I passed from jalpaiguri government engineering college in 2006.i was completed my B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.the college is 3rd govt rank in all over west bengal.the best departments of college is civil.mechanical.electrical.specially civik and mechanical department has good lab facilities and the faculties are almost from iit.the main reason behind choosen jalpaiguri govt engg college are

I took admission in JGEC last year in Electrical Engineering, I left it midway and started preparing for JEE again, I took admission at Jadavpur University this year and I can tell you that JGEC is running on its past glory.

Life is really slow there, there is no enthusiasm, even though it is autonomous still it follows the backdated syllabus of Makaut!

Infrastructure is poor and there is a boring atmosphere all around.

I am a residence of jalpiguri this college has a high success rate around westbengal.a lot of opputunities here, and myself is trying hard to get chance in this college .and well known around india.a lot of traids are available here and not a chance to lose them .thats all the thing and no other bad reputation s.

As I am the student of the college, honestly saying, I think it is the best engineering college in my state, not only education, beautiful campus, lots of play grounds , wide open area, and 14 active clubs ( sports, music, dance, photography etc

. ) , what you want more to continue your extra caricular activities, you can see mt. Kanchanjangha from here in the time of winter too.

Education, sports, natural beauty made this college best of all.

It was awarded as best college of state in 2012.

One of the govt oldest engineering college west bengal. Most of the important trades are available here, like civil, mechanical, electrical, electronics & tele communication are available here. The professors of this college are all very experienced and doctorate. And they are really goid and helpful for every student specially for weak student. The activity of this college is although good and most IMPORTANT THING IS THAT ALL PRACTICAL INSTRUMENTS ARE COMPLETELY AVAILABLE.

It is a very popular college for students who want to be an engenieer . All the students of jalpaiguri, alipurduar, cochbihar relay on this college for higher education. The structure of the college is very good and teachers are very relayble . Many students pass from this college and have very bright carrier as an engenier. In joint entrance exam of west bengal it is only one college where the local students can trust . There is many fasilities for students. Good hostels , great library. If any one want to live in a mess, there are many house to live in. You can get free wifi too.
