I had been to Hallimane for lunch on Sunday 17th October 2010 which is Dasara festival day.Me and my wife had a lot of expectation from Hallimane being famous for south indian traditional cuisines that too on a festival day. But out expectations got completely wrong.I some how managed to get two seats in the crowd where few others were waiting from past 30 minutes get a seat.
The seats were not comfortable, four people were packed on the table where two can seat comfortably. After this they provided a thali containing all north indian curries, a mango burfi, a small ragi rotti, a small akki rotti and chatni. Rotti was not hot and very hard to chew, when I demanded for hot rotti, they told thats what they have and they can not serve hot in the crowd, yike! :(
Later they served north indian kulcha and roti, which was like rubber, got same reply when asked for hot roti.
They served pulav and did not give curd curry which is usually given pulav in any small darshini (restaurant). When asked for curd they served curd rice. Thats it, your lunch got over. After they gave tokens to collect ice cream from the counter downstairs. one more disappointing thing.
Whatever they claim like, they prepare traditional village dishes are just for getting fame. What you actually get is same dishes that you get in any other restaurant.
I would have been very happy if they given at least any south indian sweet.
It was not worth of hundred rupees we gave for that lunch.
Very disappointing experience.
- Thank You! We appreciate your effort.
