We bought the ifb dishwasher thinking it would look good in a modern kitchen and make our maid redundant. alas, these were pipe dreams to be, and our maid is not only indispensable now, she has also acquired a sarcastic sense of humor, with my wisdom in choosing such fancy gadgets as her prime target. the machine naturally never moved since day one, and all the endeavors of the worthy ifb engineers who shoved their heads in and out of the machine proved futile.
First they told me the water pressure needed to be at least 10 bars, whereas in my case it was a mere 4-5 bars. after I spent a fortune in rectifying my water tank and pipelines, the water pressure has improved dramatically, but lo and behold, the dish washer refuses to budge like an unrepentant sinner. I later discovered after pouring over the brochure that the water pressure was just an excuse - since the lower range of water pressure required is just 0 .5 bars, which means a thin trickle of water should have sufficed.anyways, I raised the height of my watertank and straightened all the bends and kinks in the pipe, but to no avail.
Now I am involved in a shouting match with the engineers and management of ifb on replacement of the machine being in warranty period. but I am informed the warranty is only for components, and not the product, so I wonder what part of the machine they will replace..?
Guys, we have used the ifb washing machine for last 2 decades and will swear by it, even the microwave is pretty good, but when it comes to dish washers - stay away.
it seems ifb is on a very weak wicket as far as dish washers go, and it certainly isn't a worthwhile product. they have also let us down by a very negative approach to our problems, have resorted to passing the buck to each other and generally demonstrated a very unprofessional conduct.
i would strongly recommend my friends to totally overlook the ifb dishwasher and be very careful about after sales service of this brand; especially in non-metros, where Korean brands provide greater reliability, sincerity in service and all round professionalism.
i have given ifb an ultimatum till monday to respond failing which I am taking them to the consumer court - and by god, if I have to spend two lacs to recover my 20 000 bucks, I will gladly do so , just to prove the point. and I promise to spend ten minutes on the net daily to abuse this company in every possible forum that I can find on the planet, and will rest only when I have my retribution.so god help me.
if any ifb guys want to respond, my details are below :-
