I have always had a fetish to collect coins and currencies of different countries and times. Knowing this my uncle had once taken me and my cousins to the Coin Museum while on a vacation to Udupi.

The way it is maintained & the collection of currency which it has on display is amazing. I must say that the coins and notes are very well-preserved and the museum is small and very neat.

The curator, Mr. M.K. Krishnayya was so helpful and eagerly explained us the stories behind the currencies and related stuffs. After hearing to him, we were surprised to know that there are so many historical moments captured in the currencies that we use in our day to day routine. But yes I must say, if you are not interested in currencies, it can get a bit boring out there. I had a very good time and would surely visit it again to know more about the currencies.
