Dmart- worth your money!
May 27, 2015 10:11 AM 21130 Views

When DMART was newly opened in Thane, the first thought was Dmart being a supermarket would be pricing their products at higher rates. But the experience was completely different. During the initial period DMART offered 9% discount on each of its product and thus the price was much lower than what we payed at retail stores.

It has been almost 2 years the Kolshet Road Dmart has opened and the variety of products on display is always increasing. Dmart offers products right from grocery, apparels, stationery, home and products etc. under one roof. The staff here is also very cooperative. Although the discount rates have now been lowered to 6% but still a visit to Dmart will be worth your single penny.

D-Mart @ Kalyan

Finally after Big bazaar in metro mall. People now staying around kalyan khadakpada godrej hills can do their monthly weekly daily shopping at D-Mart which is newly opened in Kalyan. It's a 3 floor shopping mart with fully loaded stuff that too cheaper then Big bazaar (diff of 13 to 15 rs) From the outside you would say it’s a small place to setup such a big Mall, but in reality it has covered huge areas from the inside same has the one in Powai.

Staffing is quite less here especially at the payment counter, because of which people have to wait in line for long. Go during Non peak hours and you can shop in peace.

Discount mart would explain the name better!!

The closest supermarket to my place is D mart, both the Electronic City and Bommasandra outlets are quite convenient to visit. Since the parking is an issue in Electronic City outlet, I prefer to visit the Bommasandra one weekly.

If you call me a big fan of D-mart, you may not be exaggerating. Since shopping in weekend is absolutely a wrong decision here, I have found a very convenient way. This outlet opens at 10 am, I enter at the very moment it is opened. I never dare to park the car inside, I prefer the road.By the time the shopping gets over, coming out of that narrow parking lot is quite a challenge for expert drivers also!

I never found this outlet empty.Leave alone the weekends, sometimes I cross this around 9 at night and surprisingly find it buzzing with activities. The reason? Discount! At least 9% discount will be there on almost every item. The items are fresh, never found any outdated stock, things unavailable at other places are easily available here, convenient and fast billing, good customer care and above all, easy return or exchange policy if anything goes wrong.are the mantra of success here.

The products range from grocery to home furnishing, clothes and accessories to stationary, Toys, books, housekeeping materials- everything is available here. People come here mainly for the huge discount, who else is selling Everyday milk powder at 385 instead of 425? The weighing for loose grocery items is also convenient and hassle free, the quality of product is also good most of the time. In some rare cases, one or two products came damaged. But we were able to return it without any issue and got refund.

The major drawback of this store is, it's not very specious. On weekdays any major accident can occur the way people shop here, with the trolleys. I have seen many times, small kids damaging food items, chocolates placed on the rack, parents are not observing at all! One day I bought some frozen tikkis and found it completely damaged, as if somebody stamped on it! Sales people should take care of this, some people just don't buy anything and damage products.

Tips for shopping here:

  1. Park your car outside, or in a safe place, where no big delivery truck is standing.

  2. If possible, visit on weekdays or after 8 pm, you will find it less crowded.

  3. Carry enough cash, you never know when the cards will stop working.

  4. Check the price tag for mentioned discount to avoid embarrassing situation at the billing counter.

  5. Check products for any visible damage, keep the bill safe, in case you need to return later.

  6. If shopping on weekend, take care of your trolley and move cautiously, anytime you can be knocked down by a trolley of some busy shopper!

Overall experience is good, if you can choose a good product then you will get best discount here. Not recommended for fancy shopping, this place is best for groceries and housekeeping stuff.

D(Free) Mart

This is a boon to customers like us. The packages they have and the freebies. Its our indian mentality to get pulled towards freebies. I really like the way they have brought balance in the consumer - retailer equation. Its like a one stop solution. Right from groceries to clothes to shoes to travel bags. It has almost everything under one roof.

Dont ever visit DMart during the start of the month. All salaries couples throng DMart like there's no tomorrow. I have personally seen local retailers buying cold drinks from Dmart. The quality and the price for which they sell clothes is also super. And not to forget their promotional strategy of 1 pe 1 free for new products in the market.

Good shopping mall

My experience with dmart has been very good and I'm very happy with the service. I have a friend staying in borivali and we often go together for shopping groceries from dmart in borivali.

The dmart is very big and has parking space available. Its not as big compared to big bazaar but has all the products you would need.

The place is good and has ample staff to help you out with directions. You can find most used items in the kitchen all together to shorten yourbshopping time.

Plus I enjoy talking with my friend and doing my house chores. The place is never crowded which is another plus. The checkout is also very fast.

The prices are also good and help you in saving some money. Plus it has McDonald's besides it to have snacks after shopping.

I would recommend dmart as it has good experience and saves you money.

I really like to go Dmart everytime in Pune, because I had a very good experience visiting this shopping complex. There is a lot to do shopping here with lots of clothes and stationery things to buy. They provide lots of discounts and offers to the customer such that it makes the customer like us to buy many things from here.

It contains different categories to do shopping inside it.And maintained very nicely. Its a clean and good shopping spot for everyone.

Everything at one place - DMART
Mar 28, 2015 08:54 PM 28907 Views (via Mobile)

"Dmart" now-a-days becoming popular store as you get all your goodies at one place starting from kitchen household to clothing everything at one place.I wanted to share my personal experience at dmart.

There are multiple reasons I prefer to shop at dmart store.at place dmart store is very big almost 3 store building and beautifully divided into regions floorwise. At ground they have all grocery items you can find everything here at one place.

Second floor it has all the household items like utensils, mattress and one side section contains all the kids section their clothing, games, study material everything.

The top floor has clothing section of men and women separately with trial rooms and you can find around 10 trial rooms which makes us more comfortable in purchasing clothes, shoes and other accessories.

Best part is that theu always have some offers and discounts on real product mrp as compared to the retail stores.products are fresh enough to use at a very reasonable rates.

They have multiple counters for billing system that also well organized.a systematic way of exchanging product and refunding all adds to the plus point to shop from dmart.

I would recommend that instead of local stores you should try dmart for shopping once.

Appalling Service!
Sep 08, 2014 03:19 PM 30755 Views

Shocking service and appalling standards of customer service.

Upon entering Dmart on Baner road you are treated like a criminal by the security staff and management.

I am being forced to seal my handbag and if it is not able to be sealed they insist on putting it in a dirty bag of their own and seal it. My bag didn't fit into their useless canvas bag so they insisted to squeeze and push my bag inside. Why should I damage my Louis Vuitton bag? Or even if it was a cheaper handbag, should I stand there and be humiliated like a criminal while they squeeze and trample my personal belongings?

This is not my first time in a supermarket. I have lived in Europe, USA and Middle East. Every country does not allow shoppers to carry any other shopping bags or large bags inside(unless they are carrying empty bags to put their purchasing inside). All Supermarkets have sensors on the exit to deter shoplifters.

Please do not give me an excuse that this is done for security. There is thorough checking of bag and person upon entering so if I do have a bomb you will come to know.

Its sickening that I go to this horrible sub-par supermarket just because it is the only thing close to where I live and get treated like a criminal because you cannot put the necessary infrastructure - cameras, sensors to deter shoplifters.

And even after being humiliated if you do go inside to shop even after paying and exiting, they insist on checking your bags and bills again. Is this normal or insane behaviour which has just become ingrained into the mindset of your management? Why is it not enough that every item when already gone through the checkout counter has been paid for? Where is common sense?

There is a large expat population in the area and I have seen how disgusted they feel upon entering this establishment. What an impression of our country.

Until when will this continue?

D-MART AC Compressor causing sound pollution
Oct 08, 2013 12:08 PM 22513 Views

I am resident of Thergaon, Kalewadi, Pimpri, Pune. Our society is just behind the DMART which on Kalewadi, Thergoan main road, Pimpri, Pune.

There is lot of sound pollution caused due to AC compressor which is placed behind this DMART, the compressor is on 24/7 and at night we are hardly able to sleep. We had given a written complaint to DMART a month back about this issue but no action has been taken about it.

I request DMART authority to take appropriate action on this. Else we will need to lodge an official complaint on behalf of our society.

Pune India
Fantastic Customer Service
Jun 07, 2013 04:59 PM 24651 Views

This review is for the customer service of Dmart @ Aundh, Pune. I am a regular customer and fan of Dmart, who experienced fantastic behavior and concern from your staff at Aundh Dmart, Pune.

I had purchased 3 packs of Laxminarayan Chiwda on Friday 31st May. Due to some reason, I had to return the same. I went to Aundh Dmart on 3rd June at 9.45 pm . The security guided me towards the customer service desk , which is a window outside the actual store premises. The window was closed. Next to the window was a board, showing the return policy. It clearly mentioned the return timings as 11am to 9 pm. Alas, I thought. I will have to come again tomorrow.

Then thought to atleast talk to the manager.

What I imagined

I pictured a conversation in my mind about what would happen inside. I will have to first convince the security to take 3 packets of Chiwda from the Exit door, than will have to convince a lot to the manager, how I , by mistake took the wrong stuff , and than would have to again request replacement of chiwda with any other item/s of same value and than would again have to request to consider it on the same day.

What actually happened

1.Talked to Security at Exit gate. Showed him the packets and the purpose. He allowed. That came as a surprise. The guy talked normally(!) and  actually understood what was my concern, and instead of flaunting his authority, checked the bill, my packets and let me in.

2.Met the manager or in-charge, I am not aware of the designation. His name is Mr. Santosh. Explained that I have to return this stuff. I started with my detailed explanation, but actually it was not necessary. He saw the bill, circled my items and thats it. He called an assistant Mr Amol and things started rolling. I was expecting 'Nahi sir, kal aaiye' or 'Sir aaj staff kam hai' or any other rule been referred.

Mr Amol offered me a chair, took my name and contact number behind the bill and returned in 5-7 minutes with cash !!! . Really? I was indeed delighted.

This review is for Mr. Santosh, Mr. Amol and entire Dmart team for imbibing the customer service and delight.

Embarrassing experience
Jun 11, 2012 03:51 PM 30533 Views

Bad experience at D-Mart, Bommasandra.Too much crowd on week ends and poor management make it a hell for doing shopping.

I purchased a few items and stood behind the long queue waiting my turn.Suddenly I noticed CASH Only board.I rushed to the billing person and she said no cards in that counter.I booked my place in that queue and rushed to each and the other counter between the filled trolleys asking whether they take card. Unfortunately I had nothing but my card in my wallet that day. I heard a yes in a counter.I took my basket and stood behind that long queue of overflowing trolleys.Waiting waiting.I spend time disappointedly looking at many of the closed counters and the increasing length of the queues.

Finally, when my turn reached. I carefully kept my things on the billing desk... she started billing and when I gave her my card. She said cards are not taken since the machine is not working..!!!I asked her to change the machine. She just said sorry, none of the machines are working. I looked around..everybody was staring at me...I felt like it would be better if earth would split and pull me down!!!!

I felt so embarrassed...that I walked away telling her at the top of my voice that don't bill. ....Ihave no money with me. On the way, I met the supervisor kind of person.Told him how bad I felt..He just said sorry.......!!!

D-Mart - Cheaters not bothered about customers
Aug 22, 2009 12:38 AM 28590 Views

D-Mart Vadodara, I have visited earlier and had a good experience till now the good thing about it is its heavy discount.... BUT BUT... a extremely worst experience I have had today when I visited this MALL.

There was an offer displayed in the RACKS buy 1 get 1 free, I put in 10 bottles.... at the bill counter I am told that I can only buy 3 bottles ???? I asked the stores incharge ... Shri Uday Pathak as I was told, he showed me a banner put up on the wall saying quantity can be restricted..

I told him he should put the same there on the rack where they have displayed buy 1 get 1 free...?? he had no answer to it. I was very embarassed as a customer when they did this to me.... THEY HAVE LOST A CUTOMER FOR A LIFE-TIME.. now if they give me anything for free also.. I would not advocate for D-MART.... Please stay away... if you do not want to put yourself in a similar position.

D-Mart, Thane - Going from Good to worse
Jul 02, 2009 04:00 PM 31599 Views

D-Mart stores in Thane situated on Glady Alwares Road near Chestnut Plaza was one of a kind departmental stores which opened in Thane to cater to the people living nearby. It was initially a boon to customers including me with a one stop shopping experience where you could buy anything from daily groceries to clothes to cosmetics to vegetables/fruits and a lots more products including utensils, plastics etc. the staff was also good and courteous and the prices fit into everybodies pockets. As the days went by the popularity went tot he heads of the Stores managment and these days the service has become worst. I have listed below the pain points which I encounter everytime I go there.

1) The daily grocery items are unavailable most of the time. There is no information as to the availability of products. The shelves where the items are missing do no have any tags whether they are available or not.

2) Cramped shelves: The Shelves are more often cramped with different items. It is also found that the items are interchanged from their original space on the shelves which cause a lot of confusion.

3) Unequal availability: Some of the items are large in qty whereas others are lesser. There is an overflow in some cases. Typical egs are of sugar packets, Salt etc.

4) Rude Staff: The Staff are rarely available when required fro any assistance. And when they are available they reply curtly and arrogantly when asked for any help. The staff is prominently missing on Sat and Sun when there is a huge crowd.

5) On/Off functioning of AC: Rarely have I seen the AC functioning properly. On Sat & Sun in particular they are switched off to let people sweat under the asbestos roof.

6) Car Parking: The Car parking attendants often dont know where to direct the customers for car parking. The cars are parked haphazardly and often people end up waiting for other car owners to come before they can drive off. There is no announcement facility to help in this case. Adding to the parking woes are the Rickshaws who manage to occupy the slighest space available to choke the traffic movement.

There are some bright things to look also

1) There is an old charm/attraction which draws me everytime to this stores.

2) The clothes available in the stores are always changing and you can see some new designs

3) The cost is very competetive when compared to Big Bazaar, Reliance and other stores.

4) Convinient location.

I hope the stores management do something to resolve the pain points and ensure the customers have a true good shopping experience with the stores.
