As you know bmw brand they are all about the power and this car has mind blowing power being an suv

The best part is inside the car that has been change and a new look in x3 with tan leather and the space for storage is also little bit increase

We get an idrive that apple car play compatible and can access to a 20 gd harddrive

The boot space is also good 550 liter boot luggage carrying capacity. The back has pretty leg room and head room

The air conditioner has 3 zone for the back seat

Let's talk about engine.

190bhp is unleashed from 2.0-liter diesel engine with an 8 speed automatic transmission and with paddle shifter the engine is smooth and little bit jerky for shifting gear

The car has various mode comfort, sport. In sport the engine get it's live and the jerk is gone .in comfort the drive is soft

The is braking is also good for this much heavy suv as the bme say that the new car is 55kg lighter then the old car

This car get all the technology led running light, and led graphics tail light

Should u buy this car

YES.u should because at that money value u get a luxury suv compare to AUDI Q5 and VOLVO X60 that are around 76.12 lakhs and Q5 around 74.19 lakhs

I think this cars gives a great driving experience. With the automatic shifting allowing it to run eco and smoodly at the same time. The inside made of letter allows people to have an extra confort while driving in the way that empowers the driver and relaxes the passengers. The room in the back seats allows people to sleep and rest confortable.

Absolutely love everything about this car with one major exception - the stereo flat out sucks. A car in this price range should come standard with a high end sound system. My 2003 330 has the Harmon Kardon upgraded stereo which is very good but the standard system on my 2015 X3 stinks. The stereo in my Honda Accord is actually better.Diesel engine. Eco Pro mode. M sport look. 20" wheel. Top class comfort. Very low wind noise. Sporty exterior and luxury interior. Firm build quality and peace of mind reliability.

BMW SUV'S

The X3 combines the utility of a crossover with the sophistication and driving fun of one of our favorite sedans: the legendary 3-series. There are three turbocharged engines—a 240-hp 2.0-liter four; a 300-hp, 3.0-liter six; and a 180-hp, 2.0-liter diesel four, which offers improved economy but less refinement. An eight-speed automatic is standard; all but the base rear-drive X3 have xDrive.

The options list is long, but in our opinion, the Dynamic Handling package is one you must consider.

BMW X3 Best car for use
Oct 01, 2015 11:54 AM7706 Views

My wife loves driving all types of cars - hatchbacks, Sedans and especially SUVs. According to her, an SUV gives her a commanding view of the road and thereby instills confidence and a feeling of 'superiority' in her.

After having owned and driven a Hyundai i20, Honda Civic, Mahindra Scorpio and Honda-CRV we wanted to go for an SUV from the German'Big-Three'. Mercedes has lost its sheen in the current decade so it was basically a choice between a BMW and an Audi.

We were looking for a crossover SUV so a BMW X3 and an Audi Q5 seemed to perfectly fit the bill. While I was tilting towards the Q5 for it looks my wife was inclined towards the X3 for the better 'driving' experience that BMW is renowned for.

Long story short, we took a test drive of both the vehicles and immediately got bowled over by the BMW X3 just as we had expected. The rest is history.

After owning and driving the BMW X3 for over 3 months, here is what I have to say about the vehicle.

Despite being an SUV, this car drives like a sports sedan. It zooms from 0-100 km/hr in less than 6 seconds and the handling is the best that I've found in its class. It took time for us to get used to the rapid acceleration in the'sports' mode - our other coveted SUV, Honda CRV, now suddenly seems archaic in terms of speed and acceleration.

For a diesel engine, it is amazingly quiet at any speed and just purrs along. I have 19" alloys which seem to make the ride even more enjoyable. I like a pretty soft ride and this is perfection. There are four driving modes and I almost always use the comfort' setting which seems just right and there is plenty of power to pull away at junctions. On weekends or on those days when I get a rush of adrenaline, I switch to'sports' mode and enjoy the feeling of riding a fighter jet of sorts.

The car feels nimble and thanks to the smart drive(AWD) system, taking corners at high speeds is a bliss - you don't feel the body roll-over that is a common issue with all SUVs.

Given the sports car like performance, I didn't expect this car to be very fuel efficient but I am glad it proved me wrong. I have to admit that I have never seen any SUV or a performance car with such a frugal engine - I am impressed beyond words with its fuel consumption.

The cabin is spacious and classy(though I liked the interior of Audi Q5 a tad bit more) and the iDrive system works like a charm - the inclusion of the Professional Multi-Media Navigation System makes it even better. The beautiful panoramic sunroof certainly makes for a very light and airy cabin environment.

A 200 mm of ground clearance is considered decent for an SUV. The X3 has 212 mm of ground clearance which means you can do a little off-roading every now and then. I had the pleasure of taking my car to a beach recently and I must say that it did really well on sand and I was pleased with the way it handled soft sand in particular - again, it was the drive system that made this feat possible. I remember my Scorpio getting stuck in the soft sand back in 2011 and it took a tractor and half a dozen men to tow it back to the tarmac.

The car is fully automatic. You have an auto button for almost everything; the headlights/backlights, air conditioner, windscreen wipers, engine stop/start etc., meaning the car does everything by itself if the auto buttons are switched ON. Our BMW X3 has been on auto ever since I drove it off the dealership - this nifty feature lets you focus on driving and makes things so much easier.

My wife doesn't let me drive the BMW X3 anymore. She insists that I take the CRV to my office while she drives the BMW X3 to her workplace - it's frustrating but I let the lady have the privilege to swagger around in this marvelous piece of German machinery.

The Ultimate Driving Machine - My BMW X3 SUV
Apr 07, 2014 06:48 PM11509 Views

To begin with, I would like to narrate a little about me & my decision to pour in a lot of my hard earned money on a sophisticated mechanical machine with a lot of gizmos that essentially moves you from point A to point B in supreme comfort & style.

I do not belong to an uber-rich family nor am I the CEO of an MNC nor did I get a lot of share from my ancestral property. I am just an ordinary businessman hailing from a well to do off family and to say the least I have been doing pretty well in my business & have worked too hard of late to earn myself reasonably good dividends.

Right from my childhood, I had an obsession for automobiles & I grew up riding & driving archaic machines like Lambretta's, Premier Padmini's, Ambassador's & Mahindra jeeps that our family owned. At the wink of an eyelid, those beautiful days seemed to have zipped by & all the fun and frolic soon disappeared. Times changed, We all grew up, (I mean me & my cousins) We all got married, Priorities in life changed, Responsibilities increased, so did expenditure & time flew. My Y2K Millenium New Year's drink that I had at Kodaikanal with my friends & the quality time spent then is still fresh in my mind & 14 years have passed since. I remember telling my friends(the effect of Smirnoff Vodka obviously) then that I would buy a Sports SUV very soon!

The time for that was now(at last) & I decided to buy a 4 X 4- an imported one at that for my own personal outings & adventures. My knowledge about Automobiles is quite good & I preferred to invest in a car that was technically very good rather than just cosmetic/aesthetic appearance. I shortlisted my search to two good SUV's - the Audi Q5 & the BMW X3. In my refined search, I omitted the Japanese & Korean SUV's since I was very keen on buying a German Engineered Car. I zeroed in on BMW X3 Metallic Bronze - the color was up to my liking & initiated the booking process.

Here is the split up of Vitamin - M(M stands not only for money but hard earned money) in detail:-

Ex-Showroom price Chennai - Rs. 55, 87, 600=00

RTO LTT Charges - Rs. 8, 68, 640=00

Comprehensive Insurance - Rs. 2, 19, 987=00

BMW Secure - Rs. 62, 134=00

On Road Total( A whopping Rs. 67, 38, 361=00) Phew!

Now, this review is getting boring and lengthy so I will highlight the aspects paragraph wise.

Technical Features / Specifications & Driving - Handling of BMW X3:

3.0 Litre Inline 6 Cylinder 24 Valve twin-power turbocharged diesel engine effortlessly delivers an outstanding 258 BHP of Raw power propelling the car from 0 to 100Kmph in under 6 Seconds. This Gargantuan Power mill churns out 560+ Nm of torque.

Fantastic Steptronic 8-speed gearbox with 3 different driving modes - Normal/Sport & Sports Plus. The joystick is a real pleasure to use in the manual mode. The gear lever(joystick) feels disconnected from the gearbox and you simply cannot feel the vibrations as in most cars. The Steptronic is a BMW marvel once you get used to it.

The X3 is technically loaded with lots of Assists like:- Cruise Control / Dynamic Damper Control / Driving Experience Control / Hill Descent Control / Performance Control / Servotronics & xdrive - intelligent 4WD with variable torque split.

BMW has not compromised on safety and here is another long list of equipment in the BMW X3:-

Airbags/Head Airbags & Side Airbags. ABS works brilliantly. Cornering Brake Control( CBC), Dynamic Stability Control( DSC) & Dynamic Traction Control( DTC) are some of the unknown features that work for you! Electronic Vehicle Immobilizer, Run Flat tyre Indicators & Crash Sensors are standard across the range.

Added to these are the interior features like two zone Climate Control, plush leather upholstery that you can customize prior to booking, electrical seat memory functions and lumbar support for the front seats. Front and Rear Park Distance Control is a boon whilst parking. The 22 cm idrive navigation screen is a delight to use via a central large knob for functions. 6 DVD Changer inbuilt music system produces very rich quality music output. The Panorama glass roof makes you feel at ease with the outside world. Steering mounted controls add to convenience while driving. My car is shod with 18-inch light alloy Y spoke wheels and has 245/50-R18 Rubber that grips the tarmac like a leech. The massive battery is charged by Brake Energy Regeneration every time you apply brakes thereby reducing the substantial load on the alternator.

I have been too technical in this review so far - now a bit about my on road experience - The car moves like a dream and is very fast and furious. Night visibility with Xenons is outstanding. The car feels very safe, has abundant unusable power and is a sheer machine engineered for exhilaration. Everything about this car is so good that I hardly can point out anything negative. Despite the deceiving low stance, the ground clearance of 212 MM is pretty okay for decent bits of off-roading.

The build quality is robust and this monster can soak abuse without breaking a sweat. The suspension & drivetrain is superb & the overall engineering is top notch. Plastics & fake wood finish panels boast of very high quality and the much-hyped kidney grille at the front is unmistakable with aluminum linings running. I have not had a real serious long drive to test the car. Will update this review once I do that.

I now understand the true sense of German Engineering - and their philosophy of design. I must admit that the X3 is not a crowd puller when it comes to looks, It is not as huge as the sum you end up paying and does not have a commanding road presence like an Audi. It is the Engineering brilliance of this car that is admirable. The fit and finish, the paint job, plastic & rubber material, the alloys etc.boast of tremendous quality which places this SUV in a different league altogether, far from its rivals. The attention paid to every detail is mind blowing & the panel gaps are consistent throughout the body. The X3 is assembled via the CKD kit that is brought into the Chennai plant from Germany (another significant factor that justifies the pricing.) The build is robust and is almost tank-like.

Now the inevitable question:- What made me buy one? I am sure in the days to come I may come out with a reason or justification of my act to buy one. But I keep asking myself another tough question - WHY? to which I simply have no answer as of now.

The Final Verdict on BMW X3:- The Car is definitely worth the price but am I worthy of it? It is the debate that will continue in my mind from now on in the days to come.

A little tit-bit about owning the BMW X3 (a Sticker I noticed on a BMW):- Dad's down payment, Wife's EMI & Enjoyed by Me!
