There are alot of chineese restaurents in manglore. Not only to me but alot of people recommend hao ming and its best.I entered this place because my friend recommende dto me.The serivice style , the food, customer service all werr great.I ordered alot of different kind of chineese food items that I havent even tried which all tasted great. When it comes to billing too they still maintain the smile of customers face by the average good price for the good food. The place looks a little old with a touch of chineese dark lamps and lightings, and I do hope they reniew it eith dome modern touchups.Beside this everything is good and I recommend everyone to try this place

Hao ming at its best

Hao ming and hao hao these two restaurants are best authentic Chinese food in Mangalore. I was lucky enough to taste in both the restaurant. In balmatta mangalore we can enjoy Chinese dishes. Yes we have to ignore the ambience. Hao ming is a not a huge one but good enough to enjoy different dishes. Very heart warming hospitality of mangalore people.

When we visit mangalore surely pork items will be best. I ate hot and sweet pork. Pork can be sweet I never believe but first in my life I was so happy to have that item. Awesome taste. I personally liked pork and prawn than chicken. They are specialised in pork not in chicken so preferred  not to taste chicken. But anyone die hard for pork surely give a visit.

Never Order from Hao Ming Again

We have been Patrons of Hao Ming before 1999 and had always found their service to be good. we used to have home deliveries requested atleast 2-3 times a week in these past 14 days.

However yesterday 11.03.2013, when I called up for home delivery, the people manning the telephone said that the boss has told them not to give home deliveries if the order amount is less than a particular amount. this inspite of having a minimum of 3 orders a week in the past 14 years! and I live just about 300 meters away from their restaurant.

It appears that their boss, no longer requires long standing customers.

Best chinese food in that region

I have eaten here numerous times during the four years (98-02) I spent at KREC (now NITK) and this is the BEST Chinese food I have ever tasted in India and I would rank it the best restaurant in Mangalore. Conveniently located, this place is great value for money but the service is not so good

By the way, I last visited this place in 2002, so the review might be dated, but I do hear about it from friends a lot, so I believe things haven't changed.

---------------- review ends-----------

filler (dont read): The review must be atleast one hundred and fifty words, the site says. Man who has so much time. Upper and lower bounds on expressions too. No wonder  there aren't many. This is torture

The place is a bit cramped. Not a place to take someone out, as I

learned on my first date. No privacy and screaming kids made it a

tedious affair

Great food, Good ambience, but terribly busy

I was recommended this restaurant for my first evening out in Mangalore and I was almost satisfied.

PHONE NUMBER:0824 2218693.

You REALLY need to reserve, especially on Saturday night!

LOCATION:

It is located in Yenepoya chambers ,just after Balmatta on the right side,on the 1st floor and I was initially put off by the slightly seedy entrance area, but the restaurant is fine..

But the toughest part was ... The crowd ( it WAS a saturday evening, I give you). Luckily, I had reserved, but it still took 10 minutes to get a table.

AMBIENCE:

Alright, a lot of chinesy lanterns and figurines that you begin to expect in most of these ''chinese'' places, a nice fountain in the centre with a couple of cute turtles. A fish tank that needs cleaning..

SERVICE:

Poor, as there were only four, overworked, harried waiters who had to do everything from taking orders, serving orders and clearing up... I felt that they should have had a least a cleaning and clear up crew..

We waited 10 minutes to order. And after the order was placed it took way too much time to come and we were famished.

But the food was (almost) worth it...

FOOD:

Based on friend's recommendations we had: Lung Fung soup, Spring rolls, chilly chicken, fried rice (very good). The dessert choice was uninspiring, just something called ''fried icecream'' For the uninitiated, it is vanilla icecream dunked in flour and deep fried quickly and topped with chocolate sauce, not bad if you haven't tried it before, but not something you'd like to try again..

The pork spare ribs are good I hear and the food is quite sought after.

COST:

Wallet effect? Ok, that lot cost us @ 500, which I feel is very reasonable. Mangalore is good for seafood and the prices are OK.

Decor was good, and some interesting tortoises( or turtles, I'm always unsure of them!) were there in a pool inside.

Service was mmmmm.... not too good, the few (four)waiters had to serve, clean and pick up... either many were on leave, or the cheapskates running the joint have saddled the available few with too much work.
