Deccan delight- Khyber ----------------------------
Lights, camera, action....and here I am in front of camera with my IITian son at the entrance of Khyber. Oh yes, today I didn't forget to take hair bath with Nyle shampoo (Ritha/amla- ref.my review on Nyle shampoo).... then decided to visit Deccan area for some shopping for son (not for me..or household items even...Attn. Davie for his review on TVS scooty)... so naturally we were on our Blue TVS scooty (I am with my son humm ). It's winter vacation so enjoying afternoon sunlight. After shopping ( of course need-based items like shirt/trousers) took a nice stop at Khyber instead visiting to any of our relatives.
Oops, I forgot, camera is on !! So, I am at Khyber's main door. Mind well not Khyber khind..though name resembles....ys.it's story is written on manucard's first page (those interested in history of Khyber khind may also visit and check menucard). With warm welcome we are in and one person accompanies till we are well- seated. Seems there are many tables vacant as its yet 1 pm. Light instrumental music tape at the background definitely has healed our moods.
Chote Nawab ki pharmayish prawns curry and rumali roti ki hai... so ok for me also. Here I am calling my son as chote nawab. Dear friends, I am not born non-veggie....and found prawns like boiled cashews with little different flavour and fall in love.....hence I don't take objection and on the contrary like to have it as favourite dish. For my this love towards prawns credit goes to my husband who introduced this delicious item to me (yet another story).
After cream of veg.soup (1X2), we are enjoying prawns curry and rumali rotis. Today rice item is decided to be dropped and instead orange juice is felt ok as we had breakfast at home at 9am. While having food I am observing that waiters are quite polite with us and taking care of visitor until they finish and leave happily. May be also because food is delicious and charges are reasonable. BTW, our bill is 300/Rs.... I am now paying it. Waiter has taken bill amount and we are coming to main door to leave verry happily. Here pack-up...camera stops.
Friends, Khyber restaurant is on Deccan Gym. and its famous !! I am visiting it since my college days. Though frequency is not much I like it for its ambience, music, polite attitude of waiters and obviously quality of food. So, when you visit Pune and especially Deccan Gymkhana area this is yet another restaurant (ref.my review on Rutugandh) to be added to your list.
