I travelled from Salem to delhi on 06.08.2023 from Kerala express and I had really bad experience. The AC was chilling, washrooms were not clean. Water was coming into the coaches and it was delayed for 4 hours. Either running slow or get stop in the middle of the jungle. It does not worth the price of the ticket. If goverment treats

Experience on Kerala Express

This is a genuine review. I was travelling from New delhi to Palakkad, on 26/12/2022 to 28/12/2022 in Kerala express. The sleeper coach is alright, the cleaning is done on time. However, washrooms are untidy and not cleaned well. One of the worst experience from the whole list of my travelling is that, this train was delayed for 8 hours and 30 minutes. Consider the situations of people who were sitting on the train from Delhi. Authorities should consider this, as the passangers are struggling a lot. We have our plans, and this is difficult for a solo traveller as the train is reaching its destination on night instead on day as it to be.

I and my brother went to Kerala last month. We decided to to go by train. Actually, all train tickets were full only the Kerala express was available so we booked AC 3 tire ticket for us.

The Kerala express was coming late to CST station. When we board a train our berth was so dirty and some smell came.

Then we report to the staff then they came and starts cleaning. The pantry car is available on the train. The various verity of food was available for breakfast, Lunch, and dinner.

But the quality of the food was not so good the price was also high.

The train is available daily don't worry about that. The Kerala Express having on board facility.

The train was reached at the destination 30min early. We were happy for that.

I remember when I went to Kerala first time with Kerala express. It was the worst experience. The train already came late and the cleanness level on our berth is very poor it was so dirty. As well as smell comes through blankets. The train was full of the passenger.

We got the ticket after waiting. We booked 3rd AC ticket. The pantry car is available on the train. That time I thought Ohh it's nice to have pantry car on the train so we can enjoy food and breakfast whenever we want.

But guys trust me the quality of the food was too bad and the price of the food is high. The chicken biryani has no quality but they charge 100Rs for it.

The train is available daily and some trains which go to Kerala are available on weekly basis.

The Kerala Express Having the onboard facility. The staff was discussing they don't care of the passengers at all. We went to Kerala in the rainy season the window near my berth was not properly closed so sprinkles of the water were come on our face all the time really it was a very worst experience. We complained to staff but they said we can't do anything right now please adjust.

Worst Train Now To Travel To Kerala
Aug 29, 2013 06:14 PM10554 Views

I remember the childhood journeys we took to Kerala, then it used to be a train which was so clean and tidy. Now the worst nightmare for anyone travelling to Kerala. The staff is the most disturbing. All of them are so drunk, even the attendants in AC compartment after 6 smell like a liquor shop.

The toilets remain nasty and stinky. The compartments are all age old ones, keep screeching all the while.

All in all never travel by this if ever you truly want to have a hassle free journey. Its Devils' own train that takes us to God's own country.

Broom -allepy bokorow express
Mar 02, 2006 08:52 PM12128 Views

It was an good idea for me who has returned back from abroad, bored with flight journeys,to try indian railways. As that will also serve a purpose for me to train my kids of the goodness of indian railways.I decided to travel from coimbatore to vijayawada and back by alleppy-bokorrow express. For a reason , I booked my tickets in two tier AC from coimbatore and sleeper class in return. Every body in my circle cautioned me that this train always comes late. I reached the station along with my family on 24th Feb,2006 on time.To my surprise I found the train on right time( hats off laluji). We were booked in coach A1 - Seat 45,46,48,49. After searching all while we could not find the coach and desparatly approached the Near by TTE who has said very politly - They have not attached AC two tier from allepy. They neither bothered to announce the same . Finally after an argument and shuffle we were accomadated in AC three tier( Later I claimed and got the reimbursement of the differance amount back from vijayawada station with difficult - another issue).

The train left coimbatore late and reached erode after 5 hours( normal journey time is max 2 hours).

On my return, we were booked in S6 seat nos 25,26,27,28 on 28th Feb. On boarding the train we found very bad smell and too much dirt everywhere. The seats were sticky like the train carried pigs earlier. The floor was filled with groundnut husk and rubbish. I was desparatly tried to contact the attendent or any body responsible to assist me in cleaning ,without which no animals will dare to sit. Since I got no response from TTE or any other station staff ,by the time train left,I decided to clean the area myself. I immediatly pulled mu lungie from my suitcase and cleaned the area.( My kid asked me, seeing the developments why railways are not providing brooms inside the coach,so that atleast passengers can clean themself).

The journey was terrible till coimbatore.( Later on my sleep I had a beautifull dream in which laluji is asking the parliment permission to outsource the cleaning in railways. As usual the lefts were against, and the railway staffs were on strike just to keep their vision - Neither we will or will allow anybody to do that-----)Hope readers take my dream in humor.

Not upto the Mark

Everytime a malyalee wanted to travel to his/her home town from Delhi, the first thought that went through their mind was travelling By Kerala Express.(There are a few more options nowdays). Recently while travelling by the a/c 3 tier From New Delhi to Palakkad by the same train, I had thought myself to be lucky to have got a brand new compartment(just 3 months old...manufactured in Aug)only to realise after a few hours that the flush in a couple of the toilets were not functioning, also there were no toilet rolls. There is a steel mug generally in these toilets, well that was also missing.

The best part was yet to come...near the wash basin there was a leakage somewhere from the top....on being asked the attended replied that some pump was not working & hence the leak & can only repired at Thiruvananthapuram, here I must add that the electriction & the others tried the best to repair the problem. If this is the condition in a/c compartments, what about the others!!!!!!!!!!!!! On to food.......

Over the years I have travelled in many long distance trains & some have really to quality food...........here this train fails miserably & this problem has also been brought to officials at various levels.....but to no avail. It takes a marathon 52 hours to reach Thiruvananthapuram from Delhi........a bit too much.

This distance can be covered in less than 50hrs ie too much running time or buffer has been provided for the train. But I suppose even with all these drawbacks for a travelling & train loving Malayalee there is nothing than standing in queue 2 months befor the actual journey to get a confirmed ticked for him & his family.
