Indian cuisine is the most wholesome out of all the food in the world. This is my belief and hence I would prefer a good meal consisting of our usual fare, rather than a Pasta, Pizza or a Fried Rice, which has a lot of other artificial additions to it. I had heard a lot about this place and went down with my family one Sunday for lunch.
We were welcome warmly by the staff and shown to a brightly lit table. I really liked the atmosphere of the restaurant and we were handed the menus.
We called for Koonthal Porichathu which was Squid marinated in Kerala spices and deep fried. Nei Meen Porichathu is round sliced of Seer fish marinated and grilled in banana leaf. The two dishes arrived soon and I loved them immensely! They were just so perfect!
For the Mains, we called for Idiyappam, Malabar Paratha, Thakkali Curry and Avial. The parathas and idiyappams tasted beautiful with the Avial and the tomato based curry that we had called for. We were really full by now.
In desserts I had to have the Payasam and ordered it. The Payasam of the Day had generous servings of dry fruit in it and tasted out of this world! I really loved this Indian meal and I know I am going to keep coming back for more.

I had never tried Malyali cuisine and wanted to try it out at least once. I have heard a lot about this place which is supposed to serve the best Malyali food in Chennai. I decided to visit the place with a few friends on a weekend. The entrance is really very nicely designed with it being painted white.
Though the decor is not really a reflection of Kerala, it is pretty warm and cosy. The seating is plush and the staff is very warm and welcoming. First timers can look to them for recommendations and suggestions.
The menu is designed in a very pretty way, with images of thatched roofs and the backwaters on it. The must tries here are the Appams, with coconut based gravies and other delicacies offered here. The Payasam is a hit among one and all. So do come down to enjoy some authentic cuisine of the backwaters.
Ente Keralam, MRC Nagar, Chennai- 600028 held a lot of promise of a nice and delicious Sadhya Onam lunch. Having seen their advertisements in the local newspapers since past few years, we were planning a visit during Onam festival. It turned out to be a most unsatisfactory lunch we ever had of Malayali cuisine in comparison to their peer restaurants like Sanjivanam and others.
First of all it is a make shift arrangement in The French Loaf restaurant where the decor and ambiance is videsh and European with no hint of Kerala except for a couple of colorful umbrellas planted at the entrance.
Accepting this as ok, we expected the Onam Sadhya to be good, special and authentic. The Sadhya had none of the attributes mentioned and it was a mediocre fare. The portions of were very small, quality no resemblance to the authentic Kerala variety and the only thing passable about the place was courteous staff leading one to comfortable seats. The vegetable curries were far from satisfactory , taste and fragrance non-existant ; Sambhar and Rasam were good; the dessert was a big disappointment, a far cry from the descriptions mentioned in the menu card. The milk payasam looked white in color and the other payasam was light brown; the two prathamans were dark brown. All the four table spoon quantities tasted alike and were excessively sweet. There was no fruit or any adai / prathaman present in them.
A bottle of Kinley water was charged Rs.45/- as against the listed price of Rs.20/-. No supari / saunf was offered - a normal custom following a heavy Indian Sadhya/Sappadu. At Rs.625/- per thali, It is not worth the price.
