14 yo fridge from Hitachi

We bought our Hitachi fridge 14 years ago and it is still in good working condition until now. We moved house one time with all the appliances and furniture but this fridge never gave us any problem.


I cannot comment on customer service since we didn’t experience any malfunction on the fridge. Hence, don’t see the need to contact them.

My Hitachi Refrigerator bought in UAE in 2017 is not working since last tuesday and we lodged complaint with consuner service.The agent assigned did not send anyone but when the matter was escalated a service engineer was sent from Hitachi on sunday . Today we got a call stating that international warrantly is not valid and a quote was given for new compressor for about twenty three thousand with just one month warranty! Highly disappointing.I regret buying hitachi products and will not buy anymore .In this context I will put on record that kelvinator refrigerator bought in UAE in 1994 and brought to India in 2002 was in working condition even in 2020 till we disposed it off.

Defective piece & horrible service

Never buy a hitachi refrigerator. It started giving problems after 6 months. Had to spend 5200/- on a part which was as usual not under warranty. Now 1 1/2 years later again some problem. God knows what I have to pay now. Please don’t spend your hard earned money on this. Samsung & LG are much better brands.

I am highly disappointed with my purchase of a refrigerator from Hitachi. I bought it in the year 2017 and just within a short span, the refrigerator started showing new problems and a few months later, it stopped functioning properly.


I've shared Product Details below:

There is no cooling. Even the food compartment is warming up. Plus, there has always been noise problem with it from the beginning - all of this is creating a huge mess because this is a major utility appliance and one cannot do without it.


I am displeased with their services and regret buying this product from Hitachi and wasting my money. I would have gone to some other reputed brand like Samsung or Godrej.


We've always known Hitachi as a reliable brand for years and have always trusted it whenever we considered purchasing high-end electronics and appliances. I never thought my experience with them, their product would be so unsatisfactory.


Hitachi always cites its dedicated customer service panel and their quick redressal of customer grievances, but I have had a poor experience with them.


I even lodged several complaints citing the same issues with the company's customer service department, but nothing helped.


Previously, the representative provided me with a complaint number but since then, has not responded with an appropriate solution. Now when I try to reach out to them, they simply put me on hold or simply dodge the issue at their convenience and ask me to wait.


What kind of services do you offer? Is this what you call professionalism? A customer is contacting for such a long time and you do not even listen to their qualms?


If you are also looking forward to buying any kitchen appliance or other product from this brand, I would advise you to drop your decision. You will feel sorry about it in the future.


My refrigerator is still in the warranty period, so I want it to be replaced or repaired as soon as possible. I have all the required documents for an enclosure but no one is showing up any concern.


I've escalated this complaint multiple times but in vain. They have just got tall talks, fake claims, and pathetic service. Their contact number is mostly never reachable or they simply do not attend your query seriously.

I had bought Hitachi fridge in Dec 2020 from Vijay Sales Rajouri Garden.


Since then it is creating a problem. Ut is not giving proper cooling


Kabhi freezer se paani tapakta hai. Kabhie vegetables kharaab ho jaati hai. Kabhie aata aur kabhie fruits.


For the last 7 months regular complaints are lodged. But problems are nit solved.


They come keep on changing parts but it doesn't give proper cooling


I will never recommend it others

Disgusting that I bought a so-called upmarket Hitachi refrigerator, which came with a Thai language user manual only, and could not get an English language user manual, even om-line. The company is the smallest large manufacturer of refrigerators!

We bought this refrigerator 3 years ago. It was working very fine. 2 months back suddenly the cooling was reduced and we booked a complain on the toll free no mentioned on the Google. 1800123889988. Two service enginner had come named as akash phone no 842361xxxx along with another guy turned up and said that the motherboard is faulty and the expense of repair is 10000/=. Somehow we were not convinced and we mailed to the company stating our problem. They directed our complain to authorized service centre and a service engineer genuinely from Hitachi had come and it was very minor fault and got it fixed. And then we were told by him that hitachi customer care number on Google is a big fraud . So please be aware as these private players in the market place fraud ads on Google posing as hitachi people and befooling people right and left.

I bought a 650 lt 4 door Hitachi refrigerator in November 2020.


Since first day there is annoying noise from compressor as well as from dual fans.


After several complaints technician came. He accepted that there is noise but it will happen because it is build quality.


This is how they satisfy their customers.


When you buy a refrigerator costing more than 1 lac you will get this kind of poor quality.


I never recommend Hitachi. Nobody is responding on mail.

Hi All,


I have bought Hitachi Refrigerator some 3 yrs ago. The door is not closing properly so a complaint was raised. THe visiting technician informed that the door needs replacement and someone will connect with you ASAP.


Now its more than a month and there is no feedback. All our calls have standard answer that our team will connect with you at the earliest. I escalated the complaint till the Head Services but they have system generated response. So I wrote to their CMD through LInkedIn And still no response.


I would recommend to all to not Buy Hitachi Product due to such poor customer service.

First I will start with worst fridge please don't take it


I have purchased 3 years back Hitachi 2 door 660 liters glass door fridge from starting colling was not that great and the door alignment was also not good after exact 1 year and 1 month the door was came down so I call Hitachi department they have given me quotation of 25000/- they told me that we have to replace the door it will not repair imagine within a year it arises I was shocked to hear this then I temporery repair from local techinisian in just 1400/- rs. And in 2nd year gasket problem arise my local technician told me that he will not able to replace you have to replace from company imagine in 2 years door and gasket problem. We have used other branda also but this kind of worst product I have never experienced in any fridge gasket and door or any kind of problem comesaftet 6 7 years.


Please Hitachi improve your quality in 75000 range this kind of thing doesn't happen.

An account of the incompetence of Hitachi service

This review is to warn you with respect to the callousness of the Service Technician and the Service dealer and the gross incompetence of the Hitachi service centre staff.


On or about 27/06/20, I phoned the Hitachu service centre with respect to a defrost issue in my refrigerator and they promptly sent one Mr. Gautam Tiwari from Aryan Enterprisesto my residence.


According to Mr. Tiwari's assessment, 2 parts viz. The Defrost Sensor and the Timer in my fridge needed to be replaced. The same was done and an amount of Rs. 3950 (parts+visit charge) was taken from me with the assurance that if any issue occurs, he would come again and fix it.


Thereafter, in a couple of days the refrigerator started having the same defrost issue again and as assured by Mr. Tiwari who had provided us with his cell phone number, I called him. He promised to come to my residence the very next day and solve my problem but did not turn up. I called him again and again he would say the very same thing. This continued for about 4-5 days.


I then called the Hitachi service centre and narrated the entire incident to the attendant who in turn informed me that a technician will come the same day. But no one turned up.


Today I have spoken to a lady from Hitachi called Priya who also promised that a techinican will arrive by 2 pm. Since that did not happen, I spoke to another lady from the Service Centre by the name of Sandhya atleast thrice but to no avail.


Till this time, no technician has arrived at my place to fix this issue and I am getting no help from either the technician, or the dealer or the Hitachi Service Centre and all I am left with is the same refrigerator with the same issue and a hole in my pocket.


I request you to please consider the bad service and zero accountability of Hitachi before you decide to purchase any product of this Company.

Bought the 600ltrs. Hitachi Refrigerator. After a year there was breakdown and no cooling in the refrigerator part while freezer was working. Complained on site. Engineer came, sold AMC but Refrigerator stopped working after a week again. Thereafter 4 Engineers came, could not identify the fault. Meanwhile the auth AMC office also was shut. No response now for 4 months.Also written to customer care

Horrible experience with Hitachi customer service. Most pathetic service ever. They dont respond to customers despite continuous follow-Up. I would give them minus stars. And additionally, what the service centre says is that they arent able to track and they are not authorized to know when part will come. They keep saying wait 2 days, wait 3 days. They dont provide a replacement either. Never buy Hitachi fridge.

We are totally fed-up with Hitachi Refrigerator.Hitachi claims to be a premium brand but it is worse than a Chinese make. After three weeks of our purchase, ice making system collapsed followed by no cooling in refrigerator. A technician came after three days of our request followed by same problem after a week. Again a complaint was lodged by us followed by two reminders, another technician came followed by same problem on the succeeding day itself. Very poor customer service and quality of technicians.Their after sales service is really pathetic.We have demanded a complete replacement of the unit or a refund of the cost of our fridge and in the absence of a favourable response, we will be compelled to take legal action against this company, be it the fridge, after sales and ridiculous responses from the technicians.
