IFB as a brand makes good products. I have been using IFB Aqua 6.5 Kg Front load washing machine for the past 4.5 years. But my issue is with the after sales service from IFB. Right from the point when their technician comes to install the machine, they try to sell off IFB products, and are very pushy to sell them. The commission system from IFB for their technicians is very irritating.
Pathetic experience:- I also had to call their service center immediately after machine was out of warranty of 4 years, as little noise came once when the drum was spinning. The technician who came just touched the machine and gave estimate of Rs. 4000 for parts and 850 for labour. When I asked for further breakup, he revised the prices for parts to some 3500. I asked him to give the estimate in writing but he refused. He asked me to take extended warranty for Rs. 3800 and pay 600 as visiting charges, but asked to shell out total Rs. 5000, balance being bribe to keep his mouth shut and report that all is well with the machine so that extended warranty can be issued for faulty machine. Then I will have to wait for 45 days and get the machine repaired within extended warranty. This way, with almost the same cost, I can get the machine repaired and get 1 year warranty also, with him making little profit in between. I was shocked and could not trust this dishonest person. I paid Rs. 600 as visiting charges and sent him back. Then I contacted the IFB customer care with the details, and got callback from the company that I will be issued the extended warranty without paying the bribe and 600 paid will also be adjusted. After little reluctance, I agreed.
But when the company sent the guy for warranty renewal, it was the same guy who had asked for bribe the first time. I was shocked to see him again and surprised at the stupidity of the company. He was arrogant and refused to adjust Rs. 600 in the charges. The guy from the company now also changed his tune and said he never'promised' that charges will be adjusted and it is now not possible.
I got angry and let that sales person go without getting the warranty extended.
I was furious at the inefficiency and lying behaviour of both the company officer and service technician.
Pathetic system put in place by the company.
Whats funny is that it has been more than 3 months and washing machine is working perfect without any issue. Touch wood.
