Let me share with you a few facts about the Hyundai Customer Care. The intent of writing this feedback is just to share my experience with you to help you to take informed decisions while purchasing a Hyundai Car:
Hyundai Cars
Designs & Quality: Good and reliable
Mileage: OK(not very good)
Cost of maintenance: Higher than Toyota and Maruti
Wear & Tear(overall cost of ownership): Higher than Toyota and Maruti
Hyundai Customer Care(CC):
Approachable: Difficult
Ability to understand Customer Problems: Poor(the customer care staff does not any thing about the cars or its issues)
Ability of Resolve issues: Very Poor(The customer care always will take side of the dealer/service center).
They will blindly put the customer and dealer(service center against whom you have logged the complaint) in-front and do nothing to resolve any escalation/complaint. This creates a fight like situation with no value add/support from CC. The customer approaches the CC only when he/she is not able to sort issues with the service center, but the CC simply washes off their hands from the issue been reported.
- Customer Focus: Very Poor
The CC will simply rely on service center's responses and will believe it to be true regardless of whatever customer has to say. The CC will simply forward the service center's response to customer and that will be the final verdict.
"The Hyundai Motors India Ltd CC simply takes all decisions in favor of the dealer/Service Center" and give a damn to customer.
Escalation(can customer escalate any further beyond CC): NO Ways. There is no provision to do any escalation.(You are just a customer who has paid for the car already, who in Hyundai has time to listen to you).
I am not sure if any of you have found better luck and have seen any decisions in the favor of the customer.
Hyundai Service Centers:
Cost of Service(During warranty): Less cost(but more than Maruti & Toyota)
Cost of Service(After warranty): Be ready to be ripped off with huge amounts
Non value added stuff: The Service center will inflate your service bills by adding various costs i.e. engine de-carbonazation, engine flushing, radiator flushing, additives etc. Most of the time they will say some seal/gasket is leak and will charge heavy labor charges(the cost of seal is negligible)
Cost of spares: Much higher than Maruti or Toyota
Bill Estimates: When you drop your car for service, the supervisor will tell you some standard charges, which are typically OK. But post few hours you will get a call that some thing or the other is not fine and you need to get it replaced/repaired. Be ready for heavy bills if you say yes.
The service center team gives a damn about the customer complaints to Hyundai CC.
Friends, I have my second car from Maruti and Third one from Toyota. The overall cost of ownership and customer service experience for Maruti is outstanding and for Toyota is very Good. Whereas Hyundai car really sucks money out of my pocket every time I send it for service.
The customer care of Hyundai is real pathetic and will always listen to the dealer/service center only.
I own Hyundai cars since last 9 years, though I was facing these issues since long but this time I am writing this review because the issue is beyond my thresh hold.
I have also faces some or the other issues with Maruti and Totota as well, but most of them could be managed with help of customer care. In case of Hyundai, you will just find yourself standing alone and the service center will have all sort of prevalence over a customer. The Hyundai customer care is just nothing more than eye-wash.
Just a special highlight, if you are getting your car services at Safdarjung Hyundai, Gurgaon, be ready of heavy bills, they will make sure to rip you from all possible aspects. After all, they make you sit in AC and have GM, Customer Relationship Mgr and so many other officials . remember guys all are in business to make money and the source is CUSTOMER. Just do not fall for fancies, try to look at the merits as well.
My last recommendation, while buying a new car, we must look for:
So, just think twice if you are planning to buy any Hyundai Car in future.
