Halli Mane
May 18, 2016 10:58 AM 8802 Views

Halli mane ambience and decor is superb and is pure south Indian restaurant. Here you get the chance of having traditional south Indian food in traditional south Indian style within the budget. Its a place where you can go with friends and family and enjoy good south Indian food.

The only drawback is because of huge crowd you have to take token number and stand in a queue till your turn comes, which makes very tiring. But after having the food all yours complaints you will forget and its my personal experience.

Village feeling

This same restaurant you will find in other South Indian village, same in Bangalore in malleshwaram. It's just looks like any South Indian Village. Very nice interior and surrounding.

The sitting area is very good, the rangoli designs on floor is just supperb, super designs painted on wall too. They also serves few food items in traditional South Indian way. They have both outdoor and indoor sitting. both are comfortable, plus very reasonable price, Go there and enjoy Plain dosa, in superb taste, in traditional way at very decent price under 50 only.

Really nice place to eat also neat and clean place with hygienic and good quality food.Must go their with your friends. After chokhi dhani in Jaipur, this traditional place is good.

Great south Indian food
Jun 17, 2013 03:09 PM 4481 Views

Halli mane has the most authentic south Indian food in the Bangalore. If u have carving for south indian dishes then this is the place to visit.

Masala dosas, Idli Vada are good no doubt, but the thali just takes it to another level.Delicious yet cheap when compared to slv's and other darshinis in Bangalore.Sweets are mouth watering.I take kai holige parcel every time I go there.

Way to go Halli Mane! Keep it up.

Please avoid this place. The waiters are rude and care nuthing about service. They say they will get corwd anyways and do not care to make things comfortable. Food is average and place is over hyped

Pathetic Experience on the Dasara Festival day
Oct 26, 2010 12:40 PM 4990 Views

I had been to Hallimane for lunch on Sunday 17th October 2010 which is Dasara festival day.Me and my wife had a lot of expectation from Hallimane being famous for south indian traditional cuisines that too on a festival day. But out expectations got completely wrong.I some how managed to get two seats in the crowd where few others were waiting from past 30 minutes get a seat.

The seats were not comfortable, four people were packed on the table where two can seat comfortably. After this they provided a thali containing all north indian curries, a mango burfi, a small ragi rotti, a small akki rotti and chatni. Rotti was not hot and very hard to chew, when I demanded for hot rotti, they told thats what they have and they can not serve hot in the crowd, yike! :(

Later they served north indian kulcha and roti, which was like rubber, got same reply when asked for hot roti.

They served pulav and did not give curd curry which is usually given pulav in any small darshini (restaurant). When asked for curd they served curd rice. Thats it, your lunch got over. After they gave tokens to collect ice cream from the counter downstairs. one more disappointing thing.

Whatever they claim like, they prepare traditional village dishes are just for getting fame. What you actually get is same dishes that you get in any other restaurant.

I would have been very happy if they given at least any south indian sweet.

It was not worth of hundred rupees we gave for that lunch.

Very disappointing experience.

Ugadi Lunch
Mar 23, 2010 03:46 PM 5115 Views

We have weathered the sweltering heat and serpentine ques to get hold of our lunch tickets on Ugadi day. Only to note that it is all a disappointing experience.

Food: lots of variety( but not all that extraordinary though)

Quality of Food: just plain insipid, drab stuff; except the ginger mix that is supposed to digest the food

Environment: lousy: too much crammed up; no proper ventilation or cool circulating air; very unhygienic conditions with all the dustbins etc all over

Price: absolute big hol.e in the pocket: for neither the quality of food nor the experience is worth mentioning; it is just plain useless

Service Quality: mechanical; robotic affair: people can engage the customer; provide the basic information on what is being served and what is in store. Pace of Service: truly robotic; they are interested in maximizing the goodwill and mad rush than to serve well one batch..one after the other without even having any time to taste, relish comes up on the platter...

Wish they could cut down the price, items, increase the quality of environment and the food.
