Come On Over - Shania Twain Reviews

I had a romantic meal with Shania Twain!

Not just the once either.

I often sit down to a candlelit dinner, with a nice bottle of Jacobs Creek, and Shania will sing to me all night.

Okay, it’s the CD, but the wife loves her music, and I have to admit that the lyrics, crooning, and her melody’s do grow on you after a while.

I bought the CD after the “ that don’t impress me much” hype had hit the airwaves.

All because of the jibe she had at Brad Pitt (he don’t impress me neither), and found that the very first track was not only my favorite, but also a very good mood setter, if ever you do want a romantic night with your other half.

If you have never heard the track it is called You’re still the one.

The lyrics are typical Country (of which the section I thought most likely to find this title in, but surprisingly not), and remind me of the time I met my wife and everyone told her I was no good for her etc, that was over 7 years ago!

The mood of the CD swings from rock/beat (When, Man! I feel like a woman) music, to slow Ballard style songs (from this moment on, you’ve got a way).

As the CD winds its way to its climax, (which by the way is 16 tracks long, almost a double CD, so excellent value for money) you are slapped in the face by the what will always be a cult classic for women “That don’t impress me much” (UK dance mix- obviously we cant handle the USA version), gradually winding through Honey I’m Home, If you wanna touch her, ask! and finally, its time to do the washing up as Rock this country comes on.

This is the perfect CD to dine by, as the mood goes up and down so you can relax and also tap along, and if your up to it, the devils own Karaoke sing along to That don’t impress me much. I will guarantee that after a few seconds, you will sing along to it, and probably get the words wrong, which always seems to amuse women!

If there are any guys out there who need to spice up their love life. Go and buy this, and cook your partner a lovely meal. Spoil them, they love it and usually deserve it.

And girls, the same goes for you. We like to be spoilt to (as if you didn’t know)

Twain with a twang

Shania Twain is what you might call a heart throb for American men as she is pretty and has a great figure but she also has a great voice and a good singing style.

This cd by her is one of my favorites and has some great songs on it including:

Man I feel like a woman

I'm holding on

Love gets me every time

Don't be stupid

From this moment on

Come on over

When

What ever you do, don't

If you want to touch her

Your still the one

Honey I'm home

That don't impress me much

Blue eyes, blue tears

I won't leave

There are 14 songs in all. Honey I'm home is one I mentioned in another review that is one of my favorite all time songs. Part of it goes like this:

Honey I'm home

And I've had a hard day

Pour me a cold one

And oh by the way

And she goes on to tell her man to get the dog a bone and her something to eat and so on. She has done a few songs like this that are very upbeat but some men make take offense at them. I think what she is trying to say is what is good for a man is also good for a woman. This does not mean that I agree with her completely.

Some people aren't into country music but she is one that can be considered a cross over from pop and many that don't like country will like her and so I recommend her for one to people just starting to listen to country. So if you haven't heard her give a listen to some of her songs and you might find that you like her.
