Hindustan Times,a good english newspaper

I was a fond of Hindustan Times at home in the past when we subscribed to this newsdaily. In the morning it would be incerted through the window on the ground floor of our house.

First I used to go to the Kolkata pages and the city pages to take a look at the colourful picture. Perspicuous language to depict a news, not many use of bombastic, verbose words to exaggerate a news was perhaps never used in this daily. Due to this simple fact we stuck to this newspaper for many years of course along with a renowned bengali news daily.

This newspaper has many editions although headquartered in new delhi it spread its tentacles in temrs of reaching segmented viewers in other cities.

In my life I once visited this media house situated in front of Birla Planetorium in Kolkata. the atmosphere was good.

Come back to its newspaper, this news daily would always cover news from the field of sports and local entertainment.Although this brand is the market leader in the NCR region till today, it won the hearts of segmented readers once upon a time.

One time I went there to feed a news for public relation task and later the news was published and of course without a single price.

Please subscribe to this newspaper at least once a month to save its existence in the east.

The information they provide is excellent. The Hindustan times gives us a great knowledge about the economic and political situation of the country as well as has lot of its contents are fact based and true.

The power of news!!

Writing this review as a reader and not an employee. This newspaper has grown and increase its market share a lot in the past few years by the handwork they've put in providing news that matter. What attracts me into reading hindustan times is that they've kept advertisements to the minimum and given importance to strong new, what a newspaper should really be doing, right?

The different campaigns and initiatives launched by HT are something to take note of and respect to the editors for that. the recent clean up and parking space campaign was also a hit. I like the the sections which come with the paper as well HT Cafe and Sunday Brunch in particular. this way they've kept proper news and glamour news separate.

To read Techilicious by Rajiv Makhni and the personal agenda section on the last page of sunday brunch is what I wait for every sunday morning. they've always tried and given their paper a new look adding to the freshness and killing boredom.

Hindustan Times: a user's review
Apr 18, 2015 02:19 AM 2494 Views

This is not an employer review, but a user's review.

I started reading newspapers with The Indian express, then I shifted to Times of India and then to Hindustan Times.

Its annual subscription started with rs 99 per year. can you imagine that? It was like they literally gave it away for free just to increase the number of subscribers.

I earned more that its price by selling the old news papers  to scrap dealers in the area.

Then they started increasing the price, first it became 199 in second year, 299 in third year and not it is at rs 599 for a year.

But still cheaper and the news paper quality is decent too.

Pros:

  • Cheap and easily available

  • Decent quality news reporting

  • The Sunday supplement Brunch is just amazing. My Sundays are incomplete without it.

Cons: They just have one comic strip in their life style supplement. There used to be half a page worth of comics earlier. I miss that.

Verdict: In this age of quick information where we get the news even before it happened, reading a day old news has charisma of its own.
