My Double Door 510 Liter Refrigerator suddenly stopped working. The lights were coming in the compartment but the Compressor wasn't starting up. The Display Panel on the top door was also dead. I had lodged a complaint with Bosch to get the machine checked for any corrective measures.
The good thing about Bosch customer care is they work Mon-Sat which means if, as a customer, get stuck on Saturday late evening, you need to curse yourself till Monday when you would again hear from the customer care agent of a 48 Hours time before anyone attends.
Imagine at 45 degrees Celsius in Noida(UP), my refrigerator went off on Saturday evening which had food stacked. All through Saturday night and whole of Sunday, I could only console myself by disposing food which was rotting every subsequent hour.
Now the so call engineer visits my place on Monday late evening as complaint could only be lodged on Monday morning(they work Mon-Sat only).
Next, without even opening or trying to operate the machine, he calls his Senior and shares his basic observations. The Senior plans for a visit the next day with testing meters, etc, but eventually calls next day(today - Tuesday) evening for the visit.
They are of the opinion that everyone is sitting back at home idle awaiting their arrival. Chief Guests, if you may grade them.
I am forced to postpone the engineers visit till tomorrow as I am not at home to entertain them. I would update the views of those NASA qualified engineers once I get to hear their valued inputs and claiming "Compressor gone" like master-strokes.
These guys are all nuts and are only into replacement rather than troubleshooting. Like Honda, Ford and other automobile Service Centers.
In my opinion for a longer peace of mind, one should avoid buying Bosch products and focus on alternate brands where the products are at par but post sales service is way way much better. Initially, such alternate brands would also come a couple of 1000/- less and support is quite prompt and satisfactory.
Advertising "German Engineered" and other crap is just nuisance. Gone are those days of Germany. Gone is Hitler.
A big NO to Bosch products.
An Update:
Yesterday, an engineer visited and informed that the PANEL has burnt off and the Panel needs to get replaced. Expenses would be around Rs.4,600/-.
Later on in evening, I receive a call from another engineer who tells me the Power Module is fused and needs a replacement. Expenses would be around Rs.1,400/-.
I am actually at a loss of words with every joker speaking a different version. Eventually, I had confirmed them to change the Power Module, if that is the case but till now there has neither been an confirmation on day/time.
It takes 5 days for the qualified engineers of Bosch to exchange views ping pong and nobody knows who is correct. Just wielding the sword in the dark and keep changing parts to eventually get the same up and running even if the cumulative cost crossed the cost of a new machine.
Customer's premise is R&D Lab for Bosch engineers to learn at customers expense.
I am yet to get a solution for the same, surviving somehow at 40+ degrees Celsius in Noida(UP).
Bravo Bosch, you are actually a Boss. Wish all customers who have burnt their fingers move out from this brand for ever.
- Thank You! We appreciate your effort.
