Close-Up Freshening Gel Reviews

Try once and you keep using all the time...
Apr 19, 2015 09:38 PM 5830 Views

Since childhood I always used pepsodent toothpaste and shifted to closeup, only for the taste:p Close-Up toothpaste comes in a paste, gel, and with whitening agents. If you prefer the feel of a paste, or of a gel, you will enjoy using Close-Up.

It has several flavors which comes in green, blue red and so more. I mostly prefer the red or the green flavor, flavor is pleasant leaving a cool, minty taste in your mouth. You definitely do feel that you have fresh breath after using Close-Up. After doing brush by closeup, we really feel very fresh through the day. It wipes out decay & bad breath from my mouth, good product to recommend to all you guys.

Close up red toothpaste  have been used by me many times and it has been very good experience for me to use it. It has many advantages for the teeth. After using it makes me feel fresh.

The packing of it is very good and it cleans the teeth very nicely and prevents my teeth from dirt and germs. whenever I have dinner before sleeping I do use close up toothpaste and makes my teeth strong. It is a very good toothpaste product and it is considered one of the best brand of toothpaste along with colgate toothpaste.

I have used it for many years and it is very much affordable and effective. It has great cleansing effect and it has several benefits for teeth protection and mouth protection. The taste is sweet and it feels fresh. After using it is very good experience and its full value for money.

Fantastic transparent, red toothpaste
Apr 14, 2015 10:57 PM 4597 Views

A fantastic transparent, red toothpaste that gets rid of bad breath and bacteria is none other than the Close Up Red toothpaste. It's readily available in the market. Using it in the morning will give a fresh start to the day, make you feel refreshed and save you from the embarrassment of bad breath, which can lay a very bad impression on people who work close to you.

Using it in the night will clean your teeth and get rif of the germs, tartar, food, and plaque that gets collected during the day. SO you can sleep fresh as well. The toothpaste is available in almost every store or medical, and even the most remote village. The toothpaste adds lustre to your teeth, and you can confidently smile with an open wide mouth. Your teeth will only shimmer like pearls.

The flavor and smell of the paste is also very different. As a kid, I used to swallow or eat it up occasionally. Owning and using it is a great Oral Care deal. If you have any gum problems or feel that your teeth are getting weak, then you should give this toothpaste a try and your problems will be solved for sure, leaving your teeth and gums healthy and strong. So Close Up isn't really  a make up for the teeth but also protects it from damage.

Cheap & Tasty- Closeup
Apr 14, 2015 03:11 PM 4705 Views

First not to forget, I like close up add. Its better than other tooth paste's ads especially colgate. breaking the door and wall. Regarding its tatse I like it. Its sweet and good to taste  unlike colgate which is very salty and bitter. After brushing I feel weird with colgate.

Intially I used to use colgate but after I have shifted to closeup I am not able to use any other paste and I also don't want too. It is very cheap also. I take a small pack of Rs 19 which continues for me for atleast 2 months. Cheap and tasty. And I like it because sometimes I even have a habit of eating tooth paste while brushing. it even protects my mouth for the whole day. So I trust closeup

Missed in a breath
Apr 13, 2015 01:36 PM 5177 Views

Close up deep action claims to come with active zinc mouth wash and offers to keep your breath fresh for 12 hours. I was looking for another brand. However the same was not available with the grocer near my house. Like most of the Indians I too go to shop for a tooth paste only when it is over. As a result I had little option to buy and I bought Close up deep action.

I loved packing of the product. Even for the price ten rupees the packing was attractive. The touch of the tube was soft and enriched my experience. The colour is of course red hot. We can not forget that it was close up that added colours to the otherwise colourless lives of tooth pastes. So obviously they cannot go wrong with the colour.

Howeve when it came to taste it miserablely faltered. That was when I missed my old brand tooth paste and repented as to why did not walk some more steps and try my luck at another store. The taste was to searched for I did not feel any taste at all in my mouth. What I felt was a taste of mouthwash which was not a pleasant experience. The kind of experience which the tooth paste promises making you bounce with enthusiasm when you are all tired.

Again as regards the twelve hour mouth freshness claim is concerned I have my own reservations. Firstly how are you going to count those 12 hours? Does it mean that you should not eat for the next 12 hours once you eat? Or the paste claims to keep your breath fresh even if you eat between that time period. Moreover my breath is always fresh. So I am unable to tell as to whether the claim stands true or not.

To sum up I liked the packaging but not the product. The packet definitely felt much better than the brand which I like. But when it came to the taste of the paste Close up deep action disappointed me.

Whiter teeth!!!
Mar 28, 2015 09:13 PM 4009 Views (via Mobile)

Started using the all new closeup diamond attraction toothpaste. I must say that it gives good effect. We could feel the difference after using it. I believe we can attain whiter teeth on regular use of this toothpaste.

Price is on par with those from other brands like Colgate. The toothpaste also tastes good.

Must try!

Apr 26, 2012 04:14 AM 5604 Views

Hello from Pental,

We are receiving lots of enquiries from our loyal Close Up customers about where the product is distributed.

Close Up can still be found at independent supermarkets such as IGA, Ritchies, Foodworks, Foodland and Franklins. Also it is distributed at selected Woolworths.

If you live in Victoria, Pental has just opened its first outlet store located in Port Melbourne where you can buy Close Up toothpaste and other products such as White King range at a discounted price.

I hope this is helpful.

Jan 22, 2011 02:59 AM 7310 Views

Can anyone tell me where in Queensland Australia can I buy Close up toothpaste? My family and I really enjoy the flavour and overall benefits of using Close up toothpaste.

I had first used it in New Zealand on holiday. Found it in Big W and Woolies but they have now taken it off the shelves and we can only get Colgate. There is no longer any choice.

Would really like to get some decent toothpaste again.

THE TRUE FRESHNESS
Sep 10, 2006 05:42 PM 4552 Views

Dear Sir / Medam,

Close up is my first choice since my childhood. Actually I am using redcloseup from my childhood. blue closeup is also good because it iscomparable with pepsodent. But the main competitors for Closeup inIndia are Colgate & Amway toothpaste.

I think blue close up is the best toothpaste than any other toothpastes available in global market.

The most things I like in blue closeup is cleansing power & it'sminto fresh essence throught whole day. After doing brush by blue closeup, we really feel very fresh through the day. It wipes out decay &bad breath from my mouth.

In conclusion, I want to say that since my childhood I have exprementedmany toothpastes like colgate, pepsodent, Amway, choice & miswak, but especially I found blue closeup the best in the world.

I also think that there is nothing which I dislike in this product. Iwill give excellent grade to this product. Although there is a scope ofmore updation in this product.

Thanking you,

Mubin Kureshi

this tooth paste is good in comparision to earlier products of close up, this is new taste n gives refreshing effect in your breath plus it fights grems n bacteria that cause tooth decay n stuff , used it n found it effective , so if u r buying a tooth paste just check this one out n try it once , if u like it then recommend it . I was also recommended this by one of my friends who was not very satisfied with his toothpaste as it was boring n he wanted a change in taste, so he tried many other similar offerings in the market such as colgate , anchor etc but he found out that most of his friends too use closeup so he alos went for that one , he found it very good so he started recomending it to his friends n friends tooh paste does matter when you are in some disscusion and if youhave bad breath or unclean teeth and you start feeling un comfortable and you start losing your confidence, thats why tooth paste matters

I am really impressed with Close Up toothpaste, espically the red variety.

I first tried this toothpaste when I was living in Cyprus. On my return to the U.K I was able to purchase it in a shop which was about 30 minutes drive away, but unfortunately then they stopped selling it. The only way I am now able to purchase Close Up toothpaste is if I know anyone who is visiting Cyprus and I ask them to bring some of the Close Up back for me.

I really enjoy using the Close Up toothpaste range as it leaves my mouth feeling fresh for the day and it's taste is very refreshing unlike some other toothpaste brands which I have used in the past.

I would really like to continue to use the Close Up range of toothpaste in the future. Though in my current situation that is not looking very possible. Please can you advise me where my nearest stockist is, in the Catterick, North Yorkshire, England area.

The killer toothpaste
May 27, 2003 06:00 PM 5253 Views

When we go to market to buy a toothpaste, we hardly care to flip the tube over and check its contents. This could be a serious mistake! I don't wish to threaten you but I feel that all our members of mouthshut.com should be aware of some facts about the toothpaste they use.

Source: WHO and IDA sites.

A typical toothpaste contains (and must contain) an abrasive, humectant, binder, detergent, flavour, preservative and therapeutic agent. Lets go one by one.

Abrasive are coarse particles in the toothpaste that scrub away the food debris on our teeth. The common abrasives used include calcium carbonate and silica compounds. Of these, calcium carbonate is safe but there's lot of debate going on about how safe are silica compounds when taken in orally. Although the connection between silica and Crohn's disease is not proven yet, to be on safer side you should avoid toothpaste containing silica.

Humectants and binders are used to prevent loss of water and subsequent hardening of the paste . Glycerol and sorbitol are common. Sorbitol may cause diarrhoea in large doses as it acts as an osmotic laxative and hence must be avoided.

Detergents help loosen plaque deposits and emulsify the debris removed from the tooth surface during cleaning. Their action is similar to the common detergent used for washing. The commonly used detergent in toothpaste is sodium lauryl sulphate. When used in moderate amounts this chemical should pose no risk. But if swallowed in large amounts, it can cause intra-oral ulceration. However, the chances are negligible (as detergent contents in toothpastes are quite low) and there's no reason to avoid toothpastes with sodium lauryl sulphate.

The use of fluoride toothpastes is beneficial in the prevention of dental caries, but at the same time, excess fluoride leads to dental fluorosis. Most toothpastes today contain 0.1% (1000 ppm) fluoride, usually in the form of sodium monofluorophosphate or Sodium fluoride (MFP); 100 g of toothpaste containing 0.76 g MFP (equivalent to 0.1 g fluoride). The suggested toxic dose of fluoride ion is 5 mg fluoride per kg body weight. For a 10 kg child, this corresponds to approximately half the contents of a 100 g tube of toothpaste. Therefore, young children should not be allowed unsupervised access to fluoride toothpastes.

Triclosan, an anti-microbial agent used extensively in deodorants, soaps and other dermatological preparations, is the active agent in new toothpastes. It is a pesticide, and is dangerous to both human health and the environment. This chlorinated aromatic chemical is highly toxic compound. Avoid by all means, any toothpaste containing triclosan.

Conclusion: I checked the contents of commonly used toothpastes. Of these I found that Close-Up is the worst toothpaste containing triclosan, silica and sorbitol. Colgate wins. It has calcium carbonate instead of silica and doesn't have any triclosan.

In general, when you buy a toothpaste avoid the ones containing silica compounds, triclosan, sorbitol and with more than 1000 ppm fluoride.

One of the best!

Out of the million toothpastes available in the vast increasing market of oral health care products, close up red lives up to its 'tingly red' tagline, and dental proffesional tests and trials have pronounced it to be one of the best in its category. One major area it lost to competitors is that it is non-flouridated. Most of the people using it have repeatedly gone for re purchases which speaks about the volume of its popularity.

However, it is not advertised as much as its less effective high cost counterparts. this is one aspect that should be advertised more..the clinical results per se the chemico evaluative results.

There is no reason why this product cannot compete with other products in its category.

I give my thumbs up for the product.

I don’t know why Toothpaste’s are categorized here under Bath, Body and Skin / Oral Care . After all teeth don’t really come under any of these three , unless you are talking gums ; but that’s a Secondary Tissue , sorry - secondary issue .

“Get to the point man “ , my alter ego tells me , so here it comes ‘ Ladies and Gents , the one and only Jasbirdyn’s views on ( Drrrrrrummmmm RRRRRrrrrrrollllll here ) Close-Up Green Toothpaste’.

Anyway , I was earlier a diehard fan of Colgate Calcigard, more so after I lost one of my teeth to decay .

But , subsequently Calcigard was NOT available in the market , since more than a year now, due to reports of Fluoride excess.

So I shifted to Close-Up Oxyfresh , but that too is missing from the shelves now . Now , I make do with Close-Up Green , which just isn’t the same , but according to me the Best available .

It’s gotta Gel kinda look , fizzes or foams just right and tastes part-minty . Yeah , OK it cleans too , but I thought the toothbrush scores more in that department .

CUG comes in a soft squeeze tube ( Don’t they all ? ) that’s just convenient for well – squeezing .

Anyway, all I can say is that the choice of toothpaste , finally boils down to Great Taste and that’s what this has, apart from salivating Ads .

( Sushma aunty has stopped brushing , since the Close-Up Ad showed Kissing as one of its after-effects , She actually needs more , ahem , Teethto stop the Ad on foreign channels )

Well that’s all for now , folks . Use Close-Up Green . Laugh away your Blues .

Leaves A Cool Minty Taste In Your Mouth
Mar 30, 2001 05:05 PM 8190 Views

There are so many toothpastes out there that it is often

confusing knowing which brand, which flavor, or which type

(i.e., gel, paste, tube or pump).

Over the years I have tried Close-Up many times, using the

tube until it was gone, then going back to my main choice,

Crest. I was brought up using Crest, and even though the

other brands are just as good, and taste great, I have

never found another brand to really replace my mainstay.

Close-Up toothpaste comes in a paste, gel, and with

whitening agents. If you prefer the feel of a paste, or

of a gel, you will enjoy using Close-Up.

The paste is smooth and spreads well on your toothbrush. A

small amount will work very well and your mouth will feel

clean and fresh, even kind of tingly after it's use.

I have tried the gel once - it is thicker than the paste

and does cling well to the brush, but using a gel has

never been my preference. It seems like you need to brush

harder or longer to get the gel to totally ''dissolve'' and

to not have little pieces of gel sticking to your teeth.

The paste seems to rinse out quicker and easier than the

gel.

The flavor is pleasant leaving a cool, minty taste in your

mouth. You definitely do feel that you have fresh breath

after using Close-Up!

Give it a try - You may find yourself switching brands

for good! :o)

Like Eating A Hot Tamale For Breakfast
Mar 30, 2001 12:00 PM 6433 Views

I am not impressed with this toothpaste. I do not see that it is better or even as good as some tooth pastes that are just made out of good old baking soda.

I do not like the feel of a burning mouth in the morning and this is what this toothpaste makes my mouth feel like.

After brushing with this , it does not give you a good feeling in your mouth.

For people that have to brush their tougue, I am not into that, But I know that some people have to. This would be very uncomfortable with this toothpaste.

While this is not advertised as a tongue cleaner, many tooth pastes have to do that double duty. This tooth paste is more like eating a mouth full of red hots.

I cant recommend this tooth paste.

Tootpaste for showoff
Jan 19, 2001 02:12 PM 4035 Views

The teeth R there to be taken care of and not just for show. The tooth paste only give u a refreshment for a hour time But does not help U to solve U main problem .

The only positive of the paste is the taste is good .

The toothpaste should be ment for both ie refreshment & also to take a good care of Ur teeth throught the day.

so that the teeth would not get harm.I think Colgate Total is the best on all the paste avaible in the market.Person will not only see to waste money for only so called ''TASGHEE''.

So the tooth paste should only be such that it will take care of Teeth as well as refreshing fragrance throught the day
