Failed by care: Our daughter deserved better!
Jan 03, 2025 02:12 PM113 Views

We are devastated to share the unimaginable loss of our precious 5-year-old daughter due to what we believe was the negligence and irresponsibility of the doctors and staff at Continental Hospital. She was our world, our joy, and her life were tragically cut short because of a system we trusted with her care.

Our daughter was initially diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia on September 15th at another reputed hospital. Wanting the best for her, we sought a second opinion from Dr. S.K. Gupta at Continental Hospital. His kind and reassuring words gave us hope, and we decided to move forward with her treatment under his care.

Her journey of treatment began on September 21st, which included medications and blood transfusions. For months, she endured this process bravely, even smiling through the many visits to the HMT ward for her transfusions. Everything seemed under control until the tragic day of December 13th.

That day, we visited for a scheduled remaining half unit of platelet transfusion, using the SDP that had been reserved from our donor on 8th Dec. Just a few days prior, on December 8th, she had received a fresh SDP half unit(from the same donor) transfusion without any complications. Before the transfusion on December 13th, her test results, including CBC, CRP, Cyclosporine levels, and LFT, were completely normal — no red flags, nothing to indicate what was about to unfold.

Around 4:15 PM, the nurse administered a half-dose of Avil to prepare her for the transfusion. Moments after the procedure began I would say within 30 seconds, our little girl started vomiting. Alarmed, we immediately stopped the transfusion and called for help. Nurse came in and, gave her an Emset injection, and resumed the transfusion, even though she was still visibly unwell. When we asked sister “” why she is vomiting we have to stop the transfusion then she replied “Its human body we never know how its reacts." .What followed was nothing short of a nightmare.

For the next 45 minutes, she suffered—vomiting repeatedly and having severe motions—with no nurse or doctor in sight to tend to her. We were left helpless, watching her condition deteriorate before our eyes.

What began as a routine transfusion spiraled into an unimaginable tragedy. By December 15th, our daughter was gone. Our beautiful, strong, and innocent little girl endured immense pain in her final days—pain that could have been prevented if only the staff had been more vigilant, if only the care we entrusted them with had been delivered responsibly.

Our hearts are broken, and the void left by her loss is unbearable. We want answers, accountability, and justice for our little angel, who deserved so much more than what she received.

We entrusted our daughter's life to Continental Hospital, believing they would care for her with the utmost competence and compassion. Instead, our little angel was failed at every turn, and her life was cut short due to their negligence. We will never be able to fill the void she has left in our lives, but we hope no other family has to endure the heartbreak we now live with every single day.

Doctors and sisters the leader with'g'od complex, could not even explain how the reaction had happened with the same product which was transfused on 8th Dec without any complications and was not able to handle the situation after the reaction. Till today they do not have any clue how these reactions happened and we are still waiting for the answer.

Didn't Provide QR code for RTPCR test.
Dec 04, 2021 03:15 PM990 Views (via Mobile)

My whole family visits continental hospitals for various treatments since its inception. But I think their working style is getting deteriorated day by day. Today I had been there for RTPCR test for my sister. It was required for her international travel. There are 2 kinds of charges for this test. Rs 1200 test where you get your report after 24 hrs and Rs. 4000 test which provides the report within 4 hrs. We chose Rs. 4000 test. We insisted for QR code. Inspite of that, we received the report (within 2hrs) without a QR code. Even roadside clinics are providing RTPCR test reports with QR code now a days. But such a big hospital behaving in an unprofessional way is really shocking. I had to shout at the administration department to get the report with QR code. Very unhappy about the whole experience even after paying such a huge amount for the test. This is one example to show how careless they are. Disgusting experience.

Charges high
Aug 11, 2020 04:22 PM1880 Views

They look like high class corporate hospital. But their motto is only minting money. I checked for my relative regarding some ortho problem. They immediately suggested operation as the only solution. When I went for second opinion, the problem was cured with simple medication and excercise.

Another common thing by Continental is, they have all laboratory facility, For each and every problem, they suggest lots of tests and force patients to do the the tests internally. For any type of issue the recommendation of of MRI, CT tests are very common.

Great care by Nurse Nikita Wesley
Jan 28, 2020 05:11 PM2135 Views

Went to Continental for a dressing for my daughter who had a surgery recently. We had to change the dressing daily, and Nikita did a great job, always smiling, helpful and good at her job.

We are done with the treatment and felt it was worth appreciating people who go beyond and are exceptional in their work.

So thanks to Nikita, good experience with Continental.

Admit patient first :-(
Apr 21, 2019 01:37 PM4178 Views (via Mobile)

Please keep this in mind before you go to continental hospital. Every doctor will force you to admit the patient first. Not sure whether they have target or they want to earn money. I request please don't refer to this hospital. This hospital is completely commercial.

Master Health Checup Female
Aug 25, 2018 01:45 PM5719 Views (via Mobile)

I came for my wife's Master Health Check-up located at Fanancial District. it's a well maintained huge construction. But it lacks what a hospital requires:

  1. Poor Adminstration

  2. 2D Echo, TMT and ECG loacted side by side but there are only 3 seats to sit and a clumsy way of taking the files and calling for investigation. For all these staff are very less.

  3. Worst sign boards for navigation always you feel you are in a loop.

I think since hosiptal gives cooperate discounts many are opting. My sincere advise do not dare to go on weekends. Actually they use to tell Saturday it's crowded. My question such a big hospital can't able to manage 50-60 persons! Small diagnosis centers manges very well

Excellent job done by Dr Praveer Singh

Me and my family is registered patient at continental hospital. On 12th July 18.was admitted at emergency department due to High BP. There I met with doctor Praveer Singh, who immediately without any late checked my BP and did ECG without any late. He given some medicine and I was relaxed my BP came down. Fantastic response by Dr Praveen Singh. again I was admitted yesterday night 20th July with same problem. This time also Dr Praveer Singh taken care of my BP very well.we actually require this type of doctors who actually takes care of patients in proper way. which definitely creates faith and confidence for the hospital

Blessed to get treated in Continental Hospital
May 31, 2018 01:19 PM4096 Views (via Mobile)

When I visited Continental Hospital, I was having severe lower back pain. So we went to see Dr. Nitish Bahn who is an orthopedic and a very nice person to meet with. He suggested me to get immediate MRI done for my spine, but as there was lot of rush that day the receptionist informed me that there were no slots available at that moment but Dr. Nitish Bahn helped me get an emergency MRI done on that day itself and soon after receiving report I was detected with a severe slip disc.

Dr. Bahn referred me to Dr. Rajshekhar Reddy who is a spine specialist in Continental. Seeing the reports Dr. Reddy suggested an immediate surgery and suggested to get the pre-requisites done, but he didn't forced us to go through it he explained the whole scenario and left the decision on us. That was the 1st best part I noticed. After few days, when I and my family were convinced and decided to go through the surgery we went back again to Dr. Reddy but by then my condition got worse. He arranged a slot in OT the very next day and I got my surgery done successfully. That day when he came to visit me, he showed the blisters he got in his hand while operating me.this made me realize the efforts a doctor makes to save a single life. He not only just did the surgery but counselled me as well. The reason behind the slip disc was my overweighted body.and in life time I had never put enough efforts to get my body back in shape. But when I met Dr. Reddy he made me realise what I have done to myself.very politely, with all the care, and concern he told me how important it is for me to loose weight.and listening to his words and after seeing his blisters I realised how much efforts a doctor is making to save and make my life better.

Even Dr. Bahn also came to See Me after my surgery. The concern and the care doctors have give me is priceless.they seriously took great efforts not just to treat me for my pain but to take care of me until I became fit.

I am really thankful that I came to Continental Hospital to get my treatment done. Here paitents are treated like friends and not just a body. The doctors, nurses and the staff are so nice and treats or I should say take care so lovingly.

Every nurse that I met in this hospital was so well trained, soft spoken, they took care of me so well.

Even the OT staff and manager were so good and helpful. There action showed the concern they had for the patients.

Everything is so well organized in this hospital and the efforts that Continental staff and doctors does is unexplainable. They all are highly skilled and best in there duties.

With lots of gratitude and respect I want to thank each and every nurse, staff members, and Doctors.

Especially Dr. Rajshekhar Reddy thank you so much for just not treating me but every effort you did to transform my life. Thank you for being the motivation I lacked in my life till now.

Thanks would be small word to you sir, You are Life Saver and God to me, I was diagnosed severe L5-S1 Disc Protrusion/Nerve Root Compression. which made me crippled for more than 6 months, mostly restricted to bed, unable to stand and walk due to excruciating pain through my right leg. Just at the age of 30, I thought this is the End, thought my entire life would be a bed bound, I was depressed and lost hope. It was unbearable amount of pain. Dr Rajashekar Reddy is the best Neurosurgeon, He performed thousands of brain and spine surgeries. He is like a friend, guide and well wisher who really takes care of all the aspects of patient from a Doctor perspective. He explains the problem, root cause, does a great personal counselling and makes his patients very comfortable with his kindly approach. He spends great time to hear our concerns and addresses them all with out hesitation. He suggested me L5-S1 Micro discectomy surgery, explained all the possible outcomes of it. I was very much convinced with his sincerity, honesty towards profession and of course with his suggestions too. He loves his profession so much and delivers a great results with great attention to details. He performed my surgery for almost 2 hours. There was no pain as soon as I gain my conscious. After a day of post surgery, miraculously I was able to walk with out pain. All the Agonizing Pain I had to suffer for last 6 months vanished. KUDOS to Dr RajaShekarReddy. He performs Surgery with least invasive way, treating every individual personally as a different case, He does take of care every thing for not to have any post operative complexities. I suggest every one to follow his advice before you take any kind medical decision related to Neuro&Spine. Continental hospital has excellent infra, Staff is very helpful, facilities are beyond our expectations, Wait time is very short, you do not feel like you are in hospital-such a home feeling and comfortable stay, prices are very competitive and the last thing is food they provide. Excellent all 5 star rating to all. I can surely say back surgeries are safe and one can opt as per doctor advice with out any hesitation.

Good Doctors- Ridiculous Billing-Third World Staff
Jul 06, 2017 10:57 AM11990 Views

We have been to Continental Hospitals for Seven Months for my Mother's Chemotherapy. Doctors, Nurses are good but not the Admin Staff. I recently found and hard to understand their ridiculous ways of billing with no head or a tail. For Example: I found that for the past Nine times we went to Chemotherapy, we were billed different amounts for the "Single Day Chemotherapy Procedure Charges".

We were billed at times 7500, 8800, 11000 which I could not understand, when asked for explanation- The billing department said that the charges depend on- Believe Me this is exactly they said - " DEPENDS ON HOW YOU ARE PAYING MEANS- THROUGH INSURANCE OR SELF PAID(CASH) ALSO DEPENDS ON YOUR PHARMACY BILL." Confused- Yeah Me Too! The way I got to know this is we have used all our Insurance and so the difference in the billing.

They say with Insurance they cannot bill as much as they want but for cash paid you are in for a ride! also your Pharmacy bill meaning the medicines that they use for the procedure and also they prescribe and bought for you for your use at home will define the charges on the chemotherapy procedure. Again confused - YEAH Me TOO! when asked for how they calculate - they say that talk to our manager Gautham!

I have been under the impression their standards are international BUT seems their management is at par with "STANDARDS OF PAKISTAN"  I do want them to make money, provide service, but not by "STANDARDS OF PAKISTAN"

In regard to Consultation: You can get 20% discount if you are a resident of a Rich Neighborhood - Why this INEQUALITY? why a person from other parts of Hyderabad/State cannot get the discount. What has he done not to deserve? Promotion by "STANDARDS OF PAKISTAN"

You might not want to deal with the billing department as they have very poor knowledge in Being Courteous, Reasoning, Mathematics and "distinguished limited ability to speak reasonably".

I feel that there certainly are better Hospitals in Hyderabad that Continental!

"Standards of Pakistan" used only as a Reference and not with disrespect!

Worst services i ever received.
Jun 24, 2017 01:21 PM10491 Views (via Mobile)

Poor management, worst facility they provide.never ever approach this hospital.

Doctors are not available on time.staff will not inform you and they will keep you waiting for long.Get a proper management team.high cost.false promises.Record managementis damn poor even after taking all the information they will say your record was not properly updated.

Poor in addressing patient's concerns
Jun 09, 2017 05:23 PM10910 Views

Recently I visited Continental Hospital, which happened to be a Saturday. My Doc suggested me some tests. I went home for lunch and then called back the hospital for an appointment with Radiology dept, for my test. I was initially informed that it won't be possible to arrange for the test on the same day. After requesting, the lady on the other side said that she will talk to concerned person(i guess the person who will do the test) and then call me back. I waited for their call for 2hours. Then I again called back and spoke to the same lady. She said that the person came just now. She said she will call me back for sure in 15min, after talking to the concerned person. It's been 2 weeks now but I didn't get any call.

Moreover the fee is also more. Rs. 700/-+ Rs. 100/-(for the first time registration)

I am planning not to visit this Hospital again. Felt very bad for their careless attitude towards patient.

Excellent Neurosurgeon = Dr. K. Rajasekhar Reddy
Apr 13, 2017 11:15 AM17765 Views

My wife suffered from CSVT and admitted in Continental Hospital in emergency.  The doctors immediately responded and after CT and MRI they have advised Craniotomy.  Craniotomy was done by Dr. Rajasekhar Reddy who is an excellent and outstanding neurosurgeon with more than a decade's experience.  He is highly skilled and experienced.  My wife was in hospital for about 33 days.  All these days Dr. Rajasekhar Reddy visited and suggested medications.  Neurophysicians, Dr. M.K. Singh and Dr. Vikram Sharma also visited and taken a lot of care,  Nurses are very polite and experienced they have taken care of my wife like their family members.

Today, my wife survived because of Dr. Rajasekhar Reddy and she is recovering fast.  Cranioplasty was also done in the last week of March 2017.  We were discharged within a period of 3 days only and Dr. Rajasekhar Reddy has given all assurance that my wife will recover in a short period.  Physiotherapy is going on and my wife is now able to speak, walk and there is tremendous recovery.  All this happened because of Continental Hospital.

Dr. Rajasekhar Reddy very amicable and polite and he treats all patients with great respect and give them confidence like a family member.

I have no hesitation in suggesting Continental Hospital for their excellent and world-class neurology facilities and neurosurgeons/ neurophysicians.
