The best bit regarding this building is that it's settled close to the Kottivakkam beach. thus whereas you dine, you'll feel the ocean breeze on your face and ruffle your hair. This building was earlier a cottage however currently regenerate into a building that has seating within further as outside.

The place appearance beautiful within the morning with the white drapes and umbrellas that shade you whereas you relish the most effective Italian preparation within the town. however it's within the night that the place appearance all the additional stunning with the soft lighting in addition to the ocean breeze.

This place is that the most good getaway for couples, who wish to steal some precious moments from their busy schedules.

The wood kitchen appliance baked pizzas square measure a requirement have here, thus square measure the pastas, salads and steaks. they need a good style of Italian preparation with mouthwatering descriptions and even tastier dishes. thus return right down to the place and revel in some connoisseur Italian fare.

Smoking at the restaurant

I went to have dinner with my wife to this restaurant on 30 April. It has an outdoor and indoor eating place. We chose to sit outside. While having our meal we found many of the customers were smoking and it caused discomfort to my wife and I.

On asking the staff, they said it was permitted outside. When I asked the owner he was arrogant enough to suggest that it was his place and he did not see anything wrong in people smoking there, if we were uncomfortable we should move inside. When reminded of smoking law in India he said many bigger illegal things were going on in India and he, an Italian by birth, had lived here for 17 years to know what he could or could not do in his restaurant. https://indiankanoon.org/docfragment/128982936/?

formInput=smoking%20in%20public%20places%20%20doctypes%3A%20supremecourt. I was aghast that https://mouth shut.com had given him a certificate for the best Italian restaurant in Chennai. A person with such attitude blatantly flouting the laws of the land doesn't need appreciation of mouth shut but needs to be reminded to uphold the law in the first place. Would he have dared done the same in Italy?

Authentic Italian Cuisine

The best bit about this restaurant is that it is situated near the Kottivakkam beach. So while you dine, you can feel the sea breeze on your face and ruffle your hair. This restaurant was earlier a bungalow but now converted into a restaurant that has seating inside as well as outside.

The place looks stunning in the morning with the white drapes and umbrellas that shade you while you enjoy the best Italian cuisine in the city. But it is in the night that the place looks all the more beautiful with the soft lighting coupled with the sea breeze.

This place is the most perfect getaway for couples, who want to steal some precious moments from their busy schedules.

The wood oven baked pizzas are a must have here, so are the pastas, salads and steaks. They have a wide variety of Italian cuisine with mouthwatering descriptions and even tastier dishes. So come down to the place and enjoy some gourmet Italian fare.

Mouthwatering Italiano!

I love Italian food and I love to go to new places that serve pure Italian food. I have heard a lot about Bella Ciao from friends and wanted to try out this place. On a lazy evening, I decided to visit the place with my fiancé. We settled down in a nice cozy spot outside, which was a little dimly lit. The most perfect romantic setting.

We called for Bruschette al Pomodoro which was bread with tomatoes, parsley and garlic. The bread was crispy on the edges and soft in the middle. The butter has melted beautifully on the bread and the veggies gave really good taste to the bread. Along with this we also ordered a Chicken Salad which had generous amounts of chicken and vegetables in it, with an amazing dressing.

For the Mains we settled for a Pizza and Pasta. In Pasta we called for one with Pesto, Penne, which had a paste of Basil, garlic, parmesan and olive oil. Pizza was Funghi, which had tomato sauce, cheese and two types of mushrooms. Both the Pasta and the Pizza were absolutely delicious with all the flavours rolling and blasting in the mouth.

For Desserts we called for a classic Tiramisu which was yum to the core! We really had a great time eating here and I would really like to recommend this place to you. Go here to enjoy the ambiance and authentic Italian cuisine.

Good Food - Pricey - Bad Service
Apr 02, 2007 03:32 PM3471 Views

Me and my wife are big italian food fans. We love anything cooked in white sauce. So having heard a lot about bella ciao we decided to give it a try. Here is how our experience shaped up

Ambience and Decor - B minus. It was located outdoor. There was insufficient light. The tables and cutlery were cheap. The only saivng grace was that compared to other outdoor locations there were hardly any mosquitoes.

Service - C minus. No water refills unless called and asked for. Waiter forgot to bring our soup till we asked for it. Turns out it was prepared and waiting to be served. By the time we got it, it was cold. Had to raise hand and wait for the waiter to notice and come and take our order. When asked for a salt shaker, got one that did not work. Asked the waiter for another, he had the guts to point out that I already had one so why did I want another. I had to explain that the one I had was not working.

Food - B plus. Appetizer(Bruschetta) was good.  The bread was crispy yet soft. The soup was good but had too much salt. The pasta in white/blue cheese sauce was exceptionally tasty. The veg lasagna had hardly any salt. So overall a mixed experience. Maybe the cook was good, but not good at handling lots of orders simultaneously.

Price - Very pricey. We spent 830 rupees on a dinner for two. one appetizer, one soup and two entrees. So this turned out to be one of our most expensive outings in Chennai. The only other comparable one was the one at GRT, where we spent something like 900 rupees. However bella ciao was totally incomparable to GRT. The ambience, . service and food quality was not at all worth the price we paid. Wang's kitchen and Rainforest cafe are much better places with great prices.

Really good place

Bella Ciao is an Italian Restaurant loacted in Thiruvanmiyur next to the Beach. Its only open for dinner though.

The nice part about Bella Ciao is that it is in the open air.I'm more of a restaurant with walls around me and roof over my head kind of guy so I wasn't expecting to like Bella ciao.

Surprise surprise.....it was really enjoyable.

Bella Ciao is more of a house whose garden is converted into the eating area.the garden is quite large and you sit on these quaint woodden chairs or stone couches and are seved on plain woodden tables.

The waiter is this well spoken European chap who jokes around with you whle he describes the specials for the day(He owns the place). He also has this really big furry dog that politely waits at the periphery for any titbits you might want to throw his way.

The reason I don't like open air restaurants is that theyre normally dirty or noisy or both. However Bella ciao was clean, the waiters were friendly and the food was well prepared. Its nice to sit and talk and have your food while the air around you has a taste of the sea in it.

A very good way to spend an evening
