I bought this book The complete Book of Cooking in Punjabi Style : Balties, Curries, Sabjies, Burjies, in Veg and Non Veg written by Krishna Purtoy published by authorhouse.
Assuming that this book would have all the recipes regarding all different kinds of paste. I was disappointed with this book. All recipes that are not a staple of Punjabi cooking such as chicken balti, chicken korma, pork , rogan josh, --the list goes on--. I already have plenty of Punjabi cookbooks. So these recipes are not the kind that I was looking for.
I was rather annoyed when I looked up the recipe for chicken balti . She substituted bhuna paste in the recipe as a ready made paste--not commonly found in India—It would have been fine if she would have included the original recipe as well. She claims her book as a complete book of balti, curries" but she omits it and the entire recipes are not worth it. She mentions to add balti paste. you then tried to search the whole book. nothing mentioned about what is balti paste and its ingredients. I have found nothing in this book.
Beware of the recipes you might see in the table of contents are tricky. There is a recipe on every page with big capital fonts which isn't easy readable. It is full of grammatical errors and no proper punctuation. It is not authentic at all. Why on Earth would you waste paper printing these recipes? My Money has gone down in the drain. I would be happy if I get refund of this book. It is definitely The MOST Incomplete Book of Cooking in Punjabi Style : Balties, Curries, Sabjies, Burjies, in Veg and Non Veg. I would rate it as a zero.
I recommend not to buy the book. now the cost is rs 4400
