During our last weekend trip to Mangalore, one of the places we had in mind to visit was this ice-cream center as it was highly spoken about and recommended by many.
Location:
The parlour we visited is on the market road at the busy Hampankatta junction on K. S. Rao Road and if you are an outsider it is very close to various city hotels like Mangalore International, Poonja International. I was also told by the locals that it has another 2-3 parlours in the city.
Ambiance:
This place looks to be tiny, not easily noticeable in the midst of the local vendors selling their products, however appears spacious and bigger as one enters. It has two floors and the top floor where we went, was highly chilled because of the multiple air conditioners running in there.
Nothing spectacular about the interiors but it is simply clean and decent place with tables laid out to meet your comfort.
Menu:
Obviously since this was an ice-cream center you could see variety of ice-creams all over - Gadbad, Dilkhush, Banana split, however there were some snack items like Samosa, Cutlets and one can also enjoy beverages like Coffee, Milk shakes, Fruit juice
We tried Special Gadbad and it was yummy and filling with 3 scoops of ice-cream and nuts, fruits and jelly.
Service:
Service was quick and nothing much to add here, though they did not look professionally trained.
Price:
I felt they were priced rightly, like we paid about 100 bucks for a glass of gadbad. The bill for 2 adults+ 2 kids should be about 300-400.
I am not an ice-cream enthusiast so, overall I would say, its good as an one time affair, however an ice-cream buff need not miss this, whenever in Mangalore.
- Thank You! We appreciate your effort.
