Not a Pleasant Experience at Lions Den Lonavala
Oct 28, 2017 04:21 PM 1353 Views

We stayed in Lion’s Den Lonavala on 19th October 2017. We did not have a pleasant experience here. The approach road is horrible. The rooms are very average. Be careful with hot water arrangement where temperature for all taps is controlled by shower knobs.  So if you close cold water knob for shower after taking bath, even the wash basin will give out steam instead of water. We forgot one tea-shirt in cupboard. Four hours after checking out we phoned with request to keep the tea-shirt in lost and found department so that we can collect it in next trip to Lonavala. The hotel flatly refused and informed that nothing was left behind. So be careful with your belongings during stay.Breakfast choice is very limited with preparations not upto the mark.

We will never like to stay in this hotel again.

Low budget hotel - Value for money

I would say the overall stay at Lion's Den was more than nice. Family crowd was there in the hotel so had that comfort zone for staying. The back garden was nice and the view from the Balcony to highway was luxurious given the fact of such a Low tariff.

The staff had given sufficient hospitality. Although the Balcony door frame had caused a vibrant night so, that is a thing to b improved, and the absence of room freshener. Not a'honeymoon resort' but definitely a comfortable transit room with reasonable tariff.

Pune India
Budget Hotel but still not value for money
Feb 03, 2009 06:41 PM 3114 Views

I was looking for a weekend getaway(from Pune) with my wife and didn't want to go in for something too expensive. At Rs 1100, it definately fit the criteria of a budget hotel. We booked our trip online and had no problem with the check in process.

Now for the bad part:

The hotel is located quite far off the lonavala road and you have to ride on some rough terrain before you reach the hotel. The hotel upkeep isn't very good. The staircase is definately unclean. The room was clean enough but the lock to the attaching room was flimsy so we moved to another room. The beds are not very good at all. My wife wasn't very keen to stay in the hotel but I insisted that we delay the decision until the evening.

In the evening, after our return from the Lonavala market, we found that the hotel was completely empty. I was surprised but there was literally no one. This made my wife quite uncomfortable, given that the staff too wasn't very professional. We decided to check out and immediately left for Pune.

Based on my experience I would say that the hotel is acceptable if you are a male or have enough male company. It isn't a family hotel IMO. I guess I found out the hard way that when travelling with family, you shouldn't compromise too much for the sake of cost.

Lastly, I would like to add that while the cost was low compared to other hotels, I still don't consider it value for money because the service offered was just not upto the mark even for budget hotels.

This experience that I had in the hotel was worst than you can ever imagine. Here we go: I had an advance booking against full payment for specific rooms, 11 PM in night when I check int the hotel I am received by a heavly drunk watchman .mind you watchman there was no reception.

then I was informed that the room that I had booked has been allocated to some one else.I fail to understand the reason as I had already informed the hotel about late check in. They give me some other crapy room and I was asked to move my luggage again the morning to some other room

The next evening I am told that there is some change in the tarrfic so I have to pay them the differential.on my attempt to understand the reason and agrue my point, these people misbehaved like goons.

Oh.I forgot to tell you about the room quality.I have travelled a lot in India and have even stayed in'Dharmshalas' at a few places.the rooms here were worse than even those'Dharmshalas'.I would rather not mention about the room service and other amenities.what's that.

All and all.SPEND THE NIGHT IN YOUR CAR BUT NEVER EVER EVER STAY IN THIS PLACE.just a piece of sh*t.DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT STAYING HERE.even if you are paid money to do so.forget about you paying and staying.
