~Confessions Of A Vacation Lover~
Jan 29, 2006 10:27 PM 2627 Views

Music is known to be one of the artifacts in my personality. I don’t know why it has been such a close hobby of mine but I guess I was just terribly blessed with it. Music bluff you ask? Well of course! I’ve had a lot of experience with different types of music. Most music would just turn my mood off but others would just lighten up my day with a whole bunch of smiles. Music is a passion in my life and has always brought me up to know my real personality. It wouldn’t be able to make my ears hear the music and get over with it. It also gives me the feeling that even though I am alone at times, the wonderful sounds of music are always at my side and close to my heart. This album has also been at my side for the passed time and it has been an astounding experience listening to the music.

Music Director: Ranjit Barot

Khwaahishon Se:

Starting off with my all time favorite track. The song starts of with some soft music going into a higher pitch but it definitely brings in the same melodious appearance into the higher beat. The sounds of the waves at the starting are just so relaxing to hear and it brings on a very cool piece to the music. Kunal Ganjawala & Shreya Ghoshal made the wonderful wordings seem so pleasant to listen to. I liked Kunal’s focus and his voice brought in a nice appearance of how the atmosphere might look while imagining the song in your head.

Khwaahishon se yeh suna hai...pyaar humko ho raha hai..

Tumhi to ho wo sapna jo dehka hai ji bhi liya hai..

Tumhi to ho wo lamha jo ab zindagi ban gaya hai..

Aashiyaan:

It was surprisingly fun to listen to Ranjit Barot sing this song himself with yet again Shreya on his side. The soft tuned rhythmic music in the song really caught my attention. It’s a song which matches in well with the album giving it such a better feeling when you have more of the same song but then again the songs are just so mesmerizing to listen to. The song gives me the feeling of something like tropical paradise with palm trees and the cool winds surrounding the atmosphere. Those who are into the sounds of nature and imagination (which I am sure everyone is..right?) They will definitely love this song.

Aashiyaan ban gaya mera dil aaj se..

Meherbaan ho gaya ishq bhi aaj se..

Aaj ko Bandh lo mein in zulfoon se..

Neele Neele:

The song would definitely come to everyones liking because im sure it has that sort of appeal to most people. Neele means Blue and it’s my favorite color as well. The lyrics bring in such a sweet melodious piece into the song. Shreya is obviously ruling this album because it appeals to her voice very well and and Vijay Prakash sounded wonderful and matched in well with Shreya’s voice to make the song feel to romantic to listen to. I like the way the music director brought in the same feeling but a different picturization into the minds of all listeners of the album.

Neele neele aasmaan thale kaboon ke woh kafile...

Chalo aisi jagah chale aisi jagah chale...

Suraj chand ke pare pariyon ka patha milen...

Tu Hai Bhataktha Jugnu Koi

Shreya’s voice in this song was so wonderful that I just cannot find the most sufficient word for her voice. She starts of the song alone and her remedy just brings you more into the feeling of the song and just takes you into your own imagination. I would say overall Shreya has sung such common songs but in this song even though it seems obvious she still catches my attention everytimes she sings such songs. Nothing else said here but that the song was amazingly wonderful to hear and gives such a unique and smooth addition to the album.

Bahoon mein lehke mujhe sikha de sang mein tere naach lu..

Jaise koi mor hai nache pehli baharron mein..

Tauba:

I liked the flute which played continuously in the background song. The song brought in such a different emotion to the album as Ranjit Barot once again appears to be performing in his own album. It’s the type of song one would want to listen to when they are feeling low and sad or maybe if you want your mood to be relaxed in a way , not gaining further depression. The lyrics are heart touching and so thoughtful to hear and I’d say the appearance of this song goes a long way into this album because of it’s wonderful music.

Tauba yeh kya dil toot ke chala..

Naseebon ne khela hai yeh khel kaise...

Tooti tumse dosti mere yaar...

Move With My Body:

A cool and fun to listen to track with some mixed hindi and english in it. I had a feeling even though this album would be different to others and bring a different feeling to peoples ears, there would have to be a song which would be remix type. I liked the way Dominique Cerejo mixed in the hindi with the english lyrics so fluently. It’s a hinglish song but has a different beat and feeling to it. Nice to listen to at any time of the day just to keep your mood up at all times....

Raqs Kar Le:

I was impressed to Shaan’s was of singing in this song. He has been singing amazing songs for a while now and obviously he would’ve done a spellbounding performance in this one. The song brings out a good meaning and yet again categoried into a situational sort of track. The wordings are really touching and relaxing to listen to and all said and end all the song just rocks...

Raqs kar le todh de sab zanzereen..

Aa mila kadam sajegi woh mehfilen..

Aashiyaan (Remix):

I loved this remix because I was able to feel it’s flow and the reason it was made into this album. Practically the same song as the Original but in a much higher and faster beat. Atleast one song in an album is transformed into a remix to spice up the album a bit and this one was pretty good.

Sounds Of Nature:

To be honest..I fell asleep listening to this. It was just so relaxing that I could bear to keep my eyes open but my ears where definitely hearing the hypnotizing me into the feeling of natural beauty. I liked the smooth pitched beat. It more like summed up all the songs in the album to make up one whole song in the album.

The album is just as mesmerizing as you are thinking right now. It brought in the main source of music and showed how powerful music can be. Heck, it was powerful enough to put me to sleep! For another tip..listen to this album when your on a Holiday ;)

Do rate and comment on my review. Looking forward to your thoughts..

~* The Theory of Eternal Recurrence *~
Dec 31, 2005 10:03 PM 2451 Views

The theory of eternal recurrence; I learnt of it from a book/ magazine (I really can’t remember which one…me and my goldfish memory). It had me confused, half expecting the writer to go on describing some complicated mathematical formula in which the answer always gets repeated. But it got simplified into something much more understandable: It basically means that you should live every moment of your life in such a way, that if you had to live that moment again and again for the rest of eternity it would still be a good thing.

I spend so many moments of my life listening to music. I doubt a single day passes when I’m not listening to songs from the past, the present and the some-kind-of-future (like if the movie hasn’t released). And as those melodic melodies and harmonious harmonies glide through my ears and touch my heart, I know that moments like those I’d live repeatedly till infinite. :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was searching for something new to listen to, when I came across the music of Holiday, the new Pooja Bhatt venture. And even though Prasiddha tells me this movie is going to flop, and even though I know its going to flop, I’m going to like it…because it has three of my favourite things in it: Goa, dancing and Dino Morea! :D The music is by Ranjit Barot. It’s of a different kind, not something I’d usually listen to because it doesn’t have any fast dance numbers or typical filmi tracks! But its been done to fit in with the dancing of the film – Latino music. So here are the songs:
:::Khwaahishyon Se:::
It’s smooth, slow, yet melodious…and you can feel how the dance theme fits in with it. You can even hear the sound of the waves and some Caribbean calls at the beginning. Listen to Shreya reach those notes of eternal bliss with her beautiful voice, she is really a wonderful singer. And so in her partner in rhyme of this duet – Kunal Ganjawala! I think it’s my favourite song from the whole album, because of its composition and https://lyrics.
Khwaahishyon se yeh suna hai/ Pyaar humko ho raha hai
Tumhi to ho voh sapna jokha hai jee bhi liya hai
Tumhi to ho voh lamha jo ab zindagi ban gaya hai
::: Aashiyaan :::
Ranjit Barot is as good a singer as he is music director! He sings alongside Miss Ghoshal, yet again, in this song. This is also another light, fresh sort of track, different from most of the music that is out these days. It has faster background beats than the previous track. This is why it sounds quicker, even though the singing is at the same pace. The track reminds me of summer days, fresh fruit juices and cool breezes…so if you like that sort of thing, then give it a listen! But then again, all the songs have that similar theme. Aakhir holidays ki baat hai!
:::Neele Neele:::
Neela aka blue; my favourite colour… Blue skies, blue waters and definitely not a blue atmosphere! The lyrics are so poetic and sweet; I especially like the line which goes “saagar se seekho to khwaahish kyaa hoti hai…” This is Shreya Ghoshal’s hat trick song in the album, and we still can’t get enough of her voice. By this third song you will have realised that this album is one of a kind, and its not going to match your typical Bollywood music genre. Well, it’s good to be different and good to have a change once in a while :)
:::Move With my Body:::
There is something about Dominique Cerejo’s voice which I like, after listening to Jhoom from Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena. But I didn’t really like this song, as the start reminds me too much of Halka Halka from Chocolate, with the whole “behka behka sa yeh sama”. It’s a westernised track, with both Hindi and English lyrics, and a singer with a voice like that!
:::Tu Hai Bhatakta Jugnu Koi:::
This song has a very Spanish feel to it. For some reason I like the lyrics of this song, but not much else. Apart from Shreya’s voice, but I’ve already mentioned that enough times. :)
:::Raqs Kar Le:::
And the amazing singer of the century Shaan sings this song (wow, that’s like a tongue-twister). But I didn’t like that random person’s voice doing a silly speech in the middle of Shaan’s so-called solo! Somewhere or the other this song reminds me of The Time of my Life from Dirty Dancing. And I even think this movie is going to be a lot like that one, just hope it’s not overly influenced!
:::Tauba:::
This is the heartbreaking song, rendered so well and sung by the same person – Ranjit Barot. There’s a flute playing faintly in the background and I think that makes the piece so effective. So if you’re in a sad mood, or want something mood-filled and relaxing to listen to, then this is the song for you.
:::Aashiyaan - Remix:::
Ok, so the soundtrack isn’t that far away from Bollywood, coz it still has the remix factor. Why?! Hmmm, I wonder how much money remix “artists” make. I’d love to be one, make dosh out of adding faster beats, some rubbish and random inane whispers and non-desi lyrics everywhere :P
:::Sound of the Future:::
Nice way to finish the album, by a musical looking into the future. Its really cool music, very salsa-ish and danceable to (if you can do salsa that is :P). It’s a great way to sum up the music of the whole album, because its got elements from each of the tracks listed above.
So “come fall in love…with your self”, as the movie says. In the New Year have faith in others, but most importantly have faith in yourself…the skies are the limit!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Technically you all could have skipped the above and read the following….because the real reason I wrote this review is to wish all of you a...

very very very Happy New Year! Hope its filled with lots of fun and happiness and more great times on MS :D

C ya

Ashi :D

PS- Now’s the point where you leave me a comment saying “Wish you the same!” otherwise I might feel offended. And you wouldn’t want to upset someone on the last day of 2005, would you? :P

PSS- If you want to read a decent end-of-year review then read Chandra’s latest….its so sweet….and its dedicated to moi! :P

~~~Album for a Holiday season~~~
Nov 29, 2005 09:13 AM 5717 Views
So many albums release and it is hard to pick up the right one or the one which soothes one's mind. But if the album has one of the favorite singer (shreya here) donning it, then you give it a hear even if it does not have great music director involved it.Ranjit Barot, as many of you might know, assisted Anu Malik in Main Hoon Na. Other than that, he does not have a great history.
Holiday starring Dino Morea and the already forgotten Inteha DEBUT heroine Nauheed Cyrusi has some good tracks which will definitely impress you and more importantly, it has melody.
Khwaahishon Se
It starts off with some uncomprehendable beats and voices and Kunal Ganjawala starts his melodious overtures from there. He sounds very melodious and his devoted voice makes this song a very good hear. Kunal's voice shows his musical base and it is definitely tough to even repeat his songs for bathroom singing. He has got the right pitch.
Shreya Ghosal sounds fantastic. She blends her voice according to situation and that is her speciality. More about her in the other tracks that she has sung in this album.
The song gives the feeling of love and at the same time, the accompanying voices and music gives the beach holiday singing feel. A love duet with the hero singing that he has fallen in love and the heroine says that he is the chosen one for her and what he has done to her. This song on repeated hears has become my favorite and some lyrics from this wonderful song.
Khwahishon Se Yeh Suna Hai
Pyar Humko Ho Gaya Hai
Tumhi to ho woh Sapna Jo dekha hai ji Bhi Liya Hai
Tumhi to ho woh lamha jo ab zindagi ban gaya hai
Rating : 9/10
Neele Neele
Another beautiful track in this album which would appeal to almost everyone in first hearing. The lyrics are wonderful and gives a beach-feel probably because of the film title. Vijay Prakash and Shreya Ghosal lend their voices to this romantic happy song.
Vijay Prakash is a new singer and has done his job well. He sounds melodious and at the same time gives the song the needed charm. I haven't heard to any of his songs and his first full-fledged song is good. Shreya starts the song and when I heard her singing Neele Neele Asmaan, Hazaron Thithliyaan dil me udne lage. She has never disappointed me with her songs and after hearing to this song, my respect and love for her voice has only doubled. She is impressive and carries the song on her firm shoulders.
The heroine wants to freak out to a place where there are blue skies and dreams of their own and the hero wants to be on her side and he also has the same wish and ultimately according to the story and the lyrics, they want to visit GOA. Their eternal love is beautifully penned in the https://lyrics. The music is very pleasant and never goes overboard and maintains the tempo thorughout.
Neele Neele Asmaan Thale Kaboon Ke Woh Kafile
chalo aisi jagah chale aisi jagah chale
Suraj chand ke pare pariyon ka patha milen
chalo aisi jagah chale aisi jagah chale
Rating : 9.5/10
Aashiyan
This time Ranjit Barot gets an opportunity to sing alongside Shreya and he is *100 times better than Anu Malik in singing. The initial lines start slowly then rises to a peak and comes back to the same pitch.
Ranjit barot's singing is situational but somehow it looks bland sometimes (which is not evident in the fast paced remix number)except when he sings 'Ho Jashn' which is creditable. Shreya is the one who balances this blandness with sweetness. Seriously, her honey-dew smooth voice simply makes you sit and notice this song.
The song is about Love and it talks about today, the moments of love and the joys that love can bring. The theme is Use this time and moment of love, kyun ki Kya patha kal ho na ho. It is a simple song yet it says more about love.
Aashiyan Ban Gaya Mera Dil Aaj Se
Meherbaan Ho Gaya Ishq Bhi Aaj Se
Aaj Ko Bandh Lo Mein In Zulfoon Se
Tham Loon yeh pal Meri Palkoon Se
Ho Jashn Aisa... Jhume Jahan
Aye Na Aye... Kal Kya Patha
Rating : 8.5/10
Tu Hai Bhataktha Jugnu Koi
This track starts with a English Interlude and thereafter Shreya starts this song and this time it is herself alone. It is a very very melodious song and shreya just impresses you with her wonderful rendition. It is a slow and a passionate song and even though Shreya has sung a lot of songs like this (Jaadu Hai Nasha Hai for eg.), there is no sense of deja vu in this track and some lines from middle
Bahoon Me Lekhe Mujhko Sikha De sang mein tere naach loon
.....Jaise koi Mor hai Naache Pehli Baharron mein
Main Ek Paanchi sahma sahma pehli udaan bare
Tune mujhe udna sikhla dhiya kaisa yeh haseen jadoo kiya
This song is about the heroine thinking about the hero and she sings with lots of love and as to how much he is to her. Wonderful composition and mind-blowing rendition by Shreya makes this song a special one.
Rating : 9.5/10
Raqs Kar Le
This track is situational and there is no special surprises in both the lyrics and stanzas. It is just a normal song and delivered by Shaan. I like Shaan's voice a lot as he is also one of the devoted singer in the hindi film industry and slowly emerging in the tamil film industry. But this song talks about freeing yourself from the shackles and show yourself as a star to the world. But the instruments used in the song are good and since it looks like a situational number, I feel that it will look good if played in the background. Some lyrics
Raqs Kar Le Todh De Sab Zanzeeren
Aa Mila Kadam Sajegi Woh Mehfilen
Rating : 7.5/10
Tauba
Another situational track and this time Ranjit Barot hits with a solo. It is a sad number and Ranjit has done this pathos number better than the Aashiyan duet. It has very minute instrumentation. This song will definitely be in the background where the hero remembers the good days spent with his lover before breaking up and repents about the loss. Some lyrics
Tauba Yeh Kya Hua Dil Toot ke Chala
Naseebon ne khela hai yeh khel kaisa
Tooti thumse dosti mere yaar....
Rating : 7/10
Aashiyan (Remix)
Personally I don't like remixes. Remix according to me is like taking away the originality of the song. I think people who like remix albums will definitely like it than the slow version of the song. Ranjit's voice is balanced in the fast version. Since every album has a mandatory remix of a song in the album, this is added. No ratings for remix!
Move with my body
A hinglish track is always needed to complete an album just like how we have a remix album in every album. This starts off with some hindi lyrics and then comes the tagline 'move with my body'. But what surprises is the way the female singer blends the song just like an english song with hindi https://lyrics. She is absolutely fantastic. Unlike other hinglish songs, this doesn't have fast instruments which hamper the vocals. It is more like a situational track and will definitely be a speed-breaker to the movie flow.
Rating : 7.5/10
Sounds of the Future
Last but not the least, there is an instrumental piece which is more like a Salsa musical piece. The promos of the movie shows this musical piece in the background. It has nice beats but it is repetitive. But it still makes a difference when heard with eyes closed.
Rating : 7/10
Overall, Ranjit Barot has come up with something really splendid. In the era of music with so many beats and mahiyas/english raps, this album is a welcome relief. The music is melliflous and the album grows on you on repeated listening. Go for Holiday if you want to explore different facets in music.
Overall 8.1/10 for this Album.Listen to it and you will definitely like it!
