On 12/10/19 I started noticing my very expensive GPW1000T acting erratically. I contacted Casio for warranty support due to having purchased the watch on 7/ 29/19 from eBay seller fashiondirectly with 100% feedback from 29050 customers. It was sold as factory new with all tags. I video recorded the entire unboxing including the delivery man bring it to the door so there would be no disputing it. There is no question from the video that the watch was brand new. I also immediately went to Casio’s website and registered the watch through the serial number I then received an email saying Casio had extended the warranty another one year. On 12/16/19 Casio received the watch.
On 12/23/19 I emailed my proof of purchase. I received an email back stating the watch would not be covered under warranty because I purchased it from eBay.
On 01/02/20 I spoke to Audi who stated they were still evaluating it and I would be updated when it is finished but he had no idea when that would be. I challenged his uncertainty and he stated “look, this is an expensive watch and we want to make sure it gets fixed the first time” Audi also said the watch would be covered under warranty.
01/09/20 spoke to Wilda who sent an estimate $171.00 she said Eric the supervisor would call today or tomorrow for sure. Wilda stated that Eric is really good about calling people back and that he may call today but definitely tomorrow.
01/10/20 at 2:43PM no call back from Eric. I called, got Eric’s voicemail, and left an aggravated message stating that Wilda told me how good he was at getting back with people and that I did not expect a call back and to send my watch back to me.
01/10/20 at 3:50PM Eric called me back and said he was told I wanted to speak with him. I said I did but now I just want my watch back. He said he would put in the request.
Here is the real problem. I have a saved copy from this year of Casio‘s warranty directly from their website and nowhere does it say that the warranty is not valid if you have purchased it from an authorized dealer (eBay). This is not mentioned even in the section of six specific exclusions. It says “During the warranty period, upon proof of purchase, the product will be repaired using CASIO reconditioned replacement parts...”.
I have never had to deal with such a pathetic excuse for customer service with a large company. One thing I know without question is I will never give another penny of my hard earned money to Casio again. Even if it is something as small as a Casio brand calculator, I will buy Texas Instruments.
