Services not upto mark. Hospitality not good.

Attendants in flight are not well trained according to my point of view. I had travelled 2 times and I do not find it convinient and worthless comparing to price.

Very costly tickets in comparison to other flight prices. Seating spaces is average and could be a bit better. I do not recommend at all.

Rude Stewardess
May 31, 2012 07:54 PM8031 Views

I took flight CO83 last summer and my experience was the bad. The Stewardess was so rude. My son has food allergies so I have to carry his food with me for the flight. Since it is a long flight it carry the food semi frozen so it does not go bad. When the dinner time came, I went to head stewardess and asked nicely if she could warm the food. (I have done that in past and normally they are nice enough to warm the food). She plainly refused that she can not do it. And I have to feed him the gluten free meal (which had milk, eggs and nuts in it - my son is allergic to all that). I was in tears because my son was hungry and I could not give ice cold food. Since she was head stewardess - none other steward dared to go against her. You would not believe how miserable I was for those 15 hours.

Once I reached Delhi, I heated up the food and fed my son.

My review of Mindset of staff & not their service
May 26, 2012 07:09 PM8284 Views

I have traveled by Air India, Lufthansa, Jet and even Aero Float more than a couple of times by each so I have fair experience with different airlines and don't travel'expecting much'. I also have experience of how staff behaves with passengers, esp in economy class.

We traveled continental flight CO82 Newark-DEL Non Stop and I would mention three incidents to givea fair idea of the mindset of their staff

  1. At baggage counter Newark Airport: I had pushed my luggage(3 of them) through a long corridor. Right when I reached the area near baggage counter a guy jumps right in front of me and starts heckling me whether this is all my baggage and where is my carry on baggage. I was huffing and said give me a break, I can make another trip to bring my carry on baggage after checking in these at the counter and whatever it meant to him, the guy took an offence(best reason I could think is'for not giving his questions enough reverence'). Next he was threatening me with these words'I can promise you won't be able to get into the aircraft until I tag your baggage' and I was wondering wow he has already taken it to that level. Thankfully when I later came back with carry on bags someone else was at duty.

  2. At the boarding time: They announce that boarding has started and passengers can come to counter and suddenly when people are standing in a in-orderly queue they realize the right way is to call passengers by seats(those with seats towards the rear first). What happens next is chaos and people pushing their way to the front of queue with their luggage. That is not all, the passengers who have to push their way up the queue are given'oh what an uncivil bunch of passengers' by the staff. Wow here we have people who have to push through a queue because of your inefficiency and also get your ugly looks.

  3. Inside the aircraft.

a) 3 rows in front of me, a passenger complained to stewardess that his seat won't recline. He was cockily told'I am not a mechanic'. On a 14 hr non stop flight the poor guy must have thought he deserves something better, at least a sympathetic attitude.

b) 1 row left in front of me, water drops would drip on the lady sitting under(from air conditioning vent). Stewardess came and wiped the vent once with a tissue paper, the drops would still fell intermittently, no one came to ask the lady if she was okay or to check if'we can offer you another seat or upgrade'

c) The Stewardess serving on our aisle had this stupid habit of paraphrasing what ever you say. If I would say'I need water' she would say'You need a glass of water'. I am pretty sure it was done to manifest their racial mindset because most of the passengers were Indians. It was their mean way to reinforce that your accent is not only funny but too bad to be(mis)understood.

d) 3 hours into the flight and the aircraft had become a self service free house. Flight Staff has huddled together, sitting and gossiping at the rear. Tea, coffee and water was placed at the rear and'feel free to help yourself with whatever you want'. Seemed like in flight services had officially closed and self service was in order

To be honest, at one level it occurred to me that this attitude and mindset was so because it was an India destination flight and most if not all the passengers were Indians. So I am talking of a specific flight CO 82, it was a Boeing 777. Seats, space and food was more or less the same as in other trans Atlantic flights.

Though to be fair, all the four incidents mentioned above were not faced by Indians.

Great Experience
Feb 03, 2012 05:35 PM11250 Views

For the last 12 years, I have been flying between NY/NJ and Mumbai at least every alternative year and I flew the EWR-BOM-EWR nonstop route for the first time in Sept 2010. It was my best international journey so far and I recommend Continental to everyone on this route.

I reached the Newark airport 3 hours before departure - my checking went fine and I was even given the seat of my choice. Boarding was very systematic and the crew were very courteous and polite. Seat space and leg room were much better than a lot of other international carriers flying to India.

The Indian style dinner served was delicious and the snack pack provided was a decent meal in itself. Meal served before landing was very good too. AVOD was awesome. Continental changes for alcohol served on this route and that was not much of a problem for all passengers. Both in and outbound flights reached destinations at least 30 minutes early.

Overall, this is one of my best international flying experiences so far and I will fly this route with Continental once again. I fully recommend Continental to anyone flying the EWR-BOM-EWR route.

This is the airline with the most untrained and rude staff I know(and please do not get me wrong, I have flown government owned socialist country airlines where staff has no clue about customer service). Yet, when it comes to bad service, Continental beats them all.

Continental staff at the Phoenix Sky Harbour baggage check-in counter is always rude(I have seen this with me and even with my friends when I went to drop them off). After I got my bag checked in, I went to the gate and waited for the boarding to start. My seat was towards front of the aircraft, and I was carrying one piece of hand luggage(which could comfortably fit in the overhead compartment). They started boarding from the rear, and by the time my row number was allowed to board, the flight attendant told me that there was no room for my hand luggage, and I had to check it in. I told her that I was on my way to an international destination with more than 24 hours of travel time, and further that I had my laptop, medications, and reading material in the hand luggage, hence I did not want to check it in. The flight attendant then rudely told me, "Then you have to take a different flight". I just could not believe what I heard.

When I started telling the flight attendant that it is not an acceptable answer since I will miss all my connecting international flights, she started telling the pilot that I should not be allowed on the flight. I just could not believe that I was being punished for bringing a piece of hand luggage, which I was perfectly allowed as per Continental's policy. Finally, the pilot realized that I was on the right side, and then asked the flight attendant to coomodate my hand luggage, which she did in the overhead compartment.

I do not think I will ever choose this airline again.

We flew from EWR to Bom In november and experienced worse nightmare possible. Staff was very rude and would not show up if you need help. My wife was having some health issues and all we asked for water and they were giving us bad look about it. We served only one meal and one time was just some snacks.it was long flight of 18hrs and one meal is not sufficient for it. They attending staff show no care in entire flight. Please stay away.Jet airways is way better for price

Updated Continental Business Class - DEL-EWR
Nov 05, 2010 03:58 PM9937 Views

Recently (Nov 1 2010) flew Continental's 15hour nonstop from Delhi to Newark in their updated business class with the 180 lay-flat seats. I had much trepidation given the other reviews on this site on Continental's service. Personally, I had a much different experience. The new 180 lay-flat seats are outstanding - much more room than the Pods in Air Canada's or Air New Zealands 777's. I felt that the flight attendants were actually quite nice, respectful, and attentive. The food was above average, although I was abit too tired to really appreciate it. Our flight left exactly on time, and arrived early (although this is perhaps by chance).

I would definitely recommend the flight - pretty soon, all of Continental's 777's and 747's will have the converted business class seats. The only downside for the seating configuration is that for the bank of 2 seats along the window, the person on the window has to climb over the person in the aisle (more disruptive for the latter) to get to the washroom.

I was travelling alone and therefore chose a seat in the middle bank of 2 seats, so that I would have easy access to the aisle throughout and would not either bother or be bothere by the person next to me (nothing worse than catching some precious sleep and being awoken by your neighbour because he/she needs to get up and to the aisle).

Used to be a fan of Continental, now its terrible
May 24, 2010 10:40 PM9470 Views

Continental were once my airline of choice until I flew the Newark New Delhi route. I was shocked at the indifference and in-hospitality of the crew. I have flow internationally for the last 29 yrs and even the mediocre Air Tanzania service did not compare with the Continental staff. I found the inflight crew to be unpolished and indifferent. The legroom was crammed unlike those of other carriers such as  South African, British Airways, KLM, Lufthansa and now the new Indian entities such as Jet and Air India.

While waiting to disembark at the landing gate a fight staff member complained to another passenger about the bureaucracy and inefficiencies in developing countries?- do Continental not train their staff on the concepts of emotional intelligence? She was representing Continental, and should have waited for a better time and place to "share" her opinion as 90% of the passengers were not American and would find her comments offensive!

I strongly prefer BA & Emirates, and think Continental needs to hire a foreign staff for the international routes.

Do not fly Continental to India
Apr 10, 2010 06:07 AM10164 Views

I miss the Delta nonstop!!  I flew Continental from Newark to Bombay on February 28, 2010.  What  a disaster!  My company spent $8000.00 (yes, you read correctly) for a business class seat.  It was the worst $8K spent.  The seats are terrible. They are not flatbeds (I admit, I got spoiled on Delta). I got on the flight and put my baggage in the overhead.  Within two minutes, this old attendant said something to me. She asked if I was finished putting my bag in the overhead. I didn't understand what she was asking. She told me I needed to shut it.  I motioned to her that it was OK if she shut it.  She berated me and complained that if she has tO shut each overhead, she would get injured.

I woke up while most folks were still sleeping and rang the button for a cup of coffee.  Ten minutes later, no one came. I got up and saw the attendants laughing and eating. I was appalled. They apologized profusely but it was unacceptable.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS AIRLINE FOR LONG FLIGHTS.

I Get Goosebumps When I Think of Continental
Mar 06, 2010 08:48 PM8685 Views

This is the worst airline to take to fly to India. I get goosebumps just thinking' about how my 6 month old daughter will manage. They don't give a bassinet (carrycot) as promised to put the baby, there is no space and the worst kind of flight attendants. They simply don't care. Oh! The food. They give you cold food, when you are shivering inside.

I called them several times, but no answer. And, when they answer, they say, sorry. We simply can't care about your daughter. How shall i manage? I need a bassinet. I was told by their agent, i will get a bassinet. Why can't you give me a bassinet. I will pay more. And, they say, sorry. These american flight attendants are not caring like Indian or foreign flight attendants.

Try emirates or ba. You will be much happier.

My first time experience with Continental is the worst and horrible experience. My Flight was from Newark-to Mumbai.I travelled with my baby , never knowing that they dont care if you are a single lady with a baby who might look out for some assistance.

They gave seat somewhere in middle and never helped me during my meal sessions. It was a torture to eat with a baby in lap and the eating tray bent down. When I finished my meal after lot of struggle and kept the plate down so as to lift the tray up, the airhostess got angry that I an not Keeping the Tray in Place!!! Can you ever imagine such behaviour in any of our desi Indian Airlines.I will never recommend it to anyone.Never take it to India.

A Tale of Two Reviews
Aug 14, 2008 01:01 PM13556 Views

For the most part, this review addresses Continental's NonStop service in economy

a) Newark(EWR) - Delhi(DEL); traveled in 2006.

b) EWR - Mumbai(BOM) round trip; traveled three months ago.

*The Mostly Conventional

*PLUS

1) Price - The fare was just under$1000 for EWR-DEL-EWR, certainly the cheapest at that time due to the flight being newly introduced. And roughly$1150 for EWR-BOM-EWR, with Air India's one-stop EWR-CDG-BOM flight being just a little cheaper. Both tickets were directly booked at Continental's web-site. Doing a little more research for the future; I found that Air India & Delta NonStops from JFK were also roughly the same price as Continental, and Jet Airways one-stop(EWR-Brussels-BOM) was roughly$350 more expensive(for non-peak, Christmas-New Year all airlines were roughly$2000).

2) Schedule - Flights leave EWR around 8 - 9 pm, and reach India the next night around 9 pm. Hence one can reach home at a reasonable hour and travel or go to work the next day. Flights leave DEL/BOM around 10 - 11 pm and reach EWR around 6 am, one can usually go to work the same day. Jet lag effects were lesser than the normal one-Europe-stop flights, and flying times were lesser as well(appx. 13-14 hrs USA-India, and appx. 14-15 hrs. India-USA.). Also, in my case EWR being a home airport is much more convenient than JFK.

3) Punctuality - All 4 flights were on time

4) Aircraft - Fairly new Boeing 777's.

*COMPETITIVE

1) Baggage Limits - 2 free checked-in bags of 50 lbs each.

2) Baggage Handling - Checked in bags were never lost and always arrived promptly at all 3 airports.

3) IFE - All 4 flights had individual TV monitors, and BOM-EWR had AVOD. Headphones were free, and the system was reliable.

4) Seating - Standard economy partially reclining, with each seat getting its own pillow & blanket.

5) Food - Indian Vegetarian a default option in economy on EWR-BOM-EWR, and I do not remember EWR-DEL-EWR. For my part I would say that food quality is inversely proportional to distance above land, not as good as can be found on land and certainly better than what is served in space to astronauts. I personally think that most airline food is indistinguishable from one another(most of them use the same caterer at the same airport.)

ADEQUATE

(but could use improvement)

1) Check-In Counter - Counter at DEL a little chaotic and constrained(Due to a delayed BOM-DEL flight, I arrived with only about 1.5-2 hr prior to departure). They allowed me to check-in at the Biz Class counter upon producing a Frequent Flier Card(just basic & not elite). Checkin at BOM and EWR was fairly smooth, however I reached the counter at least 3 hrs prior to departure. Since all 4 flights were full, one can safely assume that coming early helps a lot.

2) On-Board Service - On customer satisfaction, US Airlines were recently ranked on par with the Internal Revenue Service(US Income Tax Dept.), with Southwest & Continental being the top two. There were many reasons for this low ranking, and on-board service was one of them. On these two flights, I found the flight attendants to be reasonably professional.

The Slightly Un-Conventional

I started reading on-line blogs a long time ago, before there were such things as graphical internet browsers; and a newsgroup soc.culture.India had the 2nd highest amount of traffic. When discussing say "Are Women ill treated in India"; one participant would say "My one aunt in India was really badly treated and hence I think women are ill-treated in India". As a  rebuttal, another would say "I have three aunts in India and none were ever ill treated". The only thing one could conclude from such an exchange is that readers of that blog were being ill treated.

I looked over my own conventional review and found some of my reasoning was along the one-aunt/three-aunt style, particularly in punctuality, aircraft age & seating. I have deduced that Continental(on the EWR - India leg) was punctual on the basis of 4 flights in the last 2+ years. Someone else using 4 other data points could conclude the exact opposite. So I went looking for and found sites that measured flight performance, and found a https://flightstats.com(a private site) and https://transtat.bts.gov(a US Govt. site). I present a brief summary:-

a) CO EWR-BOM 45% OnTime with 55 Min/227 Min avg/max delay.

b) CO BOM-EWR 69% OnTime with 127 Min/931 Min avg/max delay.

c) CO all flights 75% OnTime

d) Air India JFK-BOM 72% OnTime with 25 Min/70 Min avg/max delay

e) Air India BOM-JFK 83% OnTime with 27 Min/88 Min avg/max delay

f) Air India all flights 65% OnTime.

g) Jet Airways all flights 52% OnTime

h) Kingfisher all flights 59% OnTime

Also, I found that the on time performance of the New York TRACON airports(JFK, LGA, EWR) was amongst the worst in the USA.

This data can be debated on many points such as reliability(do not really know for Intl, but US domestic should be reliable.), sampling interval(just the past 1 - 2 months.), effect of airports and weather and congestion etc. One thing is certain, I cannot place punctuality as a PLUS for Continental's EWR-India NonStops; I shall downgrade it to ADEQUATE.

"Fairly New" Boeing 777's was how I had characterized Continentals fleet; but https://fleetstats.net estimates the avg. age of CO's 777's to be 8.1 yrs. Now it could be that those allocated to the India leg may be newer; but on the whole I shall downgrade Aircraft to COMPETITIVE. Research from https://seatguru.com also shows that seating on CO's 777's should also be downgraded to ADEQUATE.

Is there anything that can actually be improved after some research? Paradoxically it may be On-Board Service. A U.S. Dept. of labor site states clearly - "Although the primary job of the flight attendants is to ensure that security and safety regulations are followed, attendants also try to make flights comfortable and enjoyable for passengers.". Other sites are more emphatic about safety being a flight attendants overriding responsibility and in-flight food & beverage servicing as secondary. The issue still remains that I do not know how to measure a flight attendant's capability in ensuring safety. Certainly they ran through the security demos quite competently, and stopped serving food & beverages during sustained turbulence; but I believe that all passengers will benefit from a un-biased analysis. Meanwhile I will upgrade on-Board service to COMPETITIVE, at least with respect to other US airlines.

Overall, I suppose I would recommend this airline on the NonStop EWR-India sector.

I flew economy from Kansas City to New Jersey.    Spend a few days in NY and then flew to Buffalo.   Buffalo back to Kansas City.   Never one problem. Period.   Airline was on time and once early.  The seating was fair.  Nothing great.  But I flew economy remember?

The food, err what food.  But I flew economy, remember.   But if you want a Airline to get you from point A to point B at the times they say they will,  well this is the airline.   It was also the cheapest in my searches on the internet, which by the way is why I chose Continental.   But hearing horror storeis about American Airlines,  I would gladly have paid a few extra to use Continental.   Flight attendants were ok, just doing their jobs.  I sat in an exit seat so I had a bit more leg room which was nice.    Why do they have a minimum of 150 words on this site?

One more thing.   We flew non stop on the Express flight.  Totally full.  From KC to New Jersey and back.  I heard that Continental is going to stop this non stop flight.  WHY?  It was completely full.  Why stop this?  It goes out several times a day.   Please reconsider!

Never send Unaccompanied Kids on Continental
Aug 04, 2008 01:02 PM6645 Views

Beware of sending unaccompanied minor children on Continental.  Our bad experience last week, we sent off our nephews from Mumbai to Austin via Newark.  When we reached the airport there were no CO staff.

After a long time one Yatin appeared, he was arrogant and insisted the kids fill out a USA security form by themselves, outside in the rain. He also made us fill up the UNM form which CO should have pre filled, but he would not give us a copy to acknowledge that he had taken over custody of the kids. When we protested he made another CO staff take over the kids and he disappeared.

This new man Clayton seemed better, but our nephews told us later that he was equally bad.  He took them inside and left them on their own at the Xray machine. The security told them to open the bags and explain what was inside but these kids did not understand Hindi and no one from CO helped them in any manner whatsoever.

Clayton then made them fill the India embarkation form, and after checking in they were made to stand on the side of the check in counter for a long time.  Even on the flight they were not treated in any special way, and again they were told to fill up USA customs form on their own, but as they did not have their passports they did not know the number and the CO hostess did not fill this up so there was a lot of delay at the customs counter because of this.

Then they were taken by CO staff at Newark for their connecting flight, but to the wrong gate, from where they had to literally run to the correct gate. They managed to board the flight with just 5 min to spare.  When they reached Austin, their luggage did not arrive and was only delivered after 24 hours.  Continental has not bothered to reply to the formal complaint, they only gave the tracking number without even offering an apology.  Arrogant, rotten airline.  If the children had been smaller or not known English, it would have been so traumatic for them.  Never send your kids unaccompanied on Continental.

Continental Airlines Cheats people..!
Jun 16, 2008 04:23 PM9277 Views

*I have used continetal airlines to fly from DEL to EWR. I highly recommend all of you to stay away from continental airlines as they are the biggest cheats and mismanagers. Instead prefer Delta.

First time: They made me miss my flight due to wrong information regarding the timing of flights on phone and later refused even to talk to me regarding this. They made me wait more than 24 hrs at airport without accomodation , the people at check in counters are very rude and seem to dont care about anyone.

Second time:  Gurgaon office officals .. ( Ms Anjana Sharma, Mr Gaurav Sharma & Ms Poonam are theives) , I had booked all the tickets online , no0rmally , then I got a call later saying my ticket is not processed and they wanted my credit info on phone, firstly I was hesitant to give..then after 2-3 days of conforming and verification I trusted them and gave it to them, but they in turn disclosed the credi info to my friend who called them. They are bioggest cheats and you can never trust them. Later Anjana the supervisor was very rude to me and even refused to talk to me..

So I request you all to stay away from these cheats..!

New York United States of America
Decent non-stop experience
Jun 10, 2008 08:07 PM11021 Views

Just returned from a trip to India and flew Continental's non-stop flight Newark-Mumbai-Newark in BusinessFirst.  It was a decent experience.  Continental uses a Boeing 777 for this route.  The planes looked quite new but unfortunately, they don't have full flat beds in business class - they have the old style cradle seats which is out of date as most airlines are installing full flat beds in business class.

The seats are quite wide however, and I was able to snatch a few short cat-naps during the flight.  Food was OK, they had 3 choices (indian non-veg, Western non-veg, and Indian veg) for dinner and 2 choices (Western non-veg and Indian veg) for the breakfast serving, but the food itself was a little on the tasteless side.  By contrast, Jet and Delta both have much better food and also a wider range of offerings.

There is a nice business lounge at Newark.  The one in Mumbai is horrific, but that's to be expected since multiple airlines are being forced to share lounges in view of the work going on at Mumbai airport.  Going to India, the plane had a state of the art IFE, with AVOD, loads of movies and TV programs to choose from and the ability to create your own custom jukebox.  However, on the return flight, they were using a slightly older Boeing 777 and that did not have AVOD, just the old-style channels.

Where Continental scores is punctuality and ground handling.  Going to India, we were delayed by one hour but that was because of excessive congestion at Mumbai airport which forced our place to basically do aerial laps around the airport for an hour as they could not get ATC clearance to land.  Coming back, we left half an hour late due to heavy rain, but still made up time and landed 10 minutes early in Newark.  Ground handling is super-efficient at both destinations and I got my baggage very fast both ways (guess the Priority tag also helps).  So I would say that overall, Continental is a safe, reliable option for flying non-stop to India.  However, the lack of full flat beds in business class and not so great food and IFE are to my mind, significant disadvantages vis-a-vis some of their competitors.  Delta has now introduced full flat beds on their non-stop flight to Mumbai and that might be the better option (at least until Jet introduces their non-stop flight).

I was reading all the reviews posted over this site on Continetal airlines, well neverless to metion, its a great uselful tip to choose or trash Con Air, But after all this I wonder, DOES ANYONE bothers for these coments or recomendations? atleast the managemnt team? Do they try to improve on the passengers complain of poor veggie meals, inadequate leg space, over worked and hence irritable FA, in-flight chargeable drink!(that aweosme crazy, typical American money making mentality)?

Well I feel they should make a serious note of these blogs, and try to improve them, atleast work on them. they need not feel or be in any impression that its the life line for NONSTOP travel from US to DEL(India), with Air India launchig their NS service with Brand New Dreamliner flights, with AA offering NS service, and JET AIRWAYS(a small stop in Brussels), continental should seriously mend their lacunes and work to make it different. else I say what it goes in India saying. You can fool someone once. but not always. with options opening more and more, it wont take peoples long to trash Continental Airlines in no time if they  try to act smart or act cheap. so better. do your homework

Why cant you make passengers happy flying with you for 14 hours! why should you bargain on daam foods(It real nasty to even talk), drinks and attitude?

Excellent non stop flight to US
Oct 06, 2007 06:36 PM8232 Views

We have flown by continental  once from new delhi to newark . The experience was good. A non stop flight is just so convenient . The check in counter was great, helpful and quick. The security kept rubbing my visa as if he suspected fraud. I have no problems with high security except when it becomes obvious that you are being singled out . Rubbing my visa! There are other ways but he may not be aware of them, lack of training and customer service. The kind of look I got is similar to what a mexican would get at the immigration counter in Texas.

The seats were cramped for a 16 hour journey. It must be to break even to make the flight profitable. overall the cabin crew was friendly / A wider indian menu is required. All liquor was at charge. The movie selection poor.

But why am I being positive about all this when there are so many problems. Because, we ignored them to get from point A to B in the shortest possible time/ without the hassle of standing in lines and moving our luggage from belt to belt.

I am sure there is oppurtunity for other lines to start non stop with much better service than continental . The ticket prices are similar to airlines who have stop overs .

New York USA
A reliable company with average service
Jun 07, 2007 10:14 PM10637 Views

Continental is usually used by me on the EWR-DEL routes for they are most convenient and punctual; however service is nothing incredible. Flights are always on time upon arrival and departure, and because operations are daily, finding a seat on a precise date is done with ease. When it comes to organization..Continental beats Air India, Lufthansa (who looses bags), British Airways, and other of the numerous carriers operating to Delhi from New York. Also the flight is direct, with no layover in Europe which helps cut travel time. When it comes to precision, Continental takes the cake...but if one is curious about other capabilities of this airline in other aspects of the industry such as service , it is not disapointing but is not as extravagant as Thai's or Singapore's.

Don't get me wrong, serivce on this airline is adequate, but not as comfortable as other airlines operating the same route. Seats are a bit tight, legroom and recline are OK. The flight attendants are corteous but robotic, and tend to become frustrated but still try to put on a smile at the end of the flight. The reason for this frustration after the first 10 hrs is because the route itself with a tailwind is15 hrs and with a headwind is 13hrs, making it the longest nonstop route Continental serves. Because of the flight's duration FA's get tired and begin to become angry- something the FA's of Thai and Singapore are able to withstand.

However the flight attendants of Continental are fine otherwise and respond to passenger requests. The cabin and bathrooms are always spotless which is impressive after unhygenic Indians use them for 13 or 15 hours straight. Catering is delicious (they use real silverware :-0!! )and drink runs are done 2-3 times in the flight which is excellent for passengers who get dehydrated.

The IFE (in flight entertainment) is spectacular with personal TV screens and 12 video channels, 21 audio, and many video games to choose from; which really helps pass by the time. We land in Delhi bang on time or 1/2hr early, bags are already on the belt when we arrive...and we are out in 20mins due to great efficency by Continental ground staff! Overall Continental has a very good product. They are EXTREMLEY reliable which is an excellent quality to have in an airline, and service is comfortable and standard. If you are looking for a convienent, reliable airline with service that is OK..about 3 1/2 stars worth, Continental is right for you!

Awful Customer Service and Incompetent
Jul 08, 2005 12:11 AM6717 Views

Continental's customer service gave me completely incorrect information to my specific billing questions, leading to major complications with my charges. When I tried to get them to rectify the issue, I was given the runaround through various phone numbers or voice-mails. When I finally got a hold of someone, I was treated very rudely by several ''supervisors'' who were unable or unwilling to help me at all.

I am shocked by this company and it's lack of accountability and apathy towards its customers. I will never ever fly with Continental again.

I know this sounds like bashing and most people don't bother with a review unless it's negative, but this takes the cake of all negative customer service experiences I've ever had.

You have all been warned: STAY AWAY FROM CONTINENTAL AIRLINES! Try Southwest or Delta, they've always been willing to help out their customers, and do it with courtesy.
