Rude and ill mannered staff
Aug 20, 2016 06:00 PM 24805 Views (via Mobile)

Dear parents

Beware of kangroo kids school

I was trying to contac them from 6months. Was keep on calling there chembur branch nobody ever picked up my phone never revert back my mails.

I called there head office to ask the lady called Banita backfired on me when I told her the facts about calls n mail's.

She was extremely rude, I told her to transfer my phone to some responsible senior she straight away refused and said I have any seniors.

When I told her in that case I am coming to there head office personally to see her management and complain. She transferred my call to some Fake senior the other lady claimed to be Ms GAYATRI head of marketing. Told explained her all including Banita's ill behaviour she requested me to give her 10mins and promised to get back to me.

It's more than 3 weeks she never called msgd.

After few days some Rina called from chembur branch. I told her we would like to come and visit the school n know to admission details as we were willing to get our daughter join from there

Nov 2016 batch.

She informed that even the admissions are going to start from 1 Aug. But this Saturday they are busy so she scheduled it for next Saturday. And told me she will call in Friday to confirm the timings etc. It's being 3 weeks she never called or msg in between I tried calling them and mailed them no response.

Today again I called there head office was SHOCKED by that information that there is NO GAYATRI there WOW

On asking with whom I am talking the lady answered you called the reception still I asked her name she misbehaved again I guessed it's no one else but Banita again the same RUDE lady. I asked you only told me to talk to GAYATRI and now u are saying there is no such person exist. She very badly replied I clearly said I'll take up this matter to higher level she bluntly said she don't care.

Sometime fishy such behaviour of school employee what will our kids learn if they are bunch of fake rude frauds.

Why they are in education section. Think 100 times before sending our kid in this school. It's our risk n kids future at Stake.

Favouring own friends which are cheaters

Ms. leena ashar had started this play school franchisee and then grew it to such a extend that now its only a mean of making money for her friends...they are taking franchisee of KKEL at iileagal places by fighting with society and recruiting non professionals and also by taking the officials of KKEL in confidence for the same. Is it worth for such a reputed brand to play with little kids future and hard earning parents of the same..

We recommend that Leena should check each her school personally once to know the pathetic reality behind her.

I strongly recommend Sparkles Nursery School
Jul 08, 2011 02:58 AM 23289 Views

I am not at all surprised with this review - all these franchise schools are only concerned about making money - the main management is sitting elsewhere and the people who run these centers are no way trained to take care of our 3- 4 yr olds.

On the other hand, I have seen a self run school in Aundh, Baner and Bhosalenagar - Sparkles Nursery school - it is run by 2 ladies( after talking to them I came to know that they too had left their lucrative jobs in the IT sector to run this school) - and am amazed at the loving and beautiful way they take care of my child. All their teachers are so motherly, homely and loving . I realized that when I am away working, all that I care is the knowledge that my child is safe . what is the use of swanky and expensive toys if my child is not safe. hats off to Sparkles . my child is happy and loves going there to her teachers. I strongly recommend Sparkles to all working parents as the BEST and MOST LOVING Daycare and Preschool in Pune.

Kangaroo kids franchise at Powai
May 31, 2011 03:30 PM 23401 Views

Kangaroo kids brand promoted by Educationist Ms. Lina ashar is pioneer in industry & has vast experience. but it seems in this commercial world they lost there identity and now they are not even Bother whether NOC from society is there before giving franchises.

The latest incidences of Powai franchise was a shock. parents were misguided by them and we get trouble round the year from society. the Kangaroos other centers are really good & doing very well.

I am writing this to express my feelings for the insult that staff had done to me. Before that pretext of the scene is I have not taken admission for second term as we would not be around for full period and would be relocating soon. We were in deciding phase.

My son has been in preschool since last four months and today was his last day of current term. It was an average experience so far for me and my kid as I have not seen great improvement in his activities but this incident has completely turned me down and repenting on my decision to choose such insensitive school.

My son has not been feeling good since last couple of days so we did not sent him for those days but since it was last day and he may not be meeting his friends for rest of his life (God Knows when ?) we decided to see doctor first and then take him to school. We were late by 15 minutes and that gave them reason to not allow us inside and not admit him to the class !! Despite my repeated requests, coordinator did not allow and kept giving excuse like it would be injustice to rest of parents for not allowing their kids ( WOW, what a moral responsibility !! I did not see this anytime before in last four months).

Agreed, that there is a rule that one should be in time , but are there no exceptions ? specially in scenarios like this ? I would like to ask have they started class in last four months always in time ? , Have they been punctual through out the term to give daily 2 hrs to child ? Have they been punctual to get children and drop them to school gate with care and always in time ? were there no delays any time ? . They organized concert few weeks back at symbiosis international school scheduled to be starting at 10:00 AM , was it started at 10:00 AM ?

My kid is 2 years and 2 months old , he does not understand time (or punctuality) at this point, he understands feelings and to respect his feeling I was there. Are you trying to teach my kid or me on time punctuality ? Well , you should be charging extra for that know ? (things like this that is music to your ears as always)

My bad that I did not get him in time, but does that warrant insult to me and not allow my child to enter into class to say bye to his friends ? is really to teach (me) parents time management or is it due to we not continuing for next term ?.

My deciding phase is still gives me some more time but I have decided !, No matter whether we would be around or not , I will not admit my kid for next term and will not recommend any one also.

Alert lot of favoritism happening in kangroo kids vasant kunj delhi.we had horrible experience withour kangroo kids vasant kunj. They have played with our hearts...they have cheated us...they gave a false picture by stating that ratio of child is to teacher is 9:1.thinking that lot of attention will be given to each and every child but truth is attention is given to 1 or 2 children who bribe teachers...

And this is not just my opinion, I have alteast six to seven parents who also feel the same.Parents who want to send there children staying in vasant kunj send there children to shishu van thats lovey school, teachers don't practice such wrong .......teachers are truley loving not fake like rajni

Good Experience
Apr 11, 2011 07:22 PM 20117 Views

We stay at Chandivali (near Powai, Mumbai) and our son goes to Kangaroo Kids- day care, at Maple Leaf bldg in Raheja Vihar, Chandivali.

We are happy with the care and attention given by the franchise. Overall I would give a positive rating to this franchise.

But unfortunately they are closing down this month due to some internal issue. Now we are having to begin our search all over again for a good day-care in our area.

Warm regards

Shame on kangaroo Kids, Lucknow
Apr 09, 2010 11:44 PM 20121 Views

I am an army officer's wife and got recently posted to Lucknow in the month of Jan. Since I was looking for some good school for my child I decided to put him in Kangaroo Kids. While taking to the authority I asked them that its little far from my place will they be able to provide transport facility to the child?? for which they promptly agreed and requested me to pay the whole fees and do the formalities, but told me that van would be provided to me from the month of Feb. I happily agreed to keep my son at home for a month as I was satisfied that he will be going to a good school. To my surprise when I called them on 3oth of Jan to confirm about the van timing they told me that they can not arrange for the van. They didn't even bother to inform me the whole month in spite of having my contact no. and wasted one month of my child.

The story didn't end here, they told me to check it from the new session as they might get new admission. In the meanwhile I put my child in some other school with the hope that I might get transport facility .In the month of feb (almost toward the end) I called up the school authority to check for the van facility from the new session as well as since they have published an advertisement in the newspaper for the post of teacher I inquired about that also. They requested me to come for the interview and mock class. They were really keen to take me as they would have got new student and a teacher for the school. I joined the school but not transferred my child to the school. Everyday they they use to inquire whether I'll b transferring my kid or not??? I did so and paid the fees only for uniform and stationary.

Again a surprise from there side. Since admission for others school have almost closed, School authority asked me and one more teacher to leave the school as some ex-teacher was keen on joining the school. I asked school either to refund my kids admission amount or take the responsibility of my child... to which they told me that they cannot do either. Amount could not be refunded as on papers they have adjusted the amount as admission fees and can not provide van either for the child...My question is :-

1) How can they adjust amount of stationary and uniform as admission fees.

2) Was taking me into the school was just a plan to get the child in school to meet there greed for money, and once there aim is met to throw me out??

3) If they had to appoint some ex-teacher how can they appoint me??? does management is not firm about its decision??

4) How can the management throw somebody out without prior notice or reason for the same?

When I told them that I'll escalate the matter to head office headmistress used abusive language with me which is absolutely unethical. I want the school to refund my amount as I have returned the stationary and an apology letter from authorities for playing with my child's future to meet their greed for money.

Hyderabad India
Disappointing!
May 26, 2009 07:38 AM 19579 Views

We took admission in the preschool facility at Kangaroo Kids in Hyderabad. Well before the school begins we've been transferred to Bangalore, requiring the family to relocate. However the school authorities refuse to refund the amount we have paid (almost Rs. 34000). They don't even want to tranfer the seat to their school in Bangalore despite seats being available there.

This is not what is expected from a reputed school like Kangaroo Kids. I am sure the place that has been reserved for my daughter will be taken by another student as many have been waitlisted. I don't see any honesty in this approach and I am truly disappointed! Can anyone offer a solution? Can I approach a consumer courty of any kind? I don't find any escalation route to address my concern.

I admitted my child in Kangaroo Kids as I was given to understand that it is one of the best schools. However we have come away quite disappointed with this commercial approach.

BEING UNRESONABLE
Mar 10, 2009 10:41 PM 18142 Views

when you make changes in an orgaization you inform the people involved, but this school dose'ntseem to think so.

when my son got the fees circular for the next quarter, i was under the impression that the reason for the tution fees being double were some annual chagers etc., but thruogh sunny 75's riview I got to know that this is a hike in the fees.I am aware of the hike being aprroved by the govt ."IT STATESA MAX OF RUPEES700.00/MONTHNOT MORE

*Any way the PT.A.is suppose to be active in the school admin as they assuered us in the beginning.

Then why were we not informed before? There should have been a meeting to inform the parents. It is'nt as if they were increaseing a few rupees the hike is in **thousands.

T**his sort of behaviour make's me think whether I made the correct disicion in puting my child in here.

I also do;nt like the matter of fact way that was used when I was called to give anADD in the school magzine, the person in question said "6000/8000 THOUSAND IS'NT A BIG AMOUNT FOR YOU TO SPEND I KNOW" this way a person might feel or take it on their EGO to give an ADD, if they were'nt sensible

*READERS PLEASE GIVE SUGGESTIONS

*THANKYOU

Noida India
Doubling the fees
Mar 09, 2009 04:43 PM 18412 Views

Kangaroo kids in Noida has just increased the fees in all classes by more than hundred percent.

I am not able to understand the rationale of this increase. The prices of petrol & diesel has come down, Inflation is down and obiously 100% of the fees doesnt go to paying teachers salary. So there is no reason why there should be hike of this magnitude even if the salary is being hiked for teachers.

This school dont even have basic etiquette to serve tea to parents in any of there interactive session. They always put stall even for tea/ coffee.

Above all any increase should be properly communicated and discussed with parents, without whose support it would not be possible to run any school. Instead of this what we got is just a letter demanding that the fees be paid before 15th of March. I am searching for a proper forum to raise the matter. Anyway all the parents should oppose about this hunky dory business.

Irresponsible attitude
Nov 29, 2008 12:37 PM 17580 Views

We give our child future in the hands of school and they  don't  understand. My son was in Kangaroo kids in Sr.Kg then graduate in to  Billabong high, ( I don't understand Y change names). Now thru their own counselor they understand the Child need another teacher(shadow) for the reason best know to them only. The test was conducted by independent experts and child was found ok and we were suggested to take extra care and teachers were told to handle him in different way.

But to our shock and surprise that very counselor had taken it personally and started creating /fabricating( just like a lawyer does) evidence to prove her claim. Instead to helping the child that teacher started forcing for additional teacher, due to which my wife went thru sever depression. Child was also effected badly.

My Question is During admission they had taken a written test, did they not find he had problems in studies? If yes then Y they did not informed us? Have they worked out any plans for overcoming so -called behavior problems.?Are they teachers qualified enough to handle children?

The school is affiliated to?  What is the course they follow ICSC /IGCS/CBSE?. Have the school got any permission to conduct the course? or as we hear it is borrowed syllables from Euro Kids. Y we have Xeroxed textbook?. If you want to invite trouble ask these question to them.Just pay the fees and keep SHUT. or quietly change your child to another school .Is this the attitude Parents should follow?.

We were requested by other parents to fight and expose them if we decide to leave the school. You can understand plight of Parents., We hope education departments are ready to help if we ask them.

Believe it  THIS IS NOT PERSONEL

Planet Kids-Bangalore
Nov 27, 2007 02:46 PM 22453 Views

I was reading this review on Kangaroo Kids and would like to mention that I had a similar experience with Planet Kids, Bangalore(Banashankari Second Stage). I admitted my son in July. Initially, they started off saying that he was dozing off in school. Now they claim that he is restless in class and does not focus on one activity(now that he has stopped sleeping in school!). The teachers seem to be completely inexpereinced and inadept at handling toddlers.(Not to mention the exorbitant fee charged by them).

I guess the reason for enrolling kids in pre-school is to make them comfortable in a atmosphere away from home and not necessarily make them learn stuff. Children should be allowed to explore their own interests and things should not be forced down their throat.

Also I found that the Parent-Teacher meeting was a mere hogwash and every parent was given the same feedback about their kids.(which I think was aimed at concealing the School's inefficiencies)

Bangalore India
Total Rip Off
Jul 15, 2007 01:00 PM 17271 Views

I admitted my kid to preschool at Kangaroo Kids Bangalore in June 2007. They intially said that they would keep the child for 1/2 hour and gradually increase to 2 hours. Its been 3 weeks and they still have not managed to keep the child for 2 hours. Since I wait outside, they conveniently say the child is restless and send the kid outside in 1 - 1.5 hours. The fee is exorbitant (rs.28000 for 2 hours for 6months). In addition uniforms have to be purchased. Uniforms for a 2 year old is ridiculous!! Its just another way to make money. They don't provide any snacks or eats unlike other preschools.

The sand pit is never cleaned and I saw broken toys and other stuff(which may injure the child) lying around.

The ratio of child: teacher is very low and they are always short staffed.

They have old dog-eared books in their library and the teacher allots one book every week which has to be returned the next week.

I also heard that they include your child in the entertainment programs and charge a ridiculous Rs250 per head to watch these programs.

I would never ever recommend this place to anybody ever.

The incident and some statistics
Mar 28, 2006 04:51 PM 17779 Views

We can see a total of 7 review on KKEL out of which 1 is by KKEL Management. Out of the other 6, 1 is a complaint . Out of rest 5 posting, 3 members apparently joined after the complaint was posted and has posted just one review highlighting bright sides of KKEL. It is interesting to note that these 3 members has posted just one review till now. Any intelligent person can understand that these 3 members are basically from kkel management who has joined this forum as a damage repair exercise.

The ratings and recommendation by these people have pushed the rating high for kkel. If we go by the genuine postings, the recomendation stands as 3 reviews and 66% recomendation.

I would strongly suggest that kkel abstain from such mischievious practices.

Of late KKEL has been honest by admitting that the incident really happened and they publicly apologized for this but by posting such dubious (and in some cases offensive) reviews they are only damaging their reputation (if any)

We refer to the article posted on the website by archer_com_2000 to the incident that occurred at the Kangaroo Kids, Pune Centre at Koregaon Park.

Immediately on the happening of the aforementioned incident it was brought to our notice by our Pune Franchisee and we deputed two of our Directors from Mumbai, who met the concerned parent and gave her a patient hearing and apologized for the unfortunate incident.

Our representatives also met other parents and heard their grievances. Subsequent thereto, our representatives had a talk with the Pune centre management to discuss way and means to still improve facilities available to children. We are also taking steps to see that staff-parent relations continue to be very receptive and cordial.

We would like to emphasise, and as is well known, KKEL is a well reputed educational institution and it is our endeavour to achieve a high level of education at all our schools. KKEL exercises due care in looking after its children and while we accept such stray incident has taken place, child’s development, care and safety remain our utmost priority.

We are grateful to the parents for their understanding of the situation and we reassure that high standard of KKEL will always be maintained.

Gymbaroo – The Kangaroo Kids Club A World of Learning Love And Fun

To tell the truth, at first when me and my wife decided to put our daughter Shrea in Gymbaroo – The Kangaroo Kids Club, we were skeptical about whether or not our daughter would actually benefit from Gymbaroo.

Today it is more than two months since our daughter has been with Gymbaroo, and I can say one thing for sure, that I should be grateful to Gymbaroo for allowing us to be a part of KANGAROO KIDS WORLD.

The other thing, which I want to say over here is, it is not about the child, it is about how Gymbaroo – The Kangaroo Kids Club has benefited me for my entire life.

I always thought that taking care of the child, taking to school, etc. etc. ...is the mother's duty and fathers are not supposed to be involved.

When I learnt from my wife that one parent had to accompany the child to Gymbaroo. I was reluctant for I would have to take Shrea to Gymbaroo, (as my wife has a job), I explained to my wife, there would be only mothers with other children, how do you expect me to manage my daughter alone, I cant do it, I told her.

Thankfully I lost my case and job of being with Shrea in Gymbaroo – The Kangaroo Kids Club was thrust on me, well now I thank my wife, Gymbaroo – The Kangaroo Kids Club has brought me close to my child in a manner in which I could have never been for my entire life span.

Gymbaroo – The Kangaroo Kids Club has excellent facilities and great teachers, no amount of words can express my heartfelt gratitude towards all of Gymbaroo – The Kangaroo Kids Club, for having laid the right foundation for an intellectual and healthy growth for the children at the same time indirectly teaching the parents a lesson ingrowing with the child.

If I could make a wish right now, it would be that may all children of the world get to be in GYMBAROO and the KANGAROO KIDS WORLD.

Anoushka and her first Guru-Kul!!
Mar 09, 2006 03:17 PM 16604 Views

A newborn baby is born with a 100 billion neurons. At birth almost all the neurons the brain will ever have are present. However the brain continues to grow for a few years. By the age of 2 the brain is about 80% of adult size. At birth the brain has laid its circuits and now it is up to the neural activity-no longer spontaneous but driven by a flood of sensory experiences to take this rough blueprint and progressively refine it. When babies are exposed to sights, sounds, textures to feel, smells, and tastes, more connections are made inside the brain.

Activity in the brain creates tiny electrical connections called synapses. The amount of stimulation a baby receives has a direct affect on how many synapses are formed. Repetitive stimulation strengthens these connections and makes them permanent, whereas young connections that don't get used eventually die out. These first three years are a very important and pivotal time for a developing young brain. This intense period of brain growth and network building happens only once in a lifetime. We as parents have a brief but golden opportunity to help our babies stimulate the formation of brain circuitry.

When Anoushka, our little bundle of joy took her first step and spoke her first word ''Mam-rna'' we felt the need to expose her to an environment where we could provide her with the right stimulus. Thus began a search, which concluded with Kangaroo Kids Toddlers club. The fact that it is located twenty kilometers from where we live did not deter us, as we wanted nothing but the best.

Quite frankly, one had apprehensions of what could be taught to a one year old. A month into the programme, we are delighted at our decision. Toddlers learn through play, the content at Kangaroo Kids has been designed around play, curiosity, and exposure to different sights, colours, textures, and objects. The small group and personal attention of the teachers make it all the more special.

Innovatively designed curriculum aimed at developing the skill sets of toddlers like drama, reading and motor skills. Interactive learning through tools and props, expanding the universe of the child through touch and feel of daily objects of use. Introduction to computers, painting, music and the world of laughter and joy, of watching other little beings of the same age. We will not forget the pool day when the toddlers were introduced to playing in a pool filled with toys under the watchful eyes of the teachers who prodded the little ones on.

What really makes Kangaroo Kids stand out are the cheerful and loving young teachers and its insistence of the parents attending providing the right environment for the parents to walk along as their children start their journey on the road of life. In these times, when parents are finding it increasing difficult to balance their careers and time spent with their child, Kangaroo Kids provides an opportunity to make up in quality what they miss out in quantity.

As a father, I feel deprived of not being able to attend due to pressures of time. When I see a roomful of tender little kids, colorfully dressed, wide eyed with curiosity, pit patter of those first tentative joyous steps, the child in me longs to break free. This, my heart says, is the opportunity to be innocent again, to look at the world through the eyes of your child, to look again at things we have stopped looking, the colour of trees, bark of the dog, the feel of sand in your hand, splash of water, the joy of being able to hold a spoon and bring it to your mouth, the music of poems long forgotten, of reviving characters and heroes long relegated to the past. Of living in the moment, without a thought for the past or worry for the future.

As the prophet Khalil Gibran puts it, you are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth. As parents, with help of Kangaroo Kids we are satisfied that we are doing our best to ensure that the arrow may go swift and far.
