I feel this review is:
Congratulations to Mr.Singh on his first book- A journey!
This book is quite a page turner!! It kept me hooked till the end. If you are an NRI settled in US I bet you will find atleast one incident in this book that seems like a page right out of your own life. If you had or have plans to r2i(like me) you won't believe how much of yourself you will find in this book.
The author does a marvelous job in bringing out a perfect blend of humor and serious philosophical thoughts. The way the author backs Indians for their typical behaviour at international airports is hilarious. My favorite part of the book is the one in which the author relates India to his family and explains why he wants to r2i for good leaving behind the "american dream".
I strongly recommend this book to any Indian who has thoughts of making a life in the US.

"A Journey" - A commendable job by a first time author. A must read for all the software engineers who have made their lives a rat race in this world of competition by running after promotions, ratings and onsite opportunities.
The author very beautifully, throughout the book, makes us realise how we, as s/w engineers have forgotten to live and enjoy those small things in life which used to make our day as a kid. I loved the innovative choice of comparisons used in the book, like US being father, India-Pakistan his two naughty kids, troubling him for each and everything.
Some very wise observations put in words, like how similar your first job is with your first relationship. No matter how u like them at first, they'll both become monotonous at a point of time. Very true! and how can you still keep them both lively? Vivek writes about difference in mentality of girls and boys. Girls always expect their spouses to display their love and respect in public and boys always want to joke about their spouses. Really true.
This is what I used to observe in parties with friends always. This book is the story of most of us and shows direction if you are lost. it's not only an interesting read but also an inspiring one.
It was an interesting reading. It is brand new book that I bought from pothi.com/pothi/book/vivek-kumar-singh-journey.
It is written by an IITian about his journey to USA and then back to India. It is filled with humour but also very philosophical. It tries to find out where people belong. What do they travel and what they get out of it.
it is very young and youthful book. I finished in one sitting. It has 187 pages. It is very engaging. It has wit and humour all along. It captures the reasons of heart and mind. “Is this what I want to do for the rest my life or there is something else?”
The question starts haunting their minds. However, materialistic urges and the fear of the unknown
keep them trapped in the vicious cycle. Sometimes, it is peer pressure – to do what everyone else is doing – that keeps him or her on the dreaded path, also known as rat race. " It defines belongingness in a completely different way. It end with statement.
" Our biology teacher was wrong – he had taught that living beings travel only for food and fornication. I had started the journey to belong! "
