Chennai Packers and Movers

I didn't have sofa or dinning table hence wanted to choose a cheap one. But I regret this decision now. I paid 5k to move from Velachery to Royapettah but they broke so many of my things that I had to spend 10k more. This move was on Feb 2014. They weren't courteous too. I had to literally chase them as they refused to go despite Rs 800 tips. They were supposed to come by 6 am but reached only at 11 am to start packing.

Hence, don't think of Chennai P&M.

When I was moving from Madurai to Pune, I have chosen Chennai P&M to move my goods. I fell for their colorful campaigning in TV and thought that their service would be good. That was one of the worst decisions I took in my life.

1.On the day of packing, I was supposed to complete everything by evening and had to catch a bus to travel from Madurai to Bangalore and then a flight to Pune. To my horror, the packing guys did not turn up until 3 PM. I made at least 50 phone calls to everyone in their Madurai office but to no avail.

2.At last, packing started at 3 PM but in a totally haphazard and unprofessional way. I lost a few household items during this time, which I only recognized after the goods reached my Pune home.

3.Finally all packing was done after a lot of running around and at 7:30 PM their manager came to me to take signature on the list of items. Alas, we found that my bike was left behind. Couple of their workers who were supposed to pack the bike and took the keys from me in that pretext were roaming on Madurai streets on my bike. I was aghast to know this, but had too little time to do anything. Their manager said something to them in Tamil and assured me that it will be packed and lifted to truck in one hour, I don't need to worry.

4.When I packed my traveling bag and came down, I was shocked to know that there was no container truck as I was promised by C P&M. Instead they have loaded my goods in an open truck and their manager was coolly assuring me that the goods will be moved to their warehouse somewhere in Madurai and then will be shifted into a container truck. Left with no time to argue, I had no choice but to believe him.

5.As per their sales person, the goods would reach Pune in three days. I knew that it was a very ambitious timeline and was hoping that they would at least reach Pune in 5 days. However, 10 days are gone, no goods yet. God knows how we managed with the bare minimum luggage we had and with my 8 months old son. Finally after two weeks and after countless calls to their Pune regional office, I got the goods delivered. But the story is not finished yet.

6.Their Pune manager (let's call him KR, do not want to reveal name here) is a totally unprofessional and unpleasant guy. I heard this guy openly demanding my wife to give bakshees to his workers as they lifted the goods from ground floor to 9th. My wife had to argue a lot to convince him that we had already paid the charges for lifting them to 9th floor. He also made us to pay for some Octroi, which were not told about by their Madurai guys. Then we found that some items were damaged, including my bike, fridge and sofa. When asked about those damages, we got the response that "those things do happen". Shocked to hear this response, I asked him why are they charging so much, when they cannot avoid damages. His response was "Everyone pays, you are not special." PATHETIC. That pushed my patience to its limits. Called their Madurai office, got the number of their GM in Chennai and rang him up.

7.Their GM was courteous to begin with, at least heard what I had to say. He promised me that he will have a word with this guy KR.

8.After a couple of follow ups, their GM turned tables on me that KR was saying that I spoke to him in foul language and didn't behave professionally. He gave me a free advice that I need to discuss with KR amicably and sort out the issue.

I was totally exhausted arguing with these morons. I had thoughts of moving to consumer forum but couldn't do so due to some personal issues but started spreading the message about these guys and their unprofessional behavior.

NEVER FALL FOR THEIR GIMMICKS AND AD CAMPAIGNING PERIOD.

Let me please tell you. These guys will not keep promises. During sales time they have communicated that my luggage will be shipped in their own container. But when I received it was with some one else's iron scrap material in an open truck.

They promised for delivery in 2 days but came after a week with lot of items damaged. Believe me, I had to  arrange and pay for the unloading charges. People who pick up phone are very unprofessional and disconnect the call when we ask some thing.

Sales guy Srinivasulu is a cheater. He does not pick up calls once payment is done. They insist for full payment during pick up because they do all the mess in moving so don't want the control with someone else.

Please spare these guys. Worst people to work with!

They gave me flat fee estimation over the phone and they reserved their speech about price and delivery time borders. As well, Chennai Packers Movers constantly and gladly answered any questions and addressed any worries that we had.

These guys doesn't even know how to communicate / deal with Customers.They don't know how to coordinate among them? Especially a person called M.Murugan who is a liar and doesn't know how to communicate and deal with the customer.

I booked Chennai Packers  & Movers service to move my household things . It took 6 days for them to move things that too after following it up with them more than 100 times by calling from 6 different mobile numbers( because they don't answer the call, if they feel and find that they have done a mistake), where as it shouldn't even have taken 24 hours.

In a Nutshell, Chennai Packers & Movers  packed my peaceful life and moved to Hell for one week.

So please please don't use Service from Chennai Packers & movers

Mbm packers did slipshod work.

1)They kept the B>computer monitor* with the glass side facing the ground. There are scratches on it.

2) The modem was lost.

3) We carried the LPG cylinder in Auto rickshaw because they left it there itself. When asked, they said "Why  didn't you tell us? We can't bring it now." Thus they are good in turning the table at us.

The way they packed, it was very difficult to find things even after many days have passed.

They just come, put the things on the brown card board box and then swish  Off to the destination and get payment.

Southern Express Packers and Movers to move my household from Chennai to Jaipur. I would admit that they did a wonderful job.

Mr Sharma, 9345691018, 9962140001, 044-31921112 is a good professional and he kept all his commitments. The charge was reasonable and he did not charge any thing extra than committed. The staff is well behaved.

The goods were very well packed with cargo sheet, wooden crates, bubble sheets and thermocol sheets for fragile items and lamination and loaded them fine in truck and they reached on time without any damage or loss in the same truck in which it was loaded in Chennai.

The unloaders in Jaipur too were very nice and helped me unpack all my goods and assemble my bed, wardrobe and stuff.

I strongly recommend Mr Sharma and his company for relocation from Chennai to Jaipur and wish them all the best .

I have used Chennai Packers fr shifting my home from Nanganallur to Porur. I'm living in Singapore, just got them through Google search and called them. The staff was very  professional, courteous n helpful..

In one word, I would say Chennai Packers are value for money!

I lost some of my items during the shifting process and when asked it will be blame game finally they will blame us (that is the most ridiculous part). The MD Mr Kumar is very arrogant and gives the most irritating answers. No proper response, Delay in delivering the goods, Very poor customer care and no ethics.

All the clauses in the agreement will be entirely favorable to them and none of it will be favorable to us.  They asked extra money for every shifting we did, due to some issues we shifted first our vehicles and secondly the household materials.

We paid every time around 200 rs as tip for the people. For shifting the car we ended up paying 500 rs. So overall for tips alone we paid nearly 700 rs. I have seen few customers giving a 5 star rating for this packers I find them really lucky that they were able to get a better service.

However, I bet majority of the clients were disappointed or unhappy. So my sincere suggestion is do not avail their service.

I recently engaged Chennai Packers & Movers to shift my household & car from chennai to Madhya pradesh. I want to share my wonderful experience with all! The person who came to do the estimation promised many things.. The materials will reach within 6 days. They will collect (packing & loading) & deliver(unloading & unpacking).

They came with a team on 9th July and did the packing and loading into their covered truck with the Chennai packers & movers Logo etc., .. It looks like what you see in the movies..But the happy feeling stops there! We reached Indore and waited and waited for our stuff to come..So many phone calls with different answers...one time they say its moving through Hyderabad..

After 2 days someone says they will load it today Sir! They keep giving answers which are controversial. Finally on the 22nd of July it arrived and we were in for a rude shock! the material was sent in a truck which also had a big load of batteries..The truck was not belonging to the company. It was one of many trucks which pass through Chennai.

My washing machine has become a total write off..(broken in many places)..The truck driver had no clue and no connection with the packers & movers.. There was nobody to unload so we had to run around to find help to do the same. My car took another 2 weeks to reach, again putting us in so much tension..What I have come to know from this... These guys are not what they claim to be in their website..They are just common touts who catch orders for the trucks..

So please.. anyone who reads this...don't ever engage Chennai Packers & movers if you are shifting from state to state. They are the worst, they have no decency when you call them...You can name them as Chennai Cheaters & Liars! If this forum allows me write abusive language I will use all the bad words in english to describe them..

If only I had the time and patience to sue these guys I would do it..

If you see their site, they say we are "Prompt and Punctual." But they are not at all worth to use these words. I had a bad experience with Chennai Packers and Movers last week where I couldn't get my consignment as is on time.

The waste Manager Munirathnam committed that my things will be delivered from Chennai to Tirunelveli in 2 days. But after multiple follow-ups with about 30, 40 calls to different persons, I got my things damaged after 7 days. Please don't approach Chennai Packers and Movers; otherwise you'll become mad.

Don't use Chennai packers and movers. Its worst packers and movers..They will take more charge and they will tell single vehicle will arrange, but they won't do.

Even customer have to follow up them. They will not place the goods with in the time period..They will take so many days.

My kind suggestion is don't go with Chennai packers and movers.

Worst experience I had with Chennai packers & movers.

They are not sending the goods on time.multiple follow-ups and needs to speak with multiple persons to get the item delivered..

The worst ever experience I had with Chennai Packers....relocated from Jaipur to Coimbatore....had to follow up for 2 days as the truck never came as promised (Break down / No entry / Permit issues) and finally it arrived after multiple follow-ups...

Packed it up and the supervisor (Ravinder) wanted full amount to be settled before moving the goods out, where as the business development executive (Madhu) said not to pay in full. Ravinder says only if I pay in full the truck can be moved, tried reaching Madhu and he dint answer the call, dint have an option and I had to pay in full. finally the truck moved out by 3rd July.

They promised delivery in 8 days and am still waiting till now (21st July) for delivery in Coimbatore...when contacted Madhu (he answers calls only once in a while, you need to be patient to reach him), he gives somebody else number in Chennai to coordinate and he also does not answer.

After several attempts they keep giving promises that it would be delivered in a day or two every time you call, they keep blaming the other supervisors or the city in charges etc....finally they gave me a number in Coimbatore to coordinate and he too after several attempts answers finally and promised it would reach on 20th evening and 21st morning and 21st afternoon, today when I called he says he does not have manpower to do unloading and unpacking.

Still I don't have a clue on what happened to my car...it had been sent on 2nd July and its almost 20 days now....they leave the customers guessing...not sure if my goods are going to be safe...

Also not sure if its the same truck or goods had been shifted here and there...my sincere advice to people going in for Chennai Packers to refrain from them. WORST EVER EXPERIENCE I HAVE HAD
