My Feedback about school
Mar 25, 2022 03:14 PM2413 Views

Teachers

Most of them good, they care about students, few teachers shared personal observation about my son.

At same time, we didn't receive actual feedback about my son in PTM in the past 3yrs

Sports/Extra curricular activities

Poor, I have been asking for post school activities, they assure it will get started from next year onwards. And the same story will repeat for following yr. They finish Sports day in the very first 2 months after school opening and after that there is no traction on the sports activities

Leave

Bethany is the first school in India will announce leave if anything happens anywhere in India. This shows Bethany management takes care the teacher and Staff

COVID

I was impressed with quick solution they put during covid time(online classes etc), but how effectively they utilized the system is question mark to me.

Admin/General

Admin staff's are very attentive, we will get immediately reply from them on issue raised.

Overall

They all have all facilities, well dressed staff and teachers, but quality of education is not that great. You will get to know about kids caliber/capacity ONLY if you change school

Health hazard! Don’t put young ones in this School
Mar 09, 2022 04:11 PM7937 Views

Health hazard! Don’t put young ones here!

I visited the Bethany pre-primary block for my son's admission.

I smelt a strong effluents smell at the premises, and I thought they were painting the classrooms but I couldn’t see any work going on there!

After inquiring around, I realized that it was attached to a service center, and a strong effluent smell was coming from their paint booth; I got a headache for one whole day because of this! Now, think about What will happen to the young ones once the school reopens.

This whole block is for the pre-primary department, and the whole block is exposed to the hazardous vapors coming from the paint boot and How does the school management tolerate this?

So I recommend parents to stay away from this school as the management is only after your money and least bothered about the health of our young ones.

I hope other parents who have already admitted their kids here take some action against this issue and safeguard their young ones!

Nice planned one. Students have a good practice inside the campus. They are taking the students to music competitions also. This will remove the stage fear and build their ability. This school also having a campus Dommasandra to Chandapura raod nearly muthananallu. Even female security gaurds also working in school. This a good one for girls.

A good school in centre of the city
Mar 22, 2019 11:26 AM15353 Views

A good school in centre of the city. One of the oldest and most respectful school in Bangalore. This school create good memories among students, helping them excel in not only academics but in social life as well. I wish every school in Bangalore adapt to culture of Bethany High.

Brilliant School right in the heart of Bangalore

Hats of to the Director, Principal and all the Teachers for building a school that focuses on all round development. During formative years it is key to focus on all the all round development of the child, all the way from academics to sports to dramas and emotional development and Bethant does a great job.

The commitment of the teachers and staff is very impressive. They are actively engaged.

I wish Bethany School good luck!

3 lakh rupees for first standard!!!
Feb 19, 2018 02:08 PM29160 Views (via Mobile)

We received a message asking to visit the school for interaction. We drove all the way from Bellandur to Kommasandra. That is around 16 kms. Our daughter was interviewed for 10 minutes. Later all of us were called inside. Fee structure form was given. To our horror it was 3 lakh INR, all put together! We had nothing more to say. Said bye and walked out. Shameless Daylight robbery is what it is! If you have extra money you are welcome to go for it!

A Proud Institute of Bengaluru
Sep 19, 2017 09:31 PM31882 Views

I am a parent of a child and am a happy parent at that! My son was a student for two years in this institute, he did his senior classes, 11 & 12 from here, science stream .

We are from north India . Due to certain circumstances we had to shift to Bengaluru . We came to know about Bethany through one of our neighbour, to whom I am truly grateful, and want to thank from the bottom of my heart . My family and I never had such an excellent experience of a school or a college before . During my son's two years in Bethany I was never so carefree about his studies; till class 10 I was always a bit concerned about his percentage, but Bethany proved otherwise . Bethany provided the atmosphere for my son to excel in his academics and provided the all round knowledge for his growth . The study curriculum is well conceived and the method of teaching innovative . The teacher - student ratio, 1: 25 .

Extracurricular activities are aplenty, such as annual sports, live debates, inter school competitions, music, etc. Regarding safety and security, the school takes great care of students inside the campus. Discipline is of prime concern. Enough motivational activities for students through price distribution programs took place. My son is a proud owner of a few trophies as well!

Next I would like to talk about the staff, teachers and the school administration . They were, not in the least arrogant, but, easily approachable and courteous and well mannered . In the parent-teacher meeting, I always received honest feedback about my child, about his strengths, about his weaknesses. The principal of the school is an able administrator and a wonderful human being.

The classrooms are well equipped and the labs are up to date.

There is also a good library for students to avail the latest books.

The school provides its own bus service too, for students who want to avail of that service, but again its a bit on the steeper side.

In future, if anyone asks for my advice for a good school, I will, without any doubt, suggest Bethany, Koramangala.

The only concern was the fees which is a bit on the higher side . But, all is well that ends well . My son was very happy and satisfied after finishing his studies on a high note .

My son now calls himself a proud Bethanian.

Thank you Bethany!

I am an old understudy of Bethany working in the US as a specialist. Monareddy needs to go down her contrary remarks with proof and details the web being mysterious individuals can compose audits knowing completely well they can't be berated for false or pernicious bits of gossip. In the event that guardians have a grouse they have to keep in touch with the school and attempt the standard channels first Akash Ryall and Robert Khin are exceptional individuals and won't put cash above instruction whenever CReddy

Bethany High Koramangala, Bangalore School
Aug 26, 2016 08:56 PM55048 Views

Bethany Koramangala, Bangalore, the facility in school is ok but no sporting(Physical) activity and extra curriculum activity.School has very small ground. How they accommodate whole school for sports?. Its only money money money .They will not help those who really need help.Relationship manger is really hopeless, never keep up his words. He will promise, the next day then he make U turn and say that not possible, that is really not a true character.Every year they increase 10% fees but they disclose the fees structure after academic admissions of the other schools are closed. So, that Children can not leave the school and will not get the admission in other schools.Very cunning tactics by Bethany mAnasultangement.Bethany School has one more branch in HSR layout till 2nd std after that children has to move to Sarjapura road, near Dommasandra branch but they generate admission ID from the main branch Koramangala. At the time of joining in HSR layout branch, school will not collect admission fees.@the time of shifting from Hsr branch to Sarjapura road, near Dommasandra branch school demand you to aishwaryasingh23 admission fees.

I also heard that shifting to Bethany High Koramangala branch from other branches mAnasultangement demanding few lakhs.Rich can affrord it.Few rich people spoiling educational system.Middle /lower middle class can afford it? This is what happening in Bethany HIgh.

I am not against anyone but it's all facts that I had mentioned here what it is really happening in Bethany.

Bethany... the school you wouln't want go to!
Feb 03, 2016 12:18 PM66224 Views

The school is ok upto middle school level only. I find it very backward in terms of academic standards when you compare it with other premier schools. Teaching staff are grossly underpaid and underqualified. Most teachers do not stay beyond 2 years, Specially teachers for maths and science.

Also discipline among students is grossly lacking. The school has excess holidays, practically no homework(only projects, which are mostly done by parents, not the child). Extra curricular programs are plenty. So your child gets to enjoy the school. only after your child reaches the 10th standard will you realise what it is,  in terms of education your child has lost. So  please  arrange for extra private coaching classes once your child reaches the 9th standard. All parents are doing it. and the school is happy to announce 100% pass.

School Fees is very high
Apr 06, 2015 04:32 PM94048 Views

Bethany junior school fees is really very high. Junior schools are running a small old rented building but they charge equal to international schools. For 1st school for 2015 is: 18500 per quarter, 25k for cab, 5 for uniform+ 3500 for books. Over all 1.2 lks has to be sent for 1st standard kid:-(. Really very pain full. Education is a good business today.

Bangalore India
Curriculum-wise best, management-wise worst
Nov 01, 2014 11:12 PM107686 Views

Curriculum-wise I find it very fair and the best school in Bangalore. Kids get less home work and lot of focus on extra activities. Teachers focal point is more on kids’ overall development, rather than only on study. Pace of study is also very balanced. For all this, credit goes only to teachers, not to management. Teachers are very friendly with the kids and have+ve thinking. But school gives lots of holidays, so it is better to say its Bethany Holiday School.

As per my views, management is very rude and self appraised. Management says that parents need not to worry about their kids studies, since school takes care of that.  We are from Hindi background but we opted Kannada as 2nd language for my kid so that she can learn one extra language, thinking that school's study will be suffice. But it was not so, and after few months we switched to Hindi.

Complain was made about book and uniform supplier about over charging. But its does not want to listen about this.Fee-also is on very higher side. Whether its bus, tuition or annual fee, all are on upward side. And sometimes there will be demand for money for other things in the name of annual function etc.

Review as a parent : 9 academic years!
Jul 18, 2014 07:35 PM129747 Views

I chanced on this page by accident and after reading the reviews posted here I thought I must write for the benefit of others and especially since my elder son has been in this school  since pre-nursery and is now in Class 7th and  my younger one is in Bethany pre-primary .

Bethany's Pre primary is excellent: It focuses on development of the child in a happy and healthy environment. If you want home work for your child then this is not a school for you as Bethany does not believe in giving much home work until in middle school. Teachers are a committed lot and I have NEVER heard a complaint from my child about teachers being harsh or abusive( either physical or verbal), firm yes but not harsh or rude. The management is committed to giving the best for their students. As a parent of a kinder garden child I very rarely spent time making my child write but still he managed a beautiful writing which I would then(not any more;) marvel at . Pre -primary has a special added feature of Fast track classes, where they give the child wide exposure make then do simple experiments etc. I remember my son coming back home and trying to make an egg float in salted water.which he continued doing for the next one week till I ran out of all the salt!

They make every child participate in sport activities and other activities which gives them a tremendous feeling of achievement!

Coming to primary and middle school the same commitment level by teachers continue.Lots of extra curricular activities for the child to get a balanced growth.I can especially vouch for this as my elder son is in school Cricket team and they are made to work hard for their team, hr before and after school which I'm very happy about since it will instill the value of hard work and perseverance in him.

Few of my close friends whose children used to study in Bethany but now have either shifted to another city or to other end of the city and therefore changed school( to some fancy well known schools) miss the academics part of Bethany and say that the teachers worked hard in making sure that the child understood the concepts well, which not a practice in their present school. I would also like to add that the school runs a Study Lab for weak students or students with minor learning disability to help them cope up, and its free!

I would like to write more but will just end saying that we are so happy with the school that we have decided to stay in Koramangala so that kids can continue going to Bethany, even though our own new house is comming up in Whitefeild!

The school was started by the present Director's grandmother and so I feel there is a lot of emotion and heart invested in the school which shows in all they do!

Overall a Good traditional school
Apr 29, 2013 12:43 PM50418 Views

Loads of comments here and I want to provide an holistic view of the school.

Academic standards: Many have been complaining about poor academic standards. ON this line let me reiterate that the school has been giving 100% results (in fact 100% first class) for the past couple of years. The school has also been in the limelight for a number of smart students.

Fees: the fees at Bethany high (the old School) is Rs. 3500 per month i:e 42000 per year + an annual fees of Rs. 15000/ year. SO the total fees you pay is Rs. 57000. The books cost around Rs.2800. Uniforms around Rs. 4000. For new admission they charge a admission fees of Rs. 50000 one time that’s it. There are no other hidden costs. They do not trouble the children in the middle of the year for any payment. The fees in their new school Bethany Junior are a bit higher but still less than the international schools.

Curriculum: they follow ICSE syllabus with very less burden until std IV. They have lots of extra curricular activities through out the year. They stress on the overall development of the child. They teach abacus in school. They have a lot of music and sports activities. Stress on English language is remarkable.

Teachers: They do have some real good teachers. We all know there is a major crunch for real good teachers around., yet their teachers are pretty good.

Infrastructure:  For traditional school standards, they have pretty good infrastructure in the old school with a big Play ground and a decent auditorium. Their new school at Sarjapur boasts of a huge campus with state of the art facilities.

Admission process: They do not interview the children for admission and I think this is very good. Little children should not be subject to emotional stress at such young age. I had been to NEW Horizon with my 3 year old child and was really upset the way they treated my lil one. They had an interview of my child at age 3 where the principal did not even make an eye contact with the child since she was busy interviewing 100s of toddlers the same day. However, at Bethany, they just scan the application forms and shortlist the candidates.

Administrative staff: They have a good staff strength and I was surprised to see a lot of differently abled and less abled individual employed here. This is good in the sense it will also instil empathy in our children towards such sections of the society.

Overall a good school. Hope they continue to be the way they are. God bless them on completion of 50 years.

School for extra curricular activities

Focus on extra-curricular activities rather than studies. Too many holidays for trivial reasons...Not much academic focus.

Teachers need to focus better on students.

Bethany School and its arrogant attitude
Mar 19, 2012 03:33 PM52478 Views

I looked at this school basis only one thing- accessibility! They however mistook that I went to them for its name & fame. I put the request and then waited. In between I was suggested by the admin chap to get recommendation letters which I did. Then, we waited again! I made 5-6 trips to the school and every time I went, the chap at the counter thought I was visiting coz he was divine!!

On one such visit, he said there were no seats available. Now, for a matter of fact, I know they would release seats if I paid them a DONATION. But that spineless guy was too divine to suggest that too. Fortunately/ unfortunately, the Owner dude was available around that time and he got an earful for his peoples attitude (which of course they would have imbibed from the dude only!!)

Overall, a bad experience for us. Did my kid deserve a school like that- NO WAY IN HELL :)

I am an old student of Bethany working in the US as a surgeon. Monareddy needs to back up her negative comments with proof and stats the internet being anonymous people can write reviews knowing fully well they cannot be taken to task for false or malicious rumors.

If parents have a grouse they need to write to the school and try the regular channels first

Akash Ryall and Robert Khin are outstanding people and will not put money above education at any time

The best school i prefer to all
Dec 23, 2010 06:32 PM50708 Views

I personally think bethany high is the best among any other icse schools now as the school has showed much improvement in the board exams results and also the school encourages and brings out the talent of the child in the most successful manner.

My son studying in standard 7 is a best example to justify my statement as he is a all-rounder so far. Thanks a lot for the dedicated teachers and also to the principal and headmaster for all the support they r rendering for the growth of the school and the children. Keep up the good work.

Bethany School is the Best
Nov 26, 2009 09:48 AM54151 Views

" Bethany Pre-Primary is the Best "

Sharing our personal experience & feedback on Bethany .

I consider myself as one of the fortunate parent to get admission in Bethany school. My daughter joined last year in Nursery  & currently she is in Junior 1(UKG) at Bethany Junior school . We found the teaching methods adopted by teachers is very very good, especially with respect to overall child development, knowledge enhancement & Skill sets development like Pronunciation /phonetics / vocab, etc . My 5 year old daughter is also to read 6 to 10 letter words without any help .Learning new words is like a new game for her!

Another highlight is that class teacher’s cover 100% of syllabus in class itself & don’t delegate the work to parents at home . However, every kid is given a practice book which parents can use for practice or revision. Most of the teaching staff is well experienced & very sincere towards the work.

Extra curricular activities like story telling, drawing, painting, sports, fancy dress, Rhyme time, handwriting competetion etc are frequently organised by school & the best part is that all children get a opportunity to participate in class and perform on stage, functions etc .

Pre-Primary Dept HOD / Principal personally does random checks on the children’s progress & shares her personal suggestions .Being a private school, The fees, etc  is expected to be slightly higher than other less reputed schools . However its still very nominal compared to many other schools.

I feel Bethany Pre-Primary is the best school that any parent can look for( as far as our experiences are considered)!

Thanks & Regards - jyothi.vineeth
