We are holding an HDFC Securities for more than 10 years old. This is an active account with KYC done and trades executed till Oct 2023. Then out of the blue on 1st Aug 2024, they blocked the account and marked it as dormant stating the reason, no trade was done for more than 1 year and now we have to do another KYC with full documentation for activating the account.


We write with screenshots and inform them that trades were done till Oct 2023 and hence marking the account inactive for no-trades for more than 1 year is not correct and request them to revert the status back to original status. But they don't, and instead point us to NSE circular number - NSE/INSP/ 49743. However that circular clearly states ". it is reiterated that while member shall flag the client as inactive in UCC database of the Exchange in case clients have not traded in the last 12 months, fresh documentation, due diligence and IPV should be undertaken only when the client seeks reactivation after a period of 1 year of being flagged as inactive i.e. after 2 years from their last trading date. Further, no communication seeking clients to trade in order to prevent accounts from being flagged inactive should be sent".


We don't fall under any of the above since we had done trades in less than 12 months in the past. Yet HDFC Securities without applying their mind are harassing their existing customers using a NSE circular. Even after escalating as per HDFC Securities internal matrix no response or action for several weeks. It seems the escalation matrix is just on paper, with no accountability whatsoever. This is how customer service and the escalation matrix works for a HDFC group company.

Waiting period on the phone call is very high, need to improve customer service, I don't have any material other than these two lines thanks HDFC securities is good compare to others but need to improve lot of things

The worst every trading account I have ever seen. Zero rating for their customer service. No email response. They have made me wait for 10 months and yet could not do a transfer from Resident demat to NRO demat. Totally disappointed. Regret why I opened an account with HDFC Securities.

HDFC Securities - Worst Thieves in disguise

My father Mr.Udaya Shankar had opened securities account when we were at Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. Later we shifted to Hyderabad.


My father used to do trading through a person called Rameshwar Reddy. As long as my father was doing business with him, everything was fine. Last year August, my father expired. When we called Rameshwar Reddy and told him that my father expired, he immediately said - "Ok no problem, my junior Mr.Khadar will take care of rest of the matter" - and cut the call.


The great HDFC Securities cares about their customers only as long as they are alive. Later they don't take care of transfer of assets to the nominee of deceased. This bloody fellow Khadar called us and with the help of their branch manager Ravi, misguided us for the next procedure. Instead of referring the matter to Mumbai head office, he said he will sell all shares and transfer the money to my dad's savings account.


In the meantime, the useless branch manager Ravi had tricked my mother to open an insurance of 1 lakh per year. He said that giving business to HDFC will make the transfer of money from securities to saving account faster. My mother transfered 1 lakh and got insurance done.


After insurance was done, this thief Khadar sold all shares and transfered money to savings account. But the Mumbai head office freezed the saving account citing the reason that transactions happened in account after client's death. It was then that we approched HDFC Securities branch at Hyderabad for clarification. That branch people gave us clear picture and then helped us.


All together, we had to get notaries done, affidavits etc giving clarification to Mumbai branch that we did not do the transactions, but it was Khadar and Ravi who did it. The great Mumbai head office, took 2 months to process everything. It took total 5 months for us to get our father's money out of their clutches.


End of the day, Mumbai branch did not take any action against Khadar or Ravi. HDFC main branch managers are encouraging this fraud behaviour. Shame on HDFC.


I am sharing the screenshots of my chat with Khadar. Once they cheat customers, they won't even pick our calls. My sinncere request to everyone, not to do business with HDFC Securities. They are unethical thieves. Especially there is a lady in Anantapur branch who takes advantage of people and tricks them to do policies.


Be aware of Anantapur HDFC Securities branch. Mumbai head office is encouraging these thieves.

Hdfc Sec Customer /helpline number only work from Tuesday to Thursday they claim they there customer work(mon-fri) . Even if your wrote an email to them you will receive on reply on tue-thurs. It really very haptic and time consuming process much more than government office work.

I am an NRI holding NRE and NRO account with HDFC and I had to open a DMAT account.


First they sent a link with some incorrect details, no application form. After informing, they sent right link but they could not be reachable and they do not share any mobile contact only landline. As an NRI, you are not living in India so every time you have to try on landline, which is difficult.


There was no proper explanation about the forms, our relationship manager was also silent and did not play active role. With difficulties we filled the form and submitted.


Followed by very poor response time with standard robot message popping up every time. They wasted almost one month just to give wrong message and understanding. I already have resident card, but they were insisting on VISA on passport. Which country on this earth give VISA on passport and REsident card, so this means they don't have any knowledge. This lady named Kajal Tadani had no knowledge, so she sought her supervisor's view, but her supervisor was even worse. Her supervisor name is Deepa Tejuja and she had never shared her landline contact details and on top of it, she was only refusing to process but through Kajal. Every time I asked Kajal to share Deepa's number so that I can directly talk to her and sort it out, but I was denied. Also all set of documents needed were not asked first time. Slowly and slowly they asked more and more. We already provided Resident copy duly attested by local notary in foriegn country, which they did not believe.


Then wasted more time, then I had to visit Embassy of India and got the passport and work permit attested. But this Deepa neither understood nor was willing to speak, she did not write even a single mail to address the issue, always stayed away. Then they insisted whether I have ration card or something like voter card, I said, this is not India where the country provide 20 evidences to prove that we stay abroad. Resident permit and passport is enough. Then they insisted to give electricity bill and telephone bill. Normally these bills are directly paid by employers and we would not carry, but now they started insisting, as they wanted to just find loop hole. I could fortunately find my mobile bill in my personal name, paid by company so I provided. After second thoughts, they asked for bank statement, which I also provided but these were not asked in first place.


Now I said, let me courier but they insisted NO and they will arrange for courier, so that it wastes more time. But I refused and sent the courier finally. Now after receiving all documents, its more than 45 days, till date they have not given the User ID and Password. I sent 5 mails with reminders after reminders, with no response. I then told my relationship manager, that I will exit my relationship and move to another bank with confidential note to their Directors, then my relationship manager by his personal contacts could get me DP-ID and Client ID, but till now there was no response from securities team.


This is just the beginning and it was my biggest mistake to choose HDFC, even Govt. is better these days.

Horrible service, they just do not understand the problem, share problem A with them, they talk of matter B.


Response time is pathetic, no reply to emails. I write 5-6 follow up emails and then you get one reply which basically says'we assure you of our best services'


I don't know how they recruit people and how does HDFC have such abysmal standards. I am moving away from HDFC Securities. Please please do not trade with them

Akash Janyani relationship manager spoke to me couple of days back regarding brokerage and I clearly said I am shifting my account as the brokerage is very high. Seeing my volume he said I will charge the minimum from tomorrow. I said send me an email. Then he disappeared and yesterday I called him he said it's done on the system I will send email by 9 am tomorrow. Now when I traded he is saying its not yet done It will be done on Monday. He changed his statement. I really request some senior to take action on Akash Janyani it and charge brokerage as he promised.


WIll not recommend HDFC securities to anyone!!

Try talking to a cluster Head of HDFC securities for a investment and he will make you feel as if we are indebted to them. I have never seen such reckless and careless customer service even if we want to make a investment. Cant understand why this arrogance or they dont want customers!

It is been two month I have no RM allocated after emails and calls HDFC could not assign any RM as they are not recruiting further any candidates.when I ask them to give them in email they said they can;t.


My question to SEBI and govt is


If a customer fails to pay bank or any institute dues there is penalty but when bank and institute fails why there is no penalty.


Last time I complained for wrong trade to SEBI. SEBI did nothing.all big players are very much connected.

With out informing me they opened the demat account and mail id they have entered wrongly and for every year they are deducting the amount.
