Gentlemen,

On 5th of November I was admitted thro your casualty department after fixing the time with Mr. Ravindra Kekre. My flight landed from Ahmedabad @ 9.30 AM and by 10.15 AM I was in the hospital.

At the casualty they told me that they will admit me in fact one doctor even said that admission is not required.

Soon Mr. Ravindra Kekre came there and saw to it that I was admitted.

We paid Rs. 1.05 lakhs as deposit and I was taken to the 13 th floor if I'm not mistaken.

No doctors were available and absolutely no treatment was being done and I was continuously in pain and shivering mode with vomiting and loose motions.

Now I wish to know from you your version.

After which I'll continue this mail with the facts.

Regards

Anand

Was detected with lump in my left breast

Was suggested 3 doctors at Hinduja Mahim

1 st was dr Vinay deshmane

So I talked with his secretary Vaishali for apptmnt

I felt she was very rude in talking n full of attitude n 1 st day it was Thursday3/8/2023 she did not give apptmnt date after requesting she said she will call on sat

Then sat she called I told her I was not well and wanted to cfm my apptmnt with dr Vinay for Monday which she told me that was earliest apptmnt available

I cfmd after sometime she called me back n without understanding the mental state of a patient she started talking rudely that since u have shown some other dr at Hinduja why u want to meet dr Vinay

I meanwho is she to tell us whom to consult we r paying for consultation to take advice

After that again she called and cancelled my Monday apptmnt herself saying dr is not available due to his 2 BIG cases

I would like to understand whether PD Hinduja hospital doctors like dr Vinay deshmane are aware and allowing of such behaviour of their staff or assistant. I was severely disheartened because of the conduct of Ms Vaishali.

We were attended to By Dr Rucha Kaushik who is excellent and reinstantiated our confidence and was very caring.

Excellent Healthcare Services at Hinduja Hospital,
Jul 09, 2023 10:10 AM1103 Views

I recently had the opportunity to visit Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai, India, and I must say that the healthcare services provided were nothing short of excellent. From the moment I entered the hospital, I was greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

The staff at Hinduja Hospital was highly professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. They took the time to listen to my concerns, answer my questions, and provide clear explanations about the treatment process. The doctors were experienced and compassionate, making me feel comfortable and confident in their care.

The facilities at Hinduja Hospital were state-of-the-art. The hospital was clean, well-maintained, and equipped with the latest medical technology. The diagnostic services were efficient and accurate, ensuring a timely and accurate diagnosis.

The level of personalized care I received was exceptional. The nursing staff was attentive, caring, and dedicated to ensuring my comfort and well-being. They were responsive to my needs and went above and beyond to make my stay as comfortable as possible.

Furthermore, the hospital had a wide range of specialties and departments, ensuring comprehensive care for various medical conditions. Whether it was cardiology, oncology, neurology, or any other specialty, Hinduja Hospital had experts in each field.

I was also impressed by the emphasis placed on patient safety and hygiene. The hospital followed strict protocols to maintain a clean and sterile environment, which gave me peace of mind during my treatment.

Overall, my experience at Hinduja Hospital was outstanding. The level of care, expertise, and attention to detail provided by the staff was commendable. I would highly recommend Hinduja Hospital to anyone seeking quality healthcare services in Mumbai, India. Send a message

Mismanagement and lack of attention towards patien
May 03, 2023 03:41 PM1334 Views (via Mobile)

I have recently admitted my dad at Hinduja Hospital, Mahim. Previously, I have heard all good things about the management and staff, but when I actually came across the scenario, it was totally different.

Regarding the doctors, all they are concerned about is money, especially Dr. Tarun Gupta and Dr. Sudhir Pillai. Based on their examination, my dad was suggested to get admitted. Neither diagnosis was done properly, nor the treatment schedule was on spot and these so called primary doctors never ever attended the patient and posted a bill of around Rs. 18000 just for their consultancy. They have not even communicated for at least a minute to let the relatives of the patients know about the condition. Besides, the juniors are so pathetic, not so humble and give their own diagnosis. This really confuses me a lot and I am having my own doubts, related to the measures they are taking or the possible diagnosis (yet they are unable to identify the cause of my dad's jaundice let alone the treatment).

The staff is rude and unattentive and is never there when the patient needs utmost care. Never in my life I am taking any treatment from any doctor from this hospital. There is no follow up of patient and the management functions at the lowest possible level.

One thing is clear that people need to take care of their health, there doesn't exist any doctor who will care for your well being, they are all after your money, I am currently trying to figure out where exactly the additional charges have been imposed......

Poor management an unprofessional clinical ethics
Dec 04, 2022 06:38 PM2171 Views

I was admitted as an international patient to the hospital on 27th November for PAE treatment and discharged on 29th November. On admission, I was given a covid test and then all my belongings were searched before I was taken to my room. This has never happened to me in any other hospital in the world and was far from the "homely" description of the hospital on its website - it felt more like entering a rehab or penal institution. I was followed closely by staff from the Billing Section(or men in grey suits) who immediately asked me to make a bank transfer to the hospital which was more than double the fees I had been quoted on line by the doctor. I asked first for an explanation - I was told that the fee quoted was only the doctor's fee and then for an estimated breakdown of the costs - this was refused - so a total lack of transparency from the outset.

Two nurses then spent three painful and unsuccessful attempts to insert a cannula into my arm. Finally, they requested a doctor - he took thirty seconds - which is probably about the average timing for this simple process - more concerns. I was informed that I should then fast for three hours in order to have a CT scan at 4.30 PM. The allocated time passed - I waited, requested information - no one was able to give me any reason for the delay and eventually after three hours I had the scan at 7.30 PM. After this, I was told that the report would be ready in 20 minutes and that a doctor would then come and discuss the report and the following day's procedure. Again another long wait - no explanation - until a doctor visited me at 11.00 PM - he told me that I had an enlarged prostate(yes, this is the reason I have come for treatment) but could tell me nothing about the PAE procedure - great.

The next day my procedure was planned for 11.00 AM. My first visit, however, was from the men in grey suits who wanted to know where the money was. I showed them on my laptop the transfer tracking which clearly indicated that the money would arrive at the hospital by midday. My doctor called and told me that he would visit me before the procedure to discuss the process, risks etc. at 10.30 AM. There was no sign of him at this time. However, another doctor appeared to ask me to sign a consent form, confirming that the procedure, risks etc. had been explained to me. I pointed out that this had not happened and that I would wait for the doctor. She however insisted on my signing, saying that unless I complied, the procedure would not go ahead - medical ethics out of the window. Then began another long wait and frequent requests for information about the delays. The nurses all claimed to know nothing, so I requested to see someone from Customer Care. He came and promised to find out what was happening - I never saw him again. Finally, at 2.00 PM(3 hours late) I was taken down for the procedure. There the doctor informed me that the men in grey suits refused to authorise the treatment until the money transfer was sitting in the hospital bank - incredible. Consequently, the doctor was in a hurry and I received no full explanation about the procedure.

On day three it was agreed that I should be discharged once the billing process was completed. It turned out that the hospital owed me a refund of 25, 000 rupees - however, the men in grey suits would not authorise a cash refund as requested by me but that the money would be transferred back to the UK. To date I have received no response from the hospital regarding this refund or my email containing my bank account details(Mr Fernandes). I also noted that I was being charged for a thermometer. I pointed out that my temperature had not been taken once since admission(a clinical failure - vitals) only to be told that the records showed that my temperature remained normal. This is clearly a falsification of medical records. Another nurse called me a liar and claimed that she had personally taken my temperature. This is totally unacceptable and unprofessional conduct and is the first time in my lifetime to be accused of lying to hospital staff. This person should be disciplined and/or sent on a training course on patient care.

Needless to say I would never use this hospital again or recommend it to any other person. The management is poor, there is clinical falsification of records and poor medical ethics, non existent communication and a total lack of respect/trust for the patient. Finally there is a total lack of financial transparency of the costs and ironically I could have flown home to my own country and done the procedure for a lower cost.

ICU 10 th florr west wing bed no.11
Nov 17, 2022 05:14 PM1736 Views (via Mobile)

Great doctors but the nursing staff, security and admission counter needs training in empathy. My father was in his last stages and passed away on the 16th of November, 2022. We had to keep reminding the nurses in icu to keep us updated. The interest was more in writing in the files than the patient who needed a close eye. Just because someone is in their last stages doesn't mean you don't respond to their cry.

Also this isn't my first bad experience j. IcU or the first review I'm writing. The customer service dept. Does get back but that's all. All you get is a apology but no solid proof that changes have been made. My dad had been in and out of icu quite a few times but sadly nothing has changed . You pay to be ill-treated by the nurses and security.

Mumbai India
Great doctors at the cost of awful service
Feb 07, 2022 02:55 AM2712 Views (via Mobile)

Apparently, the cost depends on the grade of room you decide to move in post surgery. A decent twin sharing room costs double (which could include an unreasonable 3.5lac deposit just for the room) than the general ward. The cost for the room and surgery / other services costs should be kept separate. This is how they can treat their patients with better care that they seek. It looks like the hospital is made for VIPs only. The hospital staff create their own rules for patients. Apparently, a patient should be accompanied with one visitor only but I have had three people with the patient besides our bed.

Also, they had maintenance work on 5th floor (assumed) whole weekend. This is just the floor above their temporary care facility where mostly patients who are about to go to surgery or moving out from ICU are kept temporarily. Imagine being operated or being in pain and stuck within noisy walls. That was the patient experience for 2 days.

Lastly, they do have a customer service department which has staff that is present to serve the hospital only. More like a hospital convenience care. These people need to learn to be better humans before even being worthy enough to be call customer care executives.

The quality of services provided are poor. We never have had such an awful experience with hospitalization anywhere in India. Expected much better care than this especially in the South Bombay locality.

Never ever returning to this hospital again.

Image attached has a proof of the space available for the patients support to sleep. Amazing setup.

My mom went for a test a week back and she went alone there i couldn't accompany her. She waited for more than 2 and a half hour and the staff was all over the place having a galla time, munching on snacks and sipping on tea, gossiping and enjoying their day while my mother sat there empty stomach watching their antics. Bunch of disrespectful, inconsiderate clowns. Pathetic staff! After the test even before the result they scare the patient telling tales about their condition and putting them in a panicky situation. Inconsiderate, disrespectful, inhumane bunch of clowns! Never going back there! 100% NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!

Pathetic radiology department
Nov 10, 2021 03:54 PM3120 Views (via Mobile)

So I took my mom to the radiology department for mammography... We were directed by our oncologist to go and take an immediate mammography hence we came here directly without an appointment... And just because we did not have an appointment they made us wait for like 3 hours...And the reason for the wait was that the radiology doctors cousin was also going to visit for the mammography..Hence they had to take her first even after she came an hour after us.. She was taken first given special care and attention and we were made to sit there for 1 to 4 straight.. My mom was is a diabetic and I being pregnant waited for 3 hours just cause we were not some doctors relatives...

Hinduja the worst ever hospital I had seen
Mar 17, 2021 03:34 PM3881 Views (via Mobile)

This is the worst ever hospital I have seen my husband got admitted for gamma knife radiosurgery and at the beginning they have said entire procedure takes 2.5L but the time of discharge they have charged us 3.5L, so the meanwhile tehy arranged the video conference with doctor Misra and he was very rude and if we ask anything he says that ask my secretary . Somehow he appeared 2 min and they have charged us 2k. They sent us a mail to start the procedure on 15th and the surgery on 16th we traveled all the way from DK it took us 13 hours to reach hospital then on 15th we reached at 7.30 am and here the main culprit admission counter people made us to wait till 12 in the afternoon that too outside , our patiance got bursted and told them to admit the patient. Finally they asked us to pay 2.5L as advance and , the worst part is after the surgery patient came back to his room and they have provided him biscuits to eat as morning breakfast and for that they have charged 120rs that too 3 piece of sunfeast biscuits. And lunch plain rice and sambar (no taste no salt ) rs 320 so please kindly avoid going to these hospitals they suck your blood.

Disgusting hospital
Oct 21, 2019 10:26 PM8677 Views (via Mobile)

My mother was admitted in P D Hinduja hospital for almost 2 and a half months (01/08/19-17/08/19 & 06/09/19- 20/10/19) mainly in ICU and lost her life in the hands of butchers. She was seen by primary consultant Dr Ashit Hegde, Dr Balkrishnan (rheumatologist ), Dr Alan Almeida (nephrologist) , Dr Reeta Dalal and by other consultants on need basis. She was diagnosed with ? vasculitis(they were not sure even after 2 1/2 months). Even after treatment she lost her kidneys. The doctors have mismanaged her case deliberately and are very egoistic & rude. They basically don't want to listen to patient or their relatives concerns and mainly are intrested in minting money. They will basically juice you out of your money till you break down completely. The decision making and communication between doctors is very poor and because of that patient suffers a lot. My mother was bleeding on the ward and even after making repeated requests to doctors to shift her in the ICU on time, they didn't listen. The main work has been given to junior doctors and they are incompetent to make decisions. Dr Balkrishnan is very egoistic and incompetent person i have seen in my life. Dr Almeida is intrested in making money and his assistant Dr Nikhil is inhuman and disgusting with patients. In ICU, they basically tie your relative to a bed with leads and don't let them move. It is worst than the Jail. They dont have any proper complaint system and everything is pushed under the carpet. The general wards are compared to government hospital.
