I have visited this temple last year during my week long stay in Dhanbad. Bokaro is only 2 hours away from Dhanbad and we went there by car. This temple is built only 3 years back and already has become a popular religious spot in the area. The surrounding township is named after this temple as "KALIKA VIHAR".
This temple is not located in the market place of Bokaro city. It is located in Chira Chas.
This temple is constructed as a replica of Lotus temple and looks quite attractive. The temple is two storied construction and more than 150 in height. The Goddess Kali is established in this temple as SITA avtar, so the body color of the deity is white, not black like other conventional Goddess Kali deity. The prayer hall in the underground is quite large and it is really a nice experience to attend the prayer and Arati. This huge hall is also used for several auspicious ceremonies like marriage etc and booking facility is also available.
There is a small hanuman temple in the adjacent area which is also pull crowds equally. For the devotees, there are small shops nearby to purchase flowers and other puja stuffs.
People can have tea and snacks after offering Puja in the temple. There is no presence of Touts or Pandas, so you can offer your puja and prayer in peace. We started around 8 AM from Dhanabd and reached to the temple at around 10.30. We stayed there up to 1 PM and then took our dinner in a City Center restaurant. In the afternoon we headed for another park in Bokaro.
I have not noticed any lodge nearby and people staying in the city can easily go back as it is not far away from the town.
I liked the temple and it is a good religious place to visit where you can offer Puja in mental peace and in a nice atmosphere.
I recommend this place.
