Peaceful Place: Bhadrachalam
Dec 27, 2017 11:12 AM 2339 Views

Hi friends, Today I am writing my experience about Bhdrachalam. Last week our family members visited to Bhadrachalam. We stay for four days. It is just 5 hours far from Hyderabad. We went by train. First we visited,  The lord Seethe Rama Temple. Temple management follow stick rules in temple surroundings. Every one should come for darshanam only in traditional dress. They are not allowing without traditional wear. After darshanam  there are free meals for every one. Food was good. There is one more place to visit, Parnashala. Here we can see the Lord Rama's  throne which is made by stone. It  is very big. And one more beautiful place is Papikondalu. This was situated 90 km far from Bhadrachalam. We enjoyed boating in Godhavari river. That is all about Bhadrachalam.

Bhadrachalam is small town in khammam district of Telangana state. This town is famous for its hindu pilgrimage. It is situated on the banks of that the river Godavari. There is famous temple of Lord Sri Sita Rama Chandra swami in bhadrachalam. The temple was constructed over 370 years ago. It is said that the temple was constructed in 17th century by Kancherla Gopanna. The history of the temple was during Ramayan time king Rama was sent to forest for 14years by his father to fulfill his wife's wish. Then Sri Rama came to this forests of bhadrachalam and stayed her for some time. He stayed in a place called Parnasala which is 30kms from Bhadrachalam. Still now the hut which was constructed by them to live is available for us to view. It was under taken by the government and maintained neatly. It was open for all the pilgrims to go and view the temple. The temple in bhadrachalam has a history too. There was devotee sage called Bhadra ( mountain) who is continuously praying for Lord Rama to fulfill his promise. He is continuously praying for Rama even after avatar of Rama. By listening to his prayers Lord Vishnu who has taken the avatar of Rama and ended his avatar in that yuga. He appeared in fort of Bhadra for his prayers to fulfill his wish as Rama avatar. Bhadra asked him to stay as svayambhu on his mountain as Sita Rama lakshmana. Rama agreed to him and stayed as svayambhu( vigraha) on the mountain. After that in 17th century there was an old lady called Dammakka. Lord Sri Rama Chandra swami came in to dreams and told her that he was on a mountain called Bhadra. Then Dammakka found the idol of Sri Rama and built a small Hut around the idols. After that Kancherla Gopanna built a large temple. He collected funds from the people and built the temple in 17th century. Jewelry also been made for the idols by Kancherla Gopanna by the funds given by people. By seeing all this some people near to king created misunderstandings between king and Gopanna, by telling king that Gopanna has misused the treasure of the kingdom for his own purpose and made Gopanna to go to jail. Gopanna spent in jail for lots and lots of years. After that Lord Sri Rama Chandra swami itself came to the dream of the king and gave all the money that gopanna need to pay back, when king opened his eyes he seen lots of coins in front of him. As Sri Rama Chandra swami paid all the debts of Kancherla gopanna, King released him from jail. The temple was built so beautifully. There are lots of small temples around the main temple. There are Heritage hotels near to temple. The Heritage hotels are best for accommodation. Another attraction in Bhadrachalam is that there is a water transport to a place called Papikondalu. There are lots of dealer who run agencies for water transportation to Papikondalu. The Telangana road transportation provides lots of busses from all the places to bhadrachalam temple. The best place for people who enjoy nature and scenic beauty.
