Best Hospital with good treatment

My sister was admitted in this hospital for dengue fever under Dr.Indhumathy. The staffs were very pleasing and cooperative.

Particularly Dr.Indhumathy was extremely good and treated her. The nurses in the ward was very dedicated and service minded.

The atmosphere was so pleasant that she could recover fully within few days. Right from the registration to discharge things went on well. I will strongly recommend this hospital to everyone. Thanks to Dr. Kamakshi Memorial Hospital

Doctors cheating patients without giving treatment
Jul 02, 2014 05:06 PM 24268 Views

Kamakshi Hospital[KH] is one of the worst hospital I have seen in real life. Most of the movies has showed like Doctors are busy with the treatment and they are doing their best but in reality Kamakshi hospital doctors are busy in thinking how to earn money from the patient. Here is my incident,

my baby is 9 months old. She got high fewer on sunday. Most of the pediatric hospitals are closed on sunday. I was thinking for the hospitals near by Velachery. I got strike of KH(very badly). I googled the number and heard they have 24 hours pediatric emergency care. I reached the hospital @ 9:10PM, no doctor in hospital, one nurse checking my baby temperature, it was 103.8F. She was keep on trying to reach doctor. @ 9:30PM one doctor came, she told baby looks like dehydrated and we need put IV line to provide trips. I aggreed to give treatment since the fewer needs to come under control. They told us to keep waiting outside. They tried to put IV in the veins but they were not success in getting up the veins.  2 sisters and 1 doctor started to put IV at 10PM, baby was keep on crying. one sister coming out and telling we are trying our best please be patient [even for small problem they will give big treatment and create panic] and don't get panic. After some time, sister came out and ask for some water for the baby, after 5 mins again they have started searching veins for IV line. Baby keep on crying at 11PM again they have started asking water and repeat the process. We told baby was keep on crying and lossing all its energy so we have to feed the baby. They gave 20mins to feed the baby. @11:30 again they have started searching the veins and and they also got nervous since they couldn't get any veins. One more Doctor came @ 12AM from outside and looked into my baby. He was telling since the baby was keep on crying they couldn't able to find out the veins. If the baby cryies then the veins will be thin and difficult to find out, by this time they have inserted the needle into my baby hand and legs 20 times approx. new doctor told they will wait for some time so that you can give the baby cerelac. Once it becomes energitic the veins can be easily found out. New doctor go to next cabin, whispering to the sister and other doctor, if you keep on trying you wont get it since the veins will be thin. It will be like, 1st time you will be confident but you wont get the veins, 2nd time baby will keepon crying and you wont get it. 3rd time your hands will become nervous and you wont get the veins. New doctor go back to his duty. At 12:30 AM again they have started inserting the needels into my baby veins and couldn't get it, by this time My wife is also with my baby and she observed all the nurse inside the room was getting nervous while trying to insert the needle, by this time my baby throat was gone, she was crying for more than 3hours. Luckly baby fewer got reduced. Around 1:10AM I told doctor that you can give rest to my baby since the fewer is under control and we will monitor till morning. If there is a fewer in morning we can go for trips, but that doctor doesnot respond to my words. One nurse came out and told we are trying our last chance, if we didn't get it we will send you to the room. Finally my baby came out from OP without any treatment and send back to the room. Next day morning 9:30AM main doctor came and told your baby is under control and responding to the medicines so we will give oral drops. and if their is a spike in fewer we will give trips. she told I have found out a new veins and whispering I will ask senior doctor who has good experience to insert the IV line to the baby. That means for sake of hospital they are having doctors in night time who was not fit for the job to handle the baby with care [which was ridiculous].

Through out the day they didn't give any treatment but my baby has severe cold and cough. Around 2:00 PM I asked the nurse what treatment you have given for my baby, they told we are monitoring and if there is a spike in fewer we will give trips. [for sure they cant give trips since no one is there to put IV line properly]. I asked what about cold and cough? They told will check with duty doctor once they came. 2:30PM duty doctor came and enqiuired about the baby with us. still now they have not speak about the cold and cough. I started asking what treatment you have given for cold and cough, she don't have an answer and whispered to the nurse to give one drop. so many bullshit things happen with new duty doctor cant explain all this, will end with final incident of the day. 9:30PM duty doctor will come for a visit but that day 10:30PM but still no doctor. I was discussing with my wife even if duty doctor came what he is going to explain or give treatment. why we was wasting our sleep. So we decide to sleep. 11:00 PM doctor came. he told to remove the diaper and put underpad to calculate how much urine the baby goes on that night and gave one white  paper and ask us to put an entry in the paper with time. if the baby goes urine 2 times that paper should have 2 entries with 2 time. what a bulshit doctor. If they want to keep this kind of nonsense data then they have to allocate one nurse to monitor and keep an entry in the paper. Next day morining housekeeping came and ask what to do with that underpad where the baby goes urine. We told to clean it off. Doctor told to use underpad to understand how much urine the baby goes through out the night, but this can be calculated even with Diaper weight. I think he is poor not only in doctor but also in mathematics. Doctor have not even asked about the quantity of urine the baby goes on last day. Next day Main doctor came and told baby was having cough and cold so we have to give inhaller and nebulizer I was having a strong disagrement, she doesn't give treatment for cold and cough on first day, during 2nd day baby is recovering but the doctor telling we have to start treatment. KH doing all for getting money. 1st they are making the patient more sick and zooming us that they are giving the treatment and they are responding to it. I understand the formula how KH earning the money So I have asked main doctor to discharge asap by morning itself. she asked me whether you have gone for medical insurance. I said yes. she replied, to process your claim, it will take around 5:00PM so we will discharge you evening. Finally I told I will pay the amount and cancelled my medical insurance. After paying 14000+ my baby was discharged without any treatment, even I have not received any blood test result, they told to collect after 5 days since the blood test  lab is in another location. Now I went for another hospital, they looked into the baby and gave 1 antibiotic and 1 cold+cough+vomiting syrub for the baby. And told there is no dehydration, come after 2 days. Please be cautious about KH.

One of The Best Hospital in Chennai

I go regularly to this Hospital. My sister was treated there for Gastrointestinal disorder. I was treated for Stomach ulcer. Doctors are considerate, efficient and have service motive, maybe one or two Doctors may be arrogant, but mostly all Doctors at Kamakshi Hospital are good, all due to Dr. Govindarajan the founder of KMH yes the owner of this hospital is service minded so are others.

The Doctors whom I saw at Kamakshi Hospital do not try to make money by sending you for lab or scan test.  They give medicine observe,  if symptoms persists then they recommend minimal lab or scan test according to the disease or symptoms.

I vouch for Kamakshi Hospital. I am genuinely informing you to go once to Kamakshi Hospital see the crowd, the Doctors and then decide.

Thank you for reading my review.

Extract money from patients.

The pediatric diagnosis in this hospital is ok by the single pediatric specialist in the hospital. However, they force to admit the kids even for fever which otherwise can be cured by appropriate medicines.

Other hospital infrastructure (X-Ray, ultrasound) is being recommended again and again by the doctors if you admit your kid. Ultrasound was recommended when I told the visiting doctor (when my kid was admitted here) that my kid was complaining of stomach ache during the stay there.

The hospital canteen premises is not clean. Inspite of having such unhygienic canteen the dietician and the doctors question us why we chose home made food.

Most of the nurse there do not seem to have appropriate experience. They force us to go outside the room when they connect the trips. They are also rude if we prefer to stay. There were days when we had to remind the nurse that medicines needs to be given. The nurse in the ICU ward seem to giggle and play with their mobile ringtones which is pretty annoying.

The management here should understand that this is a noble profession and if practiced with money motive (recommending hospitalization for minor ailments) attitude and inappropriate conduct by the nurses, then it will never be able to win people's trust.

Also, a humble request to the pediatrician here, it is not right to recommend hospitalization for minor ailments.

I went to this hospital to get a treatment for seizure. To that, the neurologist(Dr. Rajeswari Ramachandran) told me to get a master body check up. When I approached that block, I was MARKETED to go for executive check up instead of master check up.

But, I opted for master and told that I will come the next day for that. As soon as I came out, that particular doc. called up the neurologist and thanked for sending me for master check up.

SHAME ON THESE SHAMELESS FELLOWS, WHO ARE SUPPOSE TO FOLLOW A NOBLE AND DIGNIFIED PROFESSION.

Instead of treatment they have provided to my wife the propofol for the normal treatment. The doctors are only looting the money.

Worthless Hospital...Money making ppl
Dec 19, 2012 02:35 PM 9075 Views

My son was taken to the pediatric division to this hospital for vomiting and diarrhea (not severe). The doctor examined the child and asked us to admit him stating that he looks tired. He was not at all dehydrated and he passed stool only twice and vomiting only once. This could have been easily cured by the medicines. We do not want to take a chance and admitted him. At first he was kept in the pediatric ICU...wondering y he should be kept in the ICU for slight diarrhea and vomiting. After 3 hours he was shifted to the hospital building next to the main building.

I told the doctor to discharge him that day itself as I could sense that he is not in the bad shape. She agreed at last and got him discharged at 7 PM. THe hospital has charged 6000 rupees for 6 hours stay. The new hospital building is full of mosquitoes.

I had a horrible experience in this hospital and they made it very clear that money making is their top priority.

I noticed that 3 other kids aged within 5 years were admitted one after the other in the same hospital.   Grabbing money is their main aim. Please do not go this hospital. Service is very bad.

Worst Hospitality
Oct 25, 2012 02:23 PM 8807 Views

I took my 11 month old kid for vaccination and they made me wait for 1.5 years. The hospital nurse was very rude and they kept asking us to wait. The staff keep sending patients from one end to other when someone asks for some information. I saw a pregnant lady(who came alone) was asked to go here and there for information. No one answered her responsibly.

There are less experienced doctors. Child care is very important and there are many patients coming in but there is only one experienced child specialist.

From morning 10 to afternoon 2 the doctor has given appointment to 25 patients and there are 15 more patients without appointment. I don't understand why they are entertaining such things. How one doctor can check all patients. Before I lost my temper and left the hospital 3-4 other parents left owing never to visit this hospital again.

There were 2 doctors sitting in the same room and discussing things(when many kids outside were waiting for the check up). Many children were admitted with fever. The parents were suspecting it to be dengue. How can other kids wait in the same space? Shouldn't these patients be treated separately?

Very bad hospital.:( Never wish to go there again. My kid started crying and was choking due to it. Even then the nurse didnt care to take a look.

My kind request to all readers. Please DON'T GO to this hospital.

Worst hospitality. No patience to talk to patient. Immature nurses and bad Dieting system. Worst Canteen. Supplying unhygienic food to patient.

My mother, a sugar patient  admitted in the hospital for some reason, in a so called deluxe room in the Kamakshi hospital, she has been served with a cold coffee in a small paper cup with no cover. And a sour curd rice again ice cold. Evening tea and dinner in the same way. Forgot to mention, the food served in a flimsy plastic box and the with 3 compartment, so that side dish will ooze out and become messy to eat.

Me and my mom shouted at the dietitian and the canteen in-charge, and we have been told that they talk to the management and they told them to wait and adjust for few more days. I couldn't understand, is it a long stay hotel we are going to stay and should adjust with them. Or else are they waiting for the Christmas to come and implement the systems.

And then nurses, they are very fresh graduates, don't know how to put IV, two times, they did wrongly and the blood started to come. If they ask anything they don't know to talk politely. Even a duty doctor is fresh graduate and not talking politely to the patient.

If you want hot water for the patient, walk 1/2 km cross the construction site and get from the canteen. No hot water dispenser in the new building. Your TV will not work in the new building, your food will come late and with no cover and ice cold passing the construction site. And it is so called hygienic food. The management is waiting for the Santa Claus to come on Christmas eve to set everything in the new building.

Please take money from us, and do a good service to us. Not to trouble us with your cheap food and attitude. Employ talented nurse and people to do service.

Horrible experience with Kamakshi memorial hosptl
Aug 16, 2011 04:50 PM 15865 Views

Worst hospital in terms of  service , and the best hospital in terms of looting the patients. I had a horrible experience yesterday when one of my friend was admitted  here after bike accident. His fingers on his left leg was badly  injured. Initially one of the doctors suggested amputation for the finger and we  were shocked to hear that. Later his senior came and adviced us that  they will do a surgery and fix my friends legs. They prescribed all available tests which includes a CT Scan ( full body  ) Xrays for head, chest legs and everywhere. They kept on saying that the surgery will happen in the evening, and  then they made us agree to put our friend in ICU ( for a toe finger  injury ).

What an irony? We were ok for all these till we found in the evening that the surgery  wont happen on the same day but the next day. The only thing they did  till then was applying some hydrogen peroxide and betadine oinment on  the wound and dressed it with cotton. We all had a discussion and at the end of it, we decided that we save  our friend from this horrible hospital. We asked for a discharge and  alas, the bill amount is 19, 753 Rupees.

We almost cried. The  bill had details about inspection by 4 doctors ( whop for a toe finger  injury ) in ICU which were not aware at all. We settled the bill, and  took him to pondichery JIPMER and surgery is completed by morning  itself.  Conclusion Kamakshi hospital S UCKS!

"Check it! Before it checkmates" - The caption which attracted me when I entered Master Health Checkup in Kamakshi Memorial Hospital. "Being Well is the Best Jewel" was my wife's favourite.

When I decided to do a complete body check up, my family and friends suggested to choose Apollo, but I chose Dr. Kamakshi Memorial Hospital. You know 99% people go behind brands, but I was wise in my choice.

Truly speaking, I had a great experience in the Master Health Checkup Department. It was a separate building inside the hospital premises which is actually a good initiative since we need not queue up along with the ill patients. All tests under one roof, excellent infrastructure and good ambiance. I was escorted by a nurse for each and every test, which made me feel at ease. What more, the entire staff were extremely courteous and made the whole experience a great one.

Having had such a wonderful service in the hospital, I brought my father-in-law and mother-in-law for complete checkup. I will certainly refer all my friends and relatives. And I am writing this to all of you out there. Be wise with your choice.

From the moment I was wheeled into Dr.Kamakshi Hospital, I was escorted by the PR Team, the care and concern for the patient and their welfare was of the highest order. Nothing was too much trouble, the whole team were unfailingly polite, helpful and very efficient. I was particularly struck by the level of cleanliness.

I received excellent patient care throughout an anxious time. The staff was extremely polite, helpful and courteous and looked after me very well. I would like to express my appreciation for every aspect of the way I was treated in your hospital.

The procedure went on well, it was explained in detail beforehand and I was able to talk it through and ask any questions. I was reassured about what needed to be done and supported throughout and afterwards with great kindness. The doctor explained his findings thoroughly. I could not have been treated any better.

The doctor showed passionate care, deep understanding, REAL professionalism, went further to wipe out possible causes. Plus the other attributes that reassured us. The doctor was open and direct.

I would like to thank the theater staff of Dr.Kamakshi Hospital and the ortho surgeon Dr.Manikandan for being very helpful when I had my operation. They made my time in hospital interesting and everybody was friendly."

Doctors and nurses are seen as compassionate, competent, open and honest, patient, to have excellent bedside manners, integrity and be willing to answer questions.

I was impressed by the personal attention & professionalism of all the staff including matron and the management who dealt with me.

The staffs were so kind and the ward exceptionally clean, I cannot praise them enough for taking care of me so well. I would like to register the fact that the care I had at Dr.Kamakshi Hospital  went a long way to making the whole experience a positive one for me and I would like if possible to pass on my thanks to everyone who was on the ward during my stay and say thank you so much.

"THANK YOU WHOLE HEATEDLY for GIVING US SUCH HEALING service and TO THE TEAM."

Came to kamakshi hospital with severe abdomen pain. Dr. Rajkumar Rathinasamy treated me professionally. Unlike other doctors he was patient enough to explain me about the course of treatment.

This made me feel comfortable and confident. The supporting staff were extremely polite and praise worthy. We are proud to have such a hospital in and around one locality.

I work for TCS for a long time now. I was really shocked and worried to accidentally read through some very very inappropriate reviews in here and wanted to share one of my own recent and extremely good experience with Dr.Kamakshi Memorial Hospital.

I was referred by my colleagues in office and self performed a master health checkup in Dr.Kamakshi Memorial Hospital since I was bothered long time by a disturbing and acute but a random pain around my stomach. I met Dr.Carolin in MHC unit, who I found very knowledgeable and extremely caring. Thanks to god, she helped me diagonize a real big and an odd sized single gall bladder stone causing the problem.

Then I was referred to Dr.Kumarakrishnan, a surgical gastroenterologist. He is a very sound and surgically experienced consultant. He explains you complex things in simple terms. I was very much satisfied with him, So I did get admitted the following week for surgery and got  laproscopically the gall bladder removed in 45 minutes and discharged in just 2 days from the date of admission. It was like I didn't realize that I underwent a surgery at all, which just happened in a unbelievable speed and I'm all free from my long time bothering pain now. I'm now referring all my family members to this centre and they all feel satisfied as well.

I take this blogging chance to thank all the doctors and nurses of DR.KMH who took care of me and recommend the health care seekers to make use of this hospital services.
