I feel this review is:
I have lived near Mylapore area(where Kapaleeshwar temple is located) and I used to visit this temple almost daily. You will find peace as soon as you enter the temple. The main deity is kapaleeshwarar(Shiva) and Karpagambal(parvati), it has other god shrines also, like Muruga(lord karthikeya), Pillayar(Ganapati), Shani bagwan, Navagraha, bairava, durga, and umpteen numbers of shiva lingas. The temple is surrounded by shops, on one side you will find vegetable markets, on the other side it is Rasi silks, and other garment and saree shops. You will find excellent restaurants around the temple, Saravana bavan, sangeeta, karpagambal mess, surya sweets etc to name a few.

I was in chennai for 6 years. I heard a big name for this temple located in Mylapore Chennai. From velachery, there is direct local train to this place. As you get down the station, from there it is walkable distance.
This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Mata paarvati. It is made in dravidian architecture. It is one of the ancient temple in chennai. Everyday, lot of devotee come to this temple to get fulfill their wishes.
On some particular day, it is heavily crowd and decorated.
Being a devotee of lord shiva, I have visited this temple once and my wish fulfilled.
For anyone visiting Chennai for the first time, this is a must visit, even as recommended by trip advisor and lonely planet. This is a very ancient and traditional temple with a pond adjoining it. Located in the heart of the city, it atracts a lot of crowds for the main deity Lord Shiva. The temple is big and accomodates a huge number of people during festivals. Parking is ample but very tight on Fridays and holidays. You can manage to squeeze some where. Its a paid parking system, just ensure you are billed correctly.
Festivals are happening in this place. The annual theppam festival render roads blocked.
Eateries around the temple are famous.
Overall a great temple and a must visit!
