Bangali Mashi's Kitchen, Seawoods, Navi Mumbai Reviews

Cooked to order
Oct 28, 2013 12:20 AM1970 Views

Driving past an alley of varied food outlets off the Palm Beach - Navi Mumbai, near Akshar Building crossing from Nerul West to Nerul East, chanced to see a few new outlets.

Wanted to try one of them but being the Karwa Chauth evening, didnt want to take a risk with a Bhookhi Sherni by my side, so decided to go for the tried one, and this was what we had tried in its infancy, and last night it was on a fellow foodies recco that it was one bright spark on this side of the equator !!!

Hope fully this review gives them the so deserved mileage from my followers at least, and I am not going to bias you but take you thru my gastronomic experience of the whole journey last night.....culinary oddyssey that is......don't expect more than that LOLz, as is my won't to go the knotty way, generally.

We entered quite early by restaurant timings and all the six odd tables were empty, Mr Sen at the counter taking phone orders for delivery and a young lil bong lass trying to LBDN, look busy doing nothing, flitting in and out of the kitchen or was she eyeing my hairy legs from under my long bermudas...hahaha...yes she was, oggling i could see from the corner of my eyes :)

Took a while to scan through the menu card and the prices, i popped my eyes out on some prices, also....

But having been backed by a very strong recco, didn't give much fancy to prices as I knew it would not do justice if the food was great....

Ordered the Kosha mangsho (chicken) Chingadi Malai DHaap and Dhokar Dalna.

Used the optimum influence of the lady to plan the order for a take away... to give us maximum variety of tastes.

The help was really helpful, and the lil bong was still oggling...... despite the lady of the house asking her to shoo away with a bahana of get her a glass of water, and she got that glass of water faster than the Japans Bullet train, am sure the owner lady also may have been surprised, but then got into taking my order carefully.

I asked how much time for delivery, shared my address and also asked her if i need to pay here or on receipt, she was gracious to say cash on delivery so i asked her the amount i should keep ready at home.

Chicken was a robust thick masala with potatoes and very very envigoratingly spiced.

Prawns were a wee too small, though she did say they were small but there were far too small, but the sweet pink sauce was delicate and rich at the same time.

Dhoka was the best, tasted nice and juicy and quite filling the palate as well.

Rich flavors all, texture of all sauces and masalas was great and meats and veggies all looked fresh... not am iota of pre-cooked and dished stuff this.....yes it can be vouched it is cooked on order concept...

On the whole loved the whole experience, the tete e tete with the lady owner, the experience of the food and the way I teased the lil bong with my lido like leg show...hahaha

Go for it, Guys if you can :) I say You must !!~
