I've been to Bengali sweets a lot of times since childhood and our whole family used to have food here almost every or alternate weekend.
Bengali sweets has downgraded its service and food since a lot of time now and is not a nice place to visit for us now.
The servers are not interested in the customer needs as even after calling them, they don't listen to you, and the food has become from average to worse in the last few months.
One such experience was when I ordered a simple idli sambhar there and what came was a sheer nightmare. A dry cold idli and watery sambhar is not what you would like to eat in dinner just before sleeping.
After having, the next day I turned really unwell and had food poisoning.
I would not recommend anyone to go there as they don't consider customers as the king.( Maybe because they have been in business since a lot of years and that has made them take customers for granted)

Im a delhite by birth and by nature(foody to the core). We are a regular visitor to the Bengali market eateries ,especially the sweet shop.We have very fond memories of having ladoos, kaju Katli here.
Keeping in with tradition of everytime having a quick bite at Bengali Market whenever we pass that area, me and my wife visited Bengali Sweets in the morning. The weather was chilly so it was perfect setting to enjoy a hot smoking Cholle-Bathura for myself and straight from the hallwai's kadai samosas for my better half.
We were pretty excited to relive our nostalgia. At first, the service was pretty ordinary, most of the staff was busy packing more than 100 lunch boxes. But I don't know how it made us less-important even to be asked/served the menu.It was 10.45am in the morning ,so it was more of a brunch than a breakfast and we were expecting that we will be served with many choices like South Indian,North Indian type of breakfast. It was not meant to be.
Then we placed the order and we received our order of Cholle Bathura and samosa in next 15minutes of placing the order. Then the bathuras was over-oily and heavy (first time I had it in this form). Most important part of a Cholla-Bathura is the Cholla ,this cholla was again too oily, you could actually see the oil and cholla seperate on the dish.Worst was that ,they served it on a paper plate. All in all worst experience.I would not recommend it to anybody.
In this age of Card Money it is a pity that the so-called snobs owning Restaurants like the one mentioned herein are so much ignorant of the fact that once the card swipe delivers the acknowledgement receipt the transaction stands completed and the amount stands debited to the card owner's account.
The illiteracy of the ugly faced big fat manager is further aggravated by the fact that irrespective of your looks and the attire you wear which may not be any lesser of half a lakh, this man doubts you for a tiny sum of five-six hundred that too when you have paid your bill through a swipe.
Actually for this meager sum he wants to ensure that you are the genuine card holder.
No doubt one feels humiliated.
Further the utensils are cleaned using burnt clay which leaves traces to go to our stomachs. Once visiting the washroom is enough to infect you as they keep it perfectly unclean and located near the tables.
Your single visit to this hazardous place would reveal the truth.
A single helping of water-balls at outside counter is sufficient to spread gastroenteritis. Anyone doubting may well try.
GOD SAVE US ALL.
