Kolhapuri Tadka, Kharadi, Pune

Kolhapur is actually famous for its spicy food whose dishes itself look dark red because of putting too much chilly in their recipes. I got the opportunity to try the typical Kolhapuri food at Pune while I visited my brother-in-law’s house last year.

The food is presented in the traditional way in a big thaali with many varieties in small steel bowels. I had puranpoli with their typical traditional brinjal vegetable curry and gravy based potato curry which was looking dark red and oily. The bite of puranpoli taste little bit sweet but when you try with the curry, it will make your all tongue, eyes, and your entire face red. It is so spicy that you won’t be able to resist yourself without water. It will bring tears in your eyes nit because of sadness but because of its hard spicy taste. But it taste very different and quite good also.

This taste you will find only and only in this part of India which should be treated as a food experience and enjoy. You will not find so much spices anywhere in the world
