Hi All! I am a proud owner of Electra since may 2015. Now, why its dying legend is because of reliability issues and high maintenance and other issues like vibrations and power being 18hp on a 350cc engine.
As it is above 1 lakh bike on road, issues stated should not exist as other bikes with comparatively small engine and low cost deliver high power and no vibrations at high speeds.
Factual review:
MILEAGE: company states bike mileage around 50 km-pl. I have ridden this bike in city as well as highways and got around 40 km-pl mileage with 60-70 km/h average speed.
COMFORT: This bike is quite comfortable on both off-roads and regular commute because of dual shockers in both front and rear and wide seat for the rider. Also However, riding as a pillion on this bike is not as comfortable but still does the job.
RELIABILITY: personally, I encountered only a couple of major problems which are quite considerable:
1- in the first year of its purchase, battery started to die in the middle of road. I got this issue 3-4 times. service center didn't really told the exact problem but only recharged and replaced the battery in first 2 times. 3rd time they just told me wires were loose and didn't replied comfortably upon asking.
2- in second year itself, bike parts have started rusting like battery cover on right side, chain gear on rear wheel and engine nuts/bolts.
ROAD GRIP: According to me, road-grip is average. bike tends to skid during braking and in mud. Replacing tyres with good ones solves the problem.
APPEAL: appeal of this bike is really good as slightly raised handlebar, comfortable seating, analogue instrument panel thump of exhaust note gives it a distinctive look.
