Hitachi does not seem to have done their home work for India.
Bought their High End ‘Big French’ refrigerator/fridge just over 2 year ago.
The water dispenser ran into a problem right in the beginning and required more than one visit to rectify. This finally got fixed only 10 months after the purchase.
Now the compressor seems to have played up/ Gas was required to be filled.Their promise of 48 hours TAT stretches to 72 hours – but what is 12 hours, right?(Well then, do not make false promises)
Well all would/ could be forgiven if it only worked after that!
The cooling has packed up again! In just 5 days!(used one exclamation for each day it survived.)
This time they were quick to reach my home. Same day itself(Thank you)
Solution? The fridge needs to be taken away.wow! So what did they do the first time around? Of course they charged me.(ps: there are no discounts on charging ‘esteemed Customers’.however, there could be discounts on servicing STANDARDS being provided.)
I am now scared of their transportation capabilities. If they cannot fix a refrigerator which is their Core business worldwide, how can you hold them responsible for their Transportation capabilities? What will I do if it is scratched? I have this funny and uneasy feeling of a ‘Sir, thoda hi scratches hain.ethna to hoga na.ethna bada fridge hai na!’ reply(Translated to English: “Sir, only a few starches.this is bound to happen.after all this is a big fridge.”) and 'Sir, those 2 bumps/depressions on the body were already there when we took it.'
I am waiting to see how a Japanese company proudly handles their ‘top end’ customers. I have seen an inglorious past, I am holding my breadth as I get ready for an uncertain future.
Just thought I should mention - I have always used a stabiliser to protect the fridge from power fluctuations.
By the way, on both occasions the engineers enquired very enthusiastically if I wanted to go for an AMC. I asked them if they felt their product was superior to the ‘lowly Korean companies like LG’. They shut up when my wife enquired if this is going to be an annual feature and told them that we used and are still using, both LG and Samsung, for years and not once did we have any such problem.
The joke in the house is'This is an expensive cupboard.'. and to put it up for sale on Ebay in the Furniture section. While Hitachi may take treat its product and Indian Customers as a joke, it does cause us a lot of hurt. I am not getting into the wastage of a lot of food and the problems being faced due to a lack of a fridge in our home.
What seems to be coming out rather clearly is that this Japanese company does not seem to have done its homework for India.
It is time Hitachi got its act in order!
