IFB 23SC3 Microwave Oven Reviews

Excellant option for business women
Mar 09, 2011 03:30 PM 11285 Views

We are in a time, where we pay less time for cooking. Earlier days cooking was done for a long time in conventional way. To cope with the less time available for cooking, micro wave oven is the best gift for all. Among the microwave ovens, I found IFB brand is very good. This brand gives efficient cooking in microwave mode. The fast cooking and easy to operate menus enable the working women to operate the oven with little or less technical knowledge about the product.

In convection mode also, the heat transfer is uniform throughout the inside space, which makes uniform cooking of the dishes especially when you cook meat and hard vegetables.

In summary, I recommend IFB microwave for working women who has less time for cooking and for housewives who wish to try new dishes.

IFB Microwave-- Don't buy any IFB Product
Jan 06, 2011 04:23 PM 9734 Views

I have got a IFB microwave gifted to me by some friends in my marriage. I have used the product only for two months and within this small time it has started giving problems.

But to make the matter worse is the service provided by IFB people they are horrible.

All are terrible liars , incompetent people. I have been pursuing one complaint for last three months but of no use they are so thick skinned that they don't get bothered.

Please do not buy any IFB product this is my request to all of you irrespective of whether you are my friend or enemy. Stay away from IFB to the max extent possible.

The worst service provider of the country award should go to IFB.

A good product ill-supported

I bought it almost a month ago. In fact is 23SC2 model which is not listed here. Its mirror finish and overall smart look I liked. Using it quite frequently and found very good. But it does not provide a good cook-book, like one comes with LG. The book provided is not IFB specific. It is written by a Punjabi cook pre-dominantly with Panjabi dishes. It is a big dis-advantage. service is not tested yet. The "Demo" was more a formality provided before we needed any clarification on basis of knowledge/experience.

IFB 25CS2
Jul 19, 2010 02:24 PM 12315 Views

I bought IFB Microwave 25CS2 in oct 2009. I found it very useful in my kitchen. It become very easy for to make cake n pizzas by using convention mode. In winters we can make curd at home using grill mode in just 6 to 8 min. If I forget potato for cooking in cooker, it will take only 2 min for me instantly and it is more softer than to cook in cooker at less time. Panner curries are more tastier. The demo given by the company and the cooking recipe book is more helpful. My cooking style got changed with this product in my kitchen.

Till date I didn't face any problem.I wish there wont be any problem with service also.

IFB Microwave Oven
Jun 16, 2010 12:13 PM 9235 Views

I am misfortunate to by an IFB microwave oven. I was using it for almost 1 and half year without problem. Once the warranty is over I had done a two year amc for the same. 2009 August it has gone bad and I had logged a complaint and many times the IFB franchise persons visited and they could not repair the same. Finally November 2009 they had taken to their office. Till now the same is not rectified and returned back to me. The franchise is closed down and the product is moved to another franchise, But it still under non repairable condition

I bough this microwave in October 2009. On delivery we were told that someone will visit us for demo. After one week a gentleman came and opened the box and plugged the Microwave to power supply. Wow..what an experience. The product didn't move. So after lot of struggle and shame he informed us that this piece need to be replaced. Alright, what other option do we had?

After one month of follow up, the piece was replaced and again we were told that we should wait for the Demo man. This time he never reached us, so after waiting for another 6 weeks, we opened it and installed it. It worked and worked very well for 2 days. Afterwards, the same problem as the first one. Now we have lodged a complaint and following up with their excellent(read pathetic) call center and regional Sales head (Mr. Tamin) and no reply.

Wait is on...

You may wish to buy their product and try the support with above presumption. Hopefully your equipment will work fine and you won't need to experience.

Worst quality and service

Baught ifb 25sci 4 years ago , i use this oven only twice per year. For occasions only i use this oven, I bought this oven for rs 11, 500/-. I kept this oven very carefully, but last six months it is not working , I informed to the service center that man came and checked fully and told me to spend rs 3500/- for repair. I used this only five to six times, I have selected this only for quality but this product quality is very bad, other branded ovens are very cheap.

I spent rs11, 500/- in vain.

Horrible service

This is the first & without hesitating I would say for the last time I'll be using an ifb product. I got an micro-oven of ifb as a wedding gift. But I was surprised to see the company packing of the oven. The machine was covered from all 3 sides excluding the front door which has a glass on the door due to which it broke down while transportation. When i opened it i found the glass pieces in the entire packed box. I lodged a complaint on this on 8th Dec 09 with a complaint no.3843392 & an executive was sent to my place & his name was mr. Vijay. He said I'll check with the company what best can be done in this case & will get back to you in next 48 hrs which I think is not yet over as per him. Anyway, after waiting for 2 days on 3rd day, I again called up to the same fellow & he said I am on leave please don't disturb me & call at the so & so number (i got a new no. From him) I called up that no. & another guy came to my place his name was Mr. Sanoj.

Now this gentlemen told me sir, we will replace the machine for you it's just a matter of 1 e-mail which I'll send to the company & as soon as I'll get the revert on it your machine will be replaced.after waiting for 10 days i again called up the service centre no. & I spoke to Mr. Shashikant who being very generous told me sir I'll send the person in next 2 days which again never happened.getting very irritated i again called up the service centre & this time i spoke to Mr.fayaz & this guy being extra humble suggested me to lodge a fresh complaint. I said ok sir as you say because I was a fool to purchase a product of a company which really sucks. Anyway, I lodged a fresh complaint & the no. Is 386118 on 31st Dec 09, I waited for 4 days & nobody turned up to attend this complaint at my place I called up at the customer care on 04th Jan 10 & to my surprise they told me these complaints are already attended & are closed as well.the lady on the other side gave me a fresh complaint no. 2126743.

On 5th Jan'10, I got a call from the company asking me do I have a bill of this machine. What kind of a company is this. I have a bloody warranty card with me for this machine which has the stamp of the shop from whom I brought this hell to my place. I don't know till what extend this complaint is going to help me but I would suggest all my dear friends never to buy an ifb product.this is a worst experience of my life.

Thank you.

IFB just doesn't care about the Customer
Dec 29, 2009 06:36 PM 5105 Views

I bought an IFB microwave M-2901 when they first started in India. It cost me Rs 16, 000 then. From the first day nobody came to give a demo, after a lot of phone calls to the company they sent a man who said he didn't know how to operate the machine. The company also refused to give us an owners manual till date.

Then we realised that it doesn't heat the food like a microwave does but takes the same time as an electric oven does. After repeated calls to the company's top brass they sent men over who either damaged the machine or didn't know what to do with it or who damaged the original parts and installed local parts that burnt.

Also the door kept coming apart and IFB said that the door isn't under warranty. Finally the machine went out of warranty and then even under AMC they refused to do anything about the machine. Finally they refused to come to my house even though the machine was under AMC.

We finally stopped renewing the AMC. When I called the company they refused to talk to me, and kept lifting the phone and then keeping it back down so I lost my money, this continued for about 400 calls.

Once a lady "Kumkum'  took the call and asked me to buy a new machine since mine was old and they didn't have any support for it. People at the service centre also said they didn't know about my machine. This complaint is prevalent all over the net for all IFB products.

The office in calcutta where the CEO sits does not answer the phone. I have 6 numbers for IFB, all cel phone numbers but they are all switched off, the landline number has a person who puropsely lifts the phone and keeps it down to ensure you lose money. These belong to people high up in the ranks. I wish I could post this outside shops selling IFB products.

Worst customer service IFB products
Oct 01, 2009 12:04 PM 9328 Views

I have bought a IFB Microwave oven 30S, few months back. Within a year the front circut board has a problem and the start button is not working. I have called customer care and registered a complaint on sep 5th 2009. A guy came from some franchises and checked the board and informed me that the circut board has a problem and it need to be replaced.

He has taken the board with him, since the product is in warrenty. He told that he will get the board with in 2 days. But till Oct 1st (almost one month) he has not revert back. When I called to customer care and ask for the status they are keep on replying that the circut board is out of stock. I dont no without having a stock then why those idots are giving a customer service. My serious advice is dont go IFB product. Very worst customer service.

The cost of spare parts of IFB Microwave ovens is astronomical. The initial cost of the product is less, but they make money by pricing their spare parts in such a manner that the cost of the breakable parts is so high that they make a killing in the long run!

Stay away from IFB microwave ovens unless you want to suffer a constant headache in the long run! In my case the glass turntable was replaced at a cost of Rs 1460/- for a product whose total cost was only Rs 7500/-. So I guess, over a period of time, I will land up paying much more to IFB, had I bought a oven of a better company in the first place.

Never to IFB - Very Poor Support (Just lip service
Feb 20, 2009 05:50 PM 7454 Views

I wanted to share this pathetic experience I had while getting an accessory I bought with IFB Washing machine. It is a hose adapter, which is used to connect the washing machine to a regular house tap.

It is made of plastic and rubber. The rubber end which gets connected to the tap broke due to usage after about 2.5 years. Now, I have to replace it with out which I cannot use by Washing machine.

Now starts the whole story. I placed a request with IFB. 3900 4321. The first call was attended by a girl. She was very cordial, got all the details from me, and promised that it will be immediately addressed. Good God! I thought . finally I see one support which is as expected.

I had given by new address as well as my new phone number. She pleasantly accepted it, saying she will update the system. After that I started counting my days, though my wife was asking almost everyday what is the status. Please see that, our clothes are consumed, and at a verge to either wash everything by hand or use the same dirty ones.

Living in one of those houses, where you don't have facility to hand wash your cloths, that option is ruled out and we tried our creativity to put the broken adapter in use by putting some cello tape around it. We ended up using three times water, due to leakage.

Also, the washing took half a day due to poor water inflow. Pressure was mounting, and I thought I ask the customer support again, what happened to my request. Here I got in the vicious loop, I am still to get out of it, as of this writing.

This resulted in a routine call to the support daily for the past ten days. Once a very'patient' guy escalated my complaint to his manager. He, very modest speaking, who attended the call, with an aura of ignorance asked me repeat my request.

By now, I am used to repeat it with a very good fluency, though my English is not very fluent while speaking. I might have repeated the same words to at least five people by then. The pattern is really similar. The call center guy takes up the phone, and true to the rules in the book he is very patient.

I have seen all through my emotional exchanges, the guys kept their cool and sticking to what they are "told" - "I am sorry sir!". By now it is twelfth day. Back to the routine, now I start my emotional "discourse". Those guys apologize. Pattern repeats, The issue gets escalated.

Finally which results in another telephone number to me to Enquire about the adapter. Today is Friday, the fifteenth day. Till now, I have made two calls lasting 15 mins each. Again a promise, that I will get it today before 6:30 PM.

Waiting for the adapter to come to make by way back to home, which other wise will be a starting of a "yet another" disgraceful week end. IFB Support - Thank you for making me a person who could stand any adversaries of life - since I don't think there could be anything else which can challenge me like this!

Has IFB closed shop in India? Pathetic service
Feb 12, 2009 05:03 PM 8135 Views

I had registered a complaint for the Microwave Oven with the local IFB complaint cell on the 4th of February, 2009. I was told that the service engineer will attend within 48 hours. They also asked me for a convenient time and I requested for anytime after 8.00 PM and to call up before coming, which was agreed.

On the 7th morning one guy in IFB uniform wandered into my residence and asked if I had given a complaint for IFB Washing machine. When I replied, NO, he then pulled out the complaint card and realized that it was a microwave oven.

We could not communicate beyond this as he spoke Tamil only and I do not speak Tamil. I called up the local service manager Kamal and asked for a service engineer who spoke English or Hindi. The new guy turned up and again, the same language issue.

He simply walked up to the unit and switched it on, ran it for a minute three times, without anything inside, a procedure which is expressly forbidden as per the manual provided with the unit. Then he opened up the cover, fiddled, muttered something, of which I could catch only loose connection and, closed the cover.

Rather, attempted to close the cover for around 30 minutes and, then gathered his tools and left. **When I called up Kamal to complain on the service levels demonstrated, he advised me that, being service engineers they know their job and, if any damage happens because of their handling they will rectify it.

*I have gone up the chain and got the numbers of even the VP Disservice (no one picks up the calls) service and repeatedly sent mails but till date there has been no response. I am posting the names and numbers of the people I had spoken to.

  1. Kamal - Manager(Damager?) Service Tamil Nadu

  2. Dipankar Malik RSM East - Gave me the number of Pawan RSM South

  3. A S Negi VP - No one picks up the call, both landline and mobile.

  4. Pawan - Mobile number switched off the whole day.

This clearly shows the kind of attitude this company has towards its customers.

Simply put their attitude reeks of arrogance, and disdain for customers.

My Recomendation
Feb 09, 2009 11:17 AM 9437 Views

I am using this product for last three years. There is no complaint from this product even my frequent use. Customer support is very good. For installation and demontration [It is 100% free service and we have to utilize it] they have attended with in five hours.

I am using this oven frequently. Almost all items we can prepare, like Grilled Kababs, Chappati, Biryani, Idli etc. etc. Most advantage is drastically we can reduce cooking oil usage. Once, I try appall, It is amazing.

I am recommending to all, to use the free service like installation and demonstration that almost all companies are providing for their durable-goods.

This cost may be included with the product cost. In my case I have called them for installation and demo, I have exploited them to the maximum. May be because of this, I am using this product for a longtime without any complaint.

May be you are well aware of a product like, how to install, how to use, what to do, what not to do. But service people are technically trained people they can give more ideas. I will strongly recommend this product and company, if anybody wish to buy Microwave Owen. I am happy, if you got any good information from my review.

After Sale Service
Dec 30, 2008 08:46 PM 9135 Views

After 2 months my Oven get repaired today on 30 Dec 2008*

Complaint NO 2354561 dated 28 Oct 2008.

After several follow up with Customer care team a service person visited my residence and informed that Power Board has some problem and it has to replaced. After that no response/communication from Service Centre.

After hearing my problem, customer care given area service manager's name and mobile number. Tried and tired to contact him over phone send several sms no response. He may too busy *( thanks to the quality of IFB Products).

Again contacted customer care and they have given Branch Manager's name and number. He responded immediately and instructed service engineer to update the status. NO response from service engineer. ( If he is not ready to follow the instruction of his boss how can he service customers. See the attitude)

Again contacted Br Manager same thing repeated and he informed me Spare Part is on the way from Goa.

Finally on 26th December, when My family of out of city for holidays, I have received a call from local office of IFB saying that Spare part is ready with them Iinformed them I will be back on 28th.

The person contacted me told that he will come on 29th and finish the work. On 29th contacted their office, lady picked up the phone informed me they will come and repair 29th itself, till noon nobody turned up, I have made a reminder call she once again confirmed the same. At 6.00 pm I tried to contact the office nobody picked up the phone. Then I contacted Br Manager again and he informed me they will come on next day.

30th morning again contacted the office she informed me that they have some urgent work to be completed on previous day. ( may be a complaint registered before me)

Finally, it happened on 30th December, TAT 2 months 2 days.

I never faced such a worst after sales service even from a PSU or State Government Organisation. I never expect such a worst experience from a reputed MNC.

I do not know whether it is IFB policy or due to individual who is response for implementation.

IFB 20SC1
Dec 24, 2008 02:08 PM 9344 Views

I bought a IFB 20SC1 from a dealer in Bangalore. I am seeing the same problem of after sales support -- product worked during the warranty period only. The service response is really too bad....

I am still trying to chase the service personnels for the last 3 months!! (complaint# 2246119, 01 Oct 2008)

Upon opening a case with the support, the service engineer came and opened the unit and left it dismantled in my house for the last 3 months; without bothering about the complaint. For every call, the customer support gives some excuse and it is really disgraceful for IFB to respond like this!!!

Wrote a feedback in IFB website, gave a online complaint in IFB web-site (https://ifbap[pliances.com/); however, there is no one to respond!!

For every call to the call centre, the support executives give a new case number -- this is all the progress after many calls. The so called IFB managers also do not respond in a responsible way to attend to the problem. Either they say that the support engineer is on his way or that the parts are not available at present or that the manager has left the job. There is no one really responsible to listen to the customer problems and making an attempt to resolve the issue.

Finally, since few days. their customer support number (39004321) is out of order!!

BANGALORE India
Never buy
Dec 02, 2008 04:18 PM 9408 Views

I hope that atleast some people who read my post will not have the miserable experience I got from buying a IFB Mocrowave Oven.

I was looking around for a Microwave oven for my parents and in Dec 2007, I went ahead and purchased an IFB 20PG1S. This was a grave mistake. I had my share of horrible customer service at the dealer's where I was made to wait for around 4 hours from the time of payment to get delivery of a fresh piece of the microwave.

Within 1 month of using it, the microwave just gave in. Its tray stopped revolving and just the lights came on without any heating.

It took a good 3 weeks for the service personnel to visit my home and 'fix' the issue. Within another 2.5 months, the microwave again stopped working. This time, it did rotate, but no heating. Another long wait for service..around 2 weeks. The last strw was when it failed third time ..in the 8th month. 4 months to go for the waranty ro expire. The service personnel dragged the repair on for 2 months, and I had to go thrugh hell to get them to do something about it.

Escalated the Reqginal Service Manager, and still they did a shoddy job. Now after the last service, the over fails to work when the voltage is a bit low... it just switches its rotation direction while working. On calling the service, the said it takes a good 2000W and if there is a slight voltage dip, it will not work, and that I have to invest in a step up voltage stabilizer!!!

After this experience, I have learnt one thing: IFB has pathetic customer service..they advertise for 1 million satisfied customers..I just fail to comprehend where they got the 1 M satisfied customers. I beileiev those 1 million would be the last customers for them .

If you have a choice, avoid IFB.

Thanks,

LJ

Never go for IFB for it's bad service
Nov 27, 2008 07:11 PM 7799 Views

I warn everyone not to go for IFB. The service from IFB is so poor that your life will be hell. Every product requires service from the manufacturer, but when you will call the company, none will care for your sufferings. The company is Kolkata based, so they are lazy and irresponsible like Bengali Babus.

I had a bad experience with Convection model of 25 SC2. When it stopped working, I called on the service provider, but no one came to my house for 10 days. After that, when I called them again and again over phone, the technician came in a reluctant mood and claimed thousnad rupees for changing parts. My question, why should I pay within warranty period?

After paying the money, I got my oven working. But after one month, it got out of order again! After frequent calls to the sevice provider, the technician came again to charge an amount of Rs. 1500 for changing a'minor' part. What a bitter experience.

Everybody should avoid IFB for keeping peace in his home.

I bought an ifb microwave oven 20pg2s 2 months back . I feel its not so bad. I'm still in learning process. Only problem I faced is they have not given me the cook book. Which I was not aware about the offer. I'm not blaming the IFB. The problem could be from the dealer.

Ifb was prompt in giving demonstration. Even though I declined for a demonstration while purchase

Now it is almost 6 months and i'm feeling comfortable with my MW. Well the problem I mentioned about fish was mailny because of poor voltage ( In kerala voltage is very low during evening time). I'm a satisfied customer of this eqpt and mainly my father is using it, coz he is health conscious and having cholostrol problem now he is on almost zero oil foods thanks to MW.

I'll advice if you r non veg and need some serious grilling and baking go for convection
