usual best in “Jaan Meri” song. Anuradha Paudwal is a refreshing change in “Jaan Meri” song because Alka is repeated often in such songs these days. Sonu Nigam is at his emotive and expressive best in “Sun Zara”. Asha Bhonsle is at her “Haye, ho, ha, aiye” best in “Lucky lips” song. Alka yagnik is a bit nasal in “Chori Chori”. Adnan proves his expressive singing abilites with his version of “Sun Zara” which I would say is better than that of Sonu’s. Lataji has managed to control her voice in “Shayad Yahi” song and sounds good without being nasal.

But…

Having written all about the music, I doubt whether Adnan has moved forward as a composer or not. Well, my personal opinion is “Not”. He did the same thing which he has been doing all these days. Well, the reason may be that it was what his director would have expected from him. Though he has a unique likable style, he is repeating the same formula again and again. He has to open up different zones in music and hope he would do in future. Read the review again without the songs being mentioned, the same review can be repeated for any of his previous albums. Well, what do you think about this?

LUCKY: No Time for Love

Starring:Salman Khan, Mithun, and introducing Sneha Ullal

Directed by:Radhika Rao & Vinay Sapru

Produced by:Bhushan & Krishna Kumar & Sohail Khan

Music by:Adnan Sami

Lyrics penned by:Sameer

Adnan Sami a famous pop singer has mesmerized India with his husky voice and romantic croons... Yet I never enjoyed his music... I thought it was quite odd... But hearing his first hindi film album he has created has blown my ears away. Now I have seen the true genius in him... Those who said this album is a hangover from his own pop albums are entirely wrong! This album should hit #1 on the charts because it totally deserves it!

And I have proof...

Jaan Meri Ja Rahi Sanam - Udit Narayan & Anuradha Paudwal

This song has a very sweet beginning with soft piano notes along with a peaceful violin/orchestra in the background. You can hear Anuradha's fainted hum as well. It is like those heavenly music you hear in your dreams. You can instantly know that this song will be picturized on someone dreaming about that special person. You can also already tell that this will be a great romantic song that will be in your head for a while and you will not stop listening to it. Not being a good fan of Udit's voice but he has exceptionally well along with Anuradha surprisingly. She could have done better though.

The best part about this song is the tabla beats, the flute swaying with the orchestra and my favourite, where the lead guitar is rocking along in the verses. I love it in the first verse, where as Udit sings his line, and Anuradha hums along behind his voice. Waah! Kya guitar and tabla hai! I am so surprised and happy to hear the wonderful lyrics Sameer has written for the first time! You won't believe it is his work! My favourite line is:

Kya ladakpan hai kya jawaani hai

What is childhood, what is youth?

Ab tumhare naam saari zindagaani hai

Now my whole life belongs to you

Kya haqeekat hai kya kahaani hai

What is real, what's make believe?

Saamne mere mere sapnon ki raani hai

In front of me stands my dream girl

MY RATING: 9.5/10

Sun Zara - Sonu Nigam

Inspired by one of Sonu's pop song in the beginning, it seems like we heard one too many Catholic hymns in hindi songs - I know I have. But hearing the unique beats right in the beginning that included the snare drum and Indian drums, it made me want to listen to more. I like the whole aspect of using the sad guitar, sad violin coinciding with Sonu's voice. Though the verse music may sound quite mediocre but just listen to the guitar in this song - I simply love the tempo. It's a great sad song whereas Sonu is no doubt amazing. Hear out how the beats changes to a traditional hindi song in the verse. Adnan has really experimented well mixing with Westernindian. Classic. Adnan also knows a lot by creating such amazing tunes from simple instruments. Hear out the violin just before the second verse.

My favourite line includes:

Beethe lamhon ke saaye toh bas yehi dham gaye hai

From past moments' shadows

Yaad mujhe aaye teri baatein

I think of your conversations...

Palkon ke surk chaader pe ashk bhi jam gaye hai

Underneath the red gaze ectasy/passion has frozen

Teri aankhon se na hathti ankein

I can't take my eyes off yours...

MY RATING: 9/10

Shayad Yahi - Adnan Sami & Lata Mangeshkar

We were missing an Adnan voice weren't we? Don't worry, it made sense why he sang this particular song since it is THE BEST SONG IN THIS ALBUM! Perfect! Lata and Adnan have blown me away! Seriously they have. This song is better than ''Tere Liye'' from Veer-Zaara. I'm telling you! And the lyrics are just aww... This song began with a sad and simple flute overlapped from the strings section. I gotta say, the music is no indian - but more of a classical note. Adnan bringing his romantic tone out with the committed tabla beats. So refreshing! So simple and beautiful. Seriously just listen to the song, because I cannot come up with better word to describe this magnificent number. Gotta give an standing ovation to Adnan's ideas and his tabla player. Sitar, strings, piano, tablas, Lata, and

Adnan.. What more could you ask for? Hands down, the best part is the music before the verses. My favourite line:

Lata: Nazrein bichaade pehre lagade dil pe; par dil kisiki na maane

Adnam: Kaanton pe chalke sholon mein jalke roke; milke rahenge diwaane ooh oooo

MY RATING: 10.5/10! (can I do that?)

Chori Chori - Sonu Nigam & Alka Yagnik

Catchy, very catchy with the male chorus synchronizing the tabla beats. It's unique, fresh. I love the spunky bass and lead guitar dancing with the beats. Sonu and Alka sounds very cute together in this nunber. Gotta give it up for Adnan with his fresh ways to present music. The male chorus are really talented and they are the highlight of the song. It did kind sound very South Indian. I really love the percussive beats in this song. I don't know why everyone is saying it is a typical love song - maybe the lyrics is - but definately not the music. It's a great, foot-tapping number. Pretty good for a car ride, you may want to clap along with this song. My favourite line:

Yun beeti jaaye apne milne ki ghadi

Our time together will get wasted this way

Apne milne ki yeh ghadi

This time of ours

Main boloon toh kya, kaisi mushkil aa padi

I tell you, this is such a bother

Kaisi mushkil yeh aa padi

MY RATING: 8/10

Lucky Lips - Asha Bhosle

Asha?! Asha?! Yes! She is in this album! We haven't heard her in a while. She sings the second best song in this album - IMHO. The title 'Lucky Lips' may sound like a instrumental to you, but it's not. It did in the beginning... But Asha's ''Hai Rama Rama Ho'' was perfectly on time. I immediately got into the song. It's like a jazzy, calypso, and salsa kind of music. Something unique and something Nadeem-Shravan, Reshammiya, Vishal-Shekhar and others cannot do. This did however sounded like an Usha Uthup song, but it is not, because Usha's music is corny. Asha simply shines through the song.

I LOVE the way the tabla is used - like the way the drums is used. Gotta love the trumpets, horns, guitars and the female chorus - very westernized and cool. You may be surprised by the lyrics at first, but to me it is great. It represent the teenage girls (including me!) waiting for their Prince Charming. I think the lyrics are cute! I love it, preppy, catchy. Can you believe Asha is almost in her 80s and she is singing songs like this?!?! AMAZING!

Aayaga Koi, Bahon Mein Lekhai, Choomaiga Mere Yeh LUCKY LIPS.. Ay Hai!

MY RATING: 9/10

LUCKY-No Time For Love- Music Review

LUCKY- NO TIME FOR LOVE (SHORT MUSIC REVIEW)

Let me tell you guys, the album is great, but not a classic like Tere Naam, but an album that you'll enjoy!

1) Jaan Mera Ja - Excellent singing by Udit and Anuradha and great lyrics from Sameer. Adnan rocks with his composition. If you love the title track of Tera Chahra, then there's no reason why you can't love this one. One of the best songs on the album (and probably the year) and an instant chartbuster song. 9.5/10

2) Sun Zara - Great singing from Adnan Sami, but Sonu Nigam version was the best, backed up with good lyrics from Sameer. Adnan Sami definitely know to balance the composition very well. It one song that will grow on you everytime you listen to it There's three version to it. 8.5/10

3) Shayad Yahi To Pyar Hai - EASILY THE BEST SONG OF THE ALBUM! This is the Lata Mangeshkar that I have loved for all the times I hear her sing, and its truly backed by Adnan Sami, who is amazing to support her. Adnan Sami composition is great and Sameer is excellent in this song. A instant love song, but whether its a chartbuster will be find out, but for me, its the best song and and probably a classic in my books. 10/10

4) Chori Chori - Well, this is your regular Salman Khan routine love song. However, due to Adnan Sami music, the singing from Alka Yagnik and Sonu Nigam manage to make this song fun. An above average song. 7.5/10

5) Lucky Lips - Well personally, I didn't like this song at first, but for some reason, its growing on me. Asha Bhosle still sounds great and it will be best be shown when the movie releases. By all, an average track, however it may be liked by many people. It has grown on me for what reason. 7/10

6) Hum Deewane - This is your regular love track from Bollywood. Nothing new with the composition, nor the lyrics nor the singing. Just your regular song. 6/10

Overall Rating: 8.1/10

Overall Comment: This album will definitely be a high-selling album on the music market and probably a the best-selling album of 2005 as it appeals to the class and the mass. This album is great, but not classic. Don't buy it expecting a clasic album, buy it as a regular album. Adnan Sami is great and hope he continues in the future and Lata Mangeshkar. SO GO AND BUY IT. PLEASE BUY THE ORIGINAL ALBUM AS IT CONTAINS PICTURES AND THE LYRICS OF EACH SONG! BEWAFAA YOU HAVE COMPETITION WITH LUCKY!

:::Salman Khan's Lucky::: Music Review:::
Feb 05, 2005 05:45 PM 12531 Views

LUCKY-NO TIME FOR LOVE

Adnan Sami has unique style of composing. We can easily distinguish his tunes and arrangements from other MD’s.

Lucky’s star cast includes Salman Khan, Sneha Ullal and Mithun da.

After listening to Lucky Album, we feel it has Tera Chehra hangover. If you loved Adnan’s Tera Chehra and Teri Kasam, then Lucky is definitely for you.

The album starts with a beautiful romantic track Jaan Meri Jaa Rahe Sanam. The tune is very soothing and melodious. With Udit narayan and Anurada Paudwal rendering, you definitely feel the song is elevated. Adnan’s tune is very simple with effective arrangements which are similar to Tera Chehra song. Lyrics by Sammer are wonderful; they enhance the quality of the song. This track is likely to be a chartbuster.

Next comes soniye sun zara rendered by Sonu Nigam.This one is also a melodious soft number. Sonu has put in lot of effort and the output is amazing. An interesting point to observe is the way Sonu renders in the last few seconds of the song. He has tried something different, that is different type of singing, like changing the octaves and voice, and it is mesmerizing. Lyrics by Sammer are adequate. This song will surely find its audience.

Ashaji comes out with a Peppy Track Lucky Lips. This song is interesting because this type of arrangements and fusion type has rarely been attempted. Ashaji is as usual at her best rendering hai rama rama ho. The way Ashaji has rendered sounds similar to Shabba Shabba song from Daud. The way beats and Dholkas have been used simultaneously with saxophone behind it are remarkable, surely is a chartbuster.

Then comes by favorite track Sun Zara (the lubov mix) sung by Adnan. The track is more of an instrumental one with lots of beats and Adnan rendering Sun Zara in various styles and his voice is simply attention-grabbing. If you think this track only involves beats, you are wrong, it has lots of electric guitars, saxophone, violins and very good arrangements. It also goes classical in few places but still looks modern. Amazing work by Adnan!

Hum Deewane by Sonu Nigam and Anuradha Paudwal is definitely the weak link in the album. It seems Adnan has forced himself to compose in a different manner which has ruined the song. The song fails in all department, let it be the tune, singing or lyrics this song is a complete letdown. Skip this track!

Next comes Lucky Lips (bolshoi mix)-- truly awesome. It has got some fantastic beats, lots of loops and amazing arrangements. The song progresses in an energetic manner. All marks to Ashaji for her stupendous vocals and Adnan’s fascinating arrangements.

How can an album be complete without an Alka Yagnik track? Sonu joins her in chori chori which is again a romantic track. This one reminds us of Tera Chehra album but little peppy than the latter. Good vocals from the singers, simple tune and good lyrics make the song enjoyable to listen. But don’t expect this song to be a chartbuster. It will look good on screen!

The last track of the album features Lata Mangeshkar and Adnan Sami. Shayad Yaho to pyar hai is a melodious one. The main highlight of the songs is its https://lyrics. Beautifully written by Sammer. Lata and Adnan give their best! This one is a situational track will look great on screen.

Lucky is rare, it is precious. It has some beautiful melodious songs, peppy tracks and remixes. With singers such as Sonu, Udit, Ashaji, Lata, anuradha, alka and adnan you can surely expect nothing short of a classic. Barring Hum Dewwane, Lucky is Beautiful. It should be added to you music collection!

On music sales front, it is a sure chartbuster. Lucky soundtrack is already selling like Hot-cakes and it will be one of the best hits in 2005. Grab it!
