Buyer beware about Gizmo Secure mobile insurance sold at Croma stores. I bought a flagship samsung phone from Croma 10 months ago. Croma also sold me mobile insurance from Gizmo Secure. Now, I have a fault with my phone, the gizmo secure folks have flatly rejected my claim saying that my device fault was not accidental whereas the Samsung service center says it is. Gizmo Secure says I can read the fine print of the terms and conditions. My claim # is 9114427 at gizmo secure.


I have no words for Gizmo secure since they seem like a fly-by-night operator who are taking customers for a ride. However, I am surprised that Croma is hand in glove with such dubious operations. Why do they co-sell mobile insurance if they don't intend to reimburse the customer.


Reading though some of the posts at mouthshut.com about GizmoSecure, you will realize that Gizmo folks are duping unsuspecting customers in various ways. Frankly, if they should be investigated by govt agencies for their activities. PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD THAT folks should stay away from any product or service GIZMOSecure/GIZMOHelp with a 10 foot pole.

Experience with Croma


I was sold the gizmo insurance for my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge by a Croma executive, who convinced me to buy it because the S7 Edge did not have a tempered glass option available and in case my phone fell, it would be covered by gizmo insurance. With much reluctance I agreed. Last month, my phone fell out of my hands as I was talking on it. I immediately filed a complaint with gizmo.

An executive from Gizmo takes down my details. She does not speak English well, makes mistakes which I have to correct over and over. In all this, she tells me that my call is being recorded. I then give her all my details. She emails me a list of documents to upload after which she says that an executive will get in touch with me to check th damage of my phone. Since last month, I have had to upload and re-upload documents over and over again to Gizmo. I now realise this is a tactic to dissuade customers from filing a claim. Finally I submitted everything 2 days ago. A few minutes ago I receive a mail stating that my claim has been rejected on the basis of gross negligence, incorrect installation, incorrect set-up, poor care and maintenance, careless use. When I called Gizmo and spoke to the person in charge, I was told that if I had said someone pushed me and my phone fell, I would have been reimbursed. How can a decision be made based on an executive's summary of the damage of my phone and a couple of pictures. I plan to take this forward to the consumer forum. I hold Croma and Gizmo responsible for this. If anyone else would like to do the same thing, I urge you to. We can't be treated like this.

My experience with Gizmo help has been awful. Inspite of mentioning that the damage is minor they went on asking for photograph. Further to submitting they have now send a mail it is on account of improper maintenance. The staff doesn't understand the issue and there is no point escalating. I am currently in my attempt to raise a consumer complaint against them. Such fraudulent establishments should be shut down.

Hi Friends,


Please stay away from this fraud Company which has a nexus with Croma stores. Recently I have gone through a really bad experience when I submitted my Lenovo Tablet to them, as it was under insurance coverage . The front screen of my Tablet got cracks and therefore I completed all the formalities of uploading the clear images of device, IMEI Number, invoice details etc. I kept following up with them for continuous 02 months . Every time I followed up on status, I was asked to re-upload the docs. Finally after 50 days, my claim got rejected with a reason which seems to be absolutely unacceptable.So, my humble request, please stay away from this fraud company and let us try to blacklist such companies that harass the customers and lost their hard earned money.

Claim Status: Rejected after 2 Months.(All the followup was done by me. Gizmohelp didn't care about providing any info to the customer)


Rejection Reason:(I only wish the reason to be less lamer.)


I got my device damage while going to market. I was on an incoming call got pushed by someone from back and device fell from my hands and got damaged. I told the same thing over phone to help center. While filling the form I mentioned Incoming call as receiving the call and not as over received call.(I didn't new that I was being interrogated) & they made this the reason for rejection. As earlier it was in action thing(talking) & now its starting of an action(going to go on talking).


I mean it's not insurance company but more of an English tutor.;D

Let me tell you my experience with Gizmo. I have bought their insurance from Croma for my Samsung phone worth 35k after the recommendation from croma. I purchased the insurance in 3500 for an year like a fool.


Around a month back my mobile fell down accidentally however there were no signs of physical damage on the screen the phone stopped working.


The first thing I did as anybody would do is to visit croma and they asked me to go to the service center as there were no signs of damage service center kept my phone for 2 days and then told me that phone is broken inside and screen needs to be replaced which will cost arounf 8k so you better claim insurance, Then I called their help line and told them everything they asked me to wait for a day and call again next day to confirm the claim process.


Next Day When I called again they straight forward told me that the claim could not be processed because the incident took place on 5:00PM and I have informed them on 50th  Hours and as per their policy they should have been informed within 48hours. This is by far the Lamest response I have heard from any service provider.


I fought and escalated the call many times and told them about the situation that I had informed croma on the very first day but they did not agree and rejected my claim.


*I am pretty sure even if I would had all the documents ready they would have simply rejected my claim for some or other reasons.


Later on I came  to know that they reject the claims for all possible reason like mobile was found with a case for which they do not take the responsibility, mobile fell down from hand was individual's fault, etc etc.*


The point which I want to make here is that we buy such expensive mobile and then insurance after that thinking that our investment is insured, but in reality these insurance companies are just a fraud which they have started to fool around with innocent people.


Please Please be ware of these kind of scams and  and specially companies like GIZMO they will simply loot your money and will be of no help but more headache for your.


Better put some good quality screen protector and case in that money.

Sir, This is to bring to your notice that, Gizmo Help Gadget Insurance company doesnt entertains any valid claims which they promise while taking the insurance money from their customers. Their kiosks is visible in almost every Gadget Selling Retail Store. I purchased my samsung 7 edge from Croma Store while charging it slipped and fell down which cracked the back screen glass And, thus immediately I informed Gizmo Help on their Consumer Help Support number. As instructed by them, we got all the documents in place They conveyed this through an email that my claim was not approved as they see my claim as my negligence And, so following this when we showed our disappointment as our case very much genuine, the Senior Manager from Gizmo Help called me and told us you should have lied that it fell down due to other reasons and not from your hand. imagine a senior guy telling us to report lies. even after request, they are not willing to re-open my case and process it. Please dont trust Gizmo Help for Mobile Insurance or any other person. Their Sr. Manager Singh is also not cooperative enough, he makes lame excuse saying he doesnt know what to do now. Its not in his hand. And, their is no provision on re-opening the case.

I inform to gizmo help line about incident my phone display broken.they registered my claim and told to courier all documents to their office after one week they rejected my claim. Reason poor handling hahahahha.


Gizmo is froud company don't buy insurance


They will give always excuses at the time of claim.

Bought Samsung A7 from Croma at DLF Megamall in Gurgaon where I was literally nagged by the Gizmohelp insurance salesperson to buy their insurance worth 3000/- INR since the phone was all glass. With great reluuctance, I bought the same but in Sept, the display of the phone got cracked due to it being hit against stair railing at airport.


I informed Gizmo for the damage & they asked for the description of the incidence & the pics of the damage, which I did upload.


After a week, I'm told that the claim is rejected as the pics don't show the damage. I'm unable to understand, how a claim can be rejected on the basis of the pics as the camera can't rightly capture the crack on a black screen.


New India Insurance comes later, if Gizmo is charging for the service, it is their duty to make New India Insurance Company pay for it. They are facilitators & that's what they are supposed to to do.


Planning on filing a Consumer Complaint against Gizmo with Croma being a party as they are the ones who have sold it.


Never Buy Insurance from GIZMO

Are you planing to Buy an Insurance for your smart phone? Obviously every want to secure his phone from accidental damage, theft or any thing misshapen to his device. Why not? You have invested a huge amount on this and you need some thing to protect your device. I also prefer to insured my smartphone but got cheated. There are numbers of company offer this services. You may choose any one of them But Never go for GIZMOHELP.


But Why? Let me share my experience with you.


On last 14th Feb'16 I bought a Samsung Smart phone from Jumbo Electronics Pacific Mall, Subhash Nagar Delhi.The sales person offer me to by an Insurance for this mobile and I was convinced thinking that this is better to secure the device for any happening caused in future. During purchased I was told that it will cover for any accidental damage or lost. What I have to do is that just need to call up to help line and intimate the case within 48 hrs.


I was happily using the phone and for safety purposes I purchased back cover and screen protector. After all who want to harm his device and and chase with Service center for its repairing. Every thing was going well but on Aug during independence day my mobile got damaged while traveling metro. There was heavy rush on that day and on the someone push me from back and I lost may balance and mobile slipped from hand braked the display. Touch was saved as it was covered by screen protector.


As instructed next day I called to helpline and intimate about the damaged. The guy who was on call took about 20 minute to note my complaint. During conversation he took every details about the incident. How the the device was carried? Who was using the phone during the incident? Was it kept on purse or caring on hand. After listening everything he raised a claim request and advised to upload some documents to their portal. As instructed I did everything and got an confirmation that I can visit to authorized service center and submit the device for cashless service.


It was a busy schedule and not able to manage for submitting the device to service center but however I did that after couple of days. I submit the phone with all required docs to SAMSUNG care allocated by them .


After submitting the phone to service center I was assured that my phone will be repaired soon. But it was shocking when I got a mail from GIZMOHELP that my claim was rejected and Insurer will not pay any amount for this repair. I called up immediately to help line to understand why it was rejected and come to know that it got rejected due negligence in use.


This was not the end my friend. I mailed to helpline as I was not convinced with the explanation given by the agent given I talked approx 20 minute. Now I got another interesting information that they are not the exact insurer. The insurance company is New India Insurance Company ltd who is tied up with Gizmohelp. As expected I got same reply on email but now they mentioned another excuse that intimation was given beyond 48 hrs of incidence hence they are not liable to pay for it. Again I replied that the incident was intimated within 48 hrs only and now they shared some another excuses that Device was damaged due to incorrect storage, poor care and gross negligence. Phone slipping from hand is not an accident and this is careless and negligence only.


Can any one explain me the meaning of accident? Does accident means of breaking legs, arms, skulls or any other injury happened to a person? Is it required to hospitalized a person to probe the accident?


What I learnt from this incident is never buy anything from GIZMO or New India Assurance company. They can just assure you for troubles not for any support.


Was is not possible to inform me during intimation given to helpline or before allocating the service center. What I earned from from this is A LESSON. I waste around Rs 500 for this claim by calling to helpline and rushing to service center and cyber cafe.


Apart from all this expenses the Insurance was sold above MRP written on the box.


I have already posted this thing to Facebook and whats app, same link has been shared to twitter as well. I have also write this to many blog. And planing to go legal as well. You might not taking it this seriously but I will keep posting. I have about ten thousand email contacts who are active on internet to copy this mail if not received a suitable response.

The worst day of our life is to purchased this gizmo. It's actually named like ghismo . Please people don't trust this help insurance company. This is totally fake and it ll not help you either ways. They ll just give you headache. And even don't trust this croma shops . They are the only one who is providing us this fake insurance policies.

I am absolutely appalled by the shoddy service provided by GizmoHelp. After a week of constant follow-up, my wife's Iphone 6S was collected by your courier person on Friday 15th July 2016 to be delivered to the Apple Service Centre at Andheri. This was to repair the cracked screen.


TODAY on 19th July I received a call from Apple Service Center in Thane that the courier person has just now(at 4.15 pm) brought the phone to them and that they(the Thane service center) does not have any tie-up with GizmoHelp.


When I spoke with the courier person he told me that he first took my APPLE Iphone to the SAMSUNG center and they told him to take it to the Apple service center.


WHY IS THIS COURIER GUY NOT BRIEFED PROPERLY ON WHERE HE NEEDS TO TAKE THE PHONE?


WHAT WAS HE DOING FOR THREE DAYS WITH MY PHONE?


GizmoHelp, remember you are responsible for your vendors' pathetic service. Also your call center executives are like puppets who have not idea on how to solve the customer case.


PLEASE DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO GIZMOHELP INSURANCE!

Croma offered a Insurance Plan when I bought Samsung A5. Insurance costed me 2, 199 Rs for covering every aspect of Mobile damage within 1 year.


My mobile was pick pocketed a month later. When I went back to Croma, executive told we don't cover mobile lost but only screens.Drawing company into consumer court for mis-selling the product.

GizmoHelp is one of the worst insurance company and could not be trusted, especially with mobile phone insurance.  No matter how genuine your case is, their partner Financial Heights, who is actually responsible for payment will find out illogical reason to reject your claim.


I had Gizmohelp insurance for my Iphone and one day my phone slipped form my hand and the screen came out. I called Gizmohelp and told that it was slipped and the screen came out, at this time, no one asked me or told me that I need to explain the whole scenario(how it slipped) in the call and that is a part of their documentation.


I was under impression that I just need to inform them over the phone and then mention complete details in the form, which I did. I explained in the form, how it was actually slipped from my hand and also submitted the other documents as requested by Gizmohelp.


All the documents provided to Gizmohelp were verified by them and after they were satisified with the documents, they had given me the go ahead to replace the phone which costed me 25, 000.


After replacing my phone, I sent the pending document, that was original bill of replacement and photograph of new phone bearing IMEI number. All these documents were the forwarded to Financial Heights for the approval.


To my surprise, I was not given the approval and reason was my call and form details were not matching where as the only difference was that in call I said my phone was slipped from my hand assuming that call was just for information but gave completed details( how it slipped) in the form. How illogical it is to say that there was a difference. How a phone can slip from hand just like that, there had to be some reason which I had mentioned honestly in the form and that backfired me and logically where is the difference, the bottom line is that phone was slipped from my hand and this is what I mentioned in call as well as in the form, Its just that form had more details


Moreover if they think call details and form details were not matching then why the rejection was not made at the verification stage, these documents were available with Gizmohelp and verified before replacement. Why I was given the go ahead. If I was told this at the verification stage, I would have not spent 25, 000 to replace the phone instead bought some other phone.


I felt so cheated by this company as they could have rejected the claim very well at verification stage but instead they made me to replace the old phone and then reject the claim with stupid and illogical reason.


After the rejection of the claim, I wanted to speak to Financial Heights to ask them why tis illogical decision was made now and not at the verification stage but their number was not shared and they do not respond to email.


GizmoHelp and Financial Heights is one big cheater and no matter how genuine your case will be  they will still reject it by giving some stupid reason and then they don't bother to answer your question and you won't get any phone number.


I will be taking this to consumer court soon.
